With President Reagan and Pope John Paul II, she helped bring down the scourge of the Soviet Union. Her leadership has kept the free world free enough to continue our ongoing fight against oppression and the cancer of socialism. Thank God, literally, she was here. Thank you for everything Baroness Thatcher, you are in our prayers.

BBC: Ex-Prime Minister Baroness Thatcher dies, aged 87

Former Prime Minister Baroness Thatcher has died “peacefully” at the age of 87 after suffering a stroke while staying at the Ritz hotel in central London.

David Cameron called her a “great Briton” and the Queen spoke of her sadness at the death.

Lady Thatcher was Conservative prime minister from 1979 to 1990. She was the first woman to hold the role.

She will not have a state funeral but will be accorded the same status as Princess Diana and the Queen Mother.

The ceremony, with full military honours, will take place at London’s St Paul’s Cathedral.

The union jack above Number 10 Downing Street has been lowered to half-mast.

And the left has reacted as you would expect from scum, which also confirms her enduring legacy. Cancer hates the doctor, never forget that.

    Her most memorable quote IMO:

“The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.”

Yes indeed, and then when it runs out they’ll scream “Sequester!” and then slyly demagogue for a “balanced approach” to up the taxes and get more.

She was a great lady. She was a one of the influences on my move to more conservative views.

Funny, it seems as though she is more popular in the United States than she was in Great Britain during her latter years.

Mrs. Thatcher was a great role model for women, feminists, housewives and world leaders. She faced obstinancy and stood for her principles regardless. Her only mirror image could be reborn in a Sarah Palin. The left can’t appreciate their opponents because they are filled with rage at the sight of anyone better than them.

That rare special time in history when the stars aligned on earth- Reagan, Thatcher, and Pope John Paul II. RIP Baroness Thatcher. Now all three stars are aligned again in heaven.

On a personal note – In the early 1980s when I was in college I backpacked through Europe. As I was standing on the sidewalk in front of the iron gate blocking off 10 Downing Street, the gate opened and cars started coming out. What a thrill when I spotted Margaret Thatcher in the back seat of the car. I was a few feet from her window and she looked out and waved at me. It was certainly a highlight of my trip.

    2 Timothy 4:6-8
6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

    Go with God Margret Thatcher.
Say “Hi” to Ronald Reagan and Winston Churchill for us.

I was in high school and college when Lady Thatcher and Reagan were in power. I had so much respect for her. She had a confidence that inspired me whenever I heard her speak. It wasn’t just the British accent ;-), she and Reagan shared the same values I learned from my parents.

When I came downstairs this morning, about to take my 13 yr old son to school, he met me at the bottom of the stairs to tell me Lady Margaret Thatcher had died of a stroke. My face just fell and I said, “Oh my Gosh, that’s so sad!”

Part of our drive to school is spent in prayer for the day. Today, I also took the time to share with my son about Margaret Thatcher and her contributions to both Britain and the world at the time she was in leadership, and Ronald Reagan was the President. I love these times, teaching my son about great people/history, especially US history. The chance to influence him and explain why we believe what we believe; whether it’s faith, family, America, politics, etc. is priceless. If I can instill those foundational values in him now, he’ll not be persuaded by the liberals he’s sure to encounter throughout his life. I want him to persuade others to our side.

With the radio playing in the background on the ride to school, the host came on to announce the passing of Margaret Thatcher. This male/female team tried to explain who she was and when she was the Prime Minister. It was pathetic to listen to. I was dumbfounded that not only did they not know she was PM during Reagan’s Presidency, they didn’t even know the order of the Presidents from Carter! I was not only embarrassed, but mad. What are they teaching our kids in school? Clearly they were younger than me, but to not know who was President during a pivotal time in our Nation’s history was appalling. I likened it to not knowing who was President when Lincoln was shot. (Is that too hard?) Anyway, he got it. Thank God he knew who she was. He attends a private Christian School, a sacrifice I’m happy to make.

Anyway, we had a nice back and forth about the Monarchy vs the Republic, where our freedom comes from, and again, why we are an exceptional nation. I loved it!

I kinda take Proverbs 22:6 quite literally. 🙂

I think Drudge summed it up best when he tweeted today: A horrible jolt this morning how awful current leaders are. #Thatcher #ironlady. And his follow up tweet was equally as effective: On the upside, we have our Hillary in the wings. #Thatcher #ironlady

Save for Pope Francis, it is a sad state of affairs with the current crop of world leaders.

May she rest in peace, and let’s pray that we get to see leaders as good as she was during our lifetimes.

I was blessed to live through the Ronald Reagan/Lady Thatcher/Pope John Paul II era. Truely world changing times. Their legacies leave a permanent stamp on our “collective concience”. Now the third leg of this team has passed on – the end of a time. My hopes and prayers are that soon we will have new leaders, as Lady Thatcher, rise up, lead and guide us out of this abyss. Rest In Peace Lady Thatcher. And say “Hello” to Ronnie and John Paul for us all.

    RIP, Lady Thatcher.

Good NRO column on don’t let the left pretend that they respected Lady Thatcher.

“…As the treacly and insincere tributes from the likes of Barack Obama roll in, we should remember: They hated Margaret Thatcher. Hated her. Reviled her. Hated everything she stood for. Still do. So I do not really want to hear any tributes to her from the left side of the political aisle today. If you were not around at the time, it will be hard for you to appreciate the vulgarity and the cruelty of the attacks to which she was subjected. They hated her for the same reason they hated Reagan: She aimed to defeat socialism abroad and socialism at home,…”
