Confused about Chris Christie? I trust this sheds some light on who this guy is, and why I’ve been so critical for so long. I do love the Compulsion to Confess, don’t you?

Via the NY Daily News.

The two state leaders have more in common than previously thought, according to a comment reportedly made by the New Jersey governor.

In a conversation with a union leader, Christie allegedly made the jaw-dropping claim that he “probably” agrees with his Democratic New York counterpart on the vast majority of issues.

Christie apparently called New Yorker Larry Bulman, political director for the United Association of Plumbers, Pipefitters and Steamfitters, to thank him for a union donation to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts, according to a report in the Glens Falls Chronicle picked up by the Times Union.

Bulman said that when he told Christie he is from upstate New York, the conservative governor replied: “I’m not much different from Andrew Cuomo. I probably agree with him on 98% of the issues.”

Given Cuomo’s liberal leadership on issues like gay marriage and gun control, it’s not clear what issues Christie’s “98%” comment encompasses. The New Jersey governor’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Heh.

  2. Shifra says:

Well, Tammy, you are correct, yet again.

But let’s see: Cuomo is anti-gun ownership, and now he is pushing legislation to guarantee the right of women in NY State to have late-term abortions. He is also a horrible public-speaker. Hey, what’s not to love?

    Dear Governor Christie:

I’m not much different from Tammy Bruce. There’s no way in hell that she will vote for you and there’s no way in hell that I will vote for you either.

I appreciate his transparency of the real him and will take this as his confession that he doesn’t want to run for President (on the Republican ticket). On the flip political side though, he is really stupid or arrogant or both for not having learned from the criticism of him walking around with the DB following Hurricane Sandy before the election.

And there ya go…I’m sure he never thought that comment would get out. Oh, but don’t blame him, he was high on the Krispy Kremes at the time. Them donuts will make you say wild and crazy things. I’ve been there. 🙂

Speaking of agreeing on the issues: Mark Steyn post about a U. of Colorado professor who was just asked to step down from the editorial board of the journal, Global Environmental Change. Purported reason is to give other scientists experience in the position. Couldn’t be that the prof. was critical of scientists who embellish could it? Nah… (sarc off).

“scientific journal’ Global Environmental Change is Climate Change you can believe in alright.
