We already knew Obama and his thugs were out of control. This is just one more example. And don’t think this is limited to Rosen and Fox. The search warrant accuses Rosen of “conspiring” with someone to get information. In other words, he was talking to sources to get information, which is exactly what reporters are supposed to do. So now a reporter doing his job is a crime? And those silly ‘journalists’ thought Obama would spare them for his gestapos. Fox is reporting, btw, that two reporters and a producer have been tracked by the DOJ.

WaPo: A rare peek into a Justice Department leak probe

Fox: Justice Department obtained records of Fox News journalist

Via Daily Caller.

Before the Justice Department was secretly obtaining phone records of Associated Press reporters, the Obama administration was investigating a Fox News journalist.

The Washington Post reported Sunday evening that the federal authorities went to great lengths to investigate how James Rosen, the chief Washington correspondent for Fox News, was able to report on classified intelligence on North Korea in 2009.

According to the Post, the Justice Department went further in investigating Rosen than they did with AP reporters. They obtained his security badge access records at the State Department, looked at records of his calls with a specific State Department adviser and even went through his personal e-mails.

Investigators, according to the Washington Post, suspected that Rosen was given classified information by a State Department adviser named Stephen Jin-Woo Kim.

“Search warrants like these have a severe chilling effect on the free flow of important information to the public,” First Amendment lawyer Charles Tobin told the Washington Post. “That’s a very dangerous road to go down.”

Weasel Zippers captured some of the MSM’s initial reaction to this on Twitter, and it’s not good for the Dumb Bastard:

As Tammy has noted, the underlings take their cues from the top. For example, recall this Politico report from 2009:

White House senior adviser David Axelrod said Sunday that the Fox News Channel is “not really a news station” and that much of the programming is “not really news.”

When you de-legitimize someone, then it becomes emotionally alright to do bad things to them. It becomes okay to cross a line, because your target doesn’t really deserve civil treatment. (This is exactly what happened with Nixon’s people; go back and read their memoirs.)

This attitude was and is pervasive, and even prompted (I hate to mention her) Helen Thomas to speak up (again, back in 2009).

Following a testy exchange during Wednesday’s briefing with White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, veteran White House correspondent Helen Thomas told CNSNews.com that not even Richard Nixon tried to control the press the way President Obama is trying to control the press.

Do you think all those people with Obama phones are tapped?
Sadly, some are probably fine with that and the others are clueless….after all they are FREE.
