Our corrupt politicians will lie to get elected and then do what they want if the price is right – typical examples are McCain and Rubio.  We must contact our Representatives and tell them to vote ‘NO’ on the current immigration bill deemed “an earned path to citizenship” – code for amnesty.  Is an “earned path” began by breaking the law?  There is a March for Jobs in Washington, DC on July 15, 9:30 am starting at Freedom Plaza and marching to the Capitol to oppose amnesty. When “Gang of Eight” Senator John McCain faced a tough re-election campaign back in 2010, he found an issue that gave him an edge over his Republican primary challenger at a time when anti-incumbent sentiment was running high.    

“Drug and human smuggling, home invasions, murder,” observed McCain in a campaign ad. “We’re out-manned,” Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu adds as he walks with McCain along the U.S.-Mexico border, “With all the illegals in America, more than half come through Arizona.”

McCain asks, “Have we got the right plan?”

Without skipping a beat, Sheriff Babeu answers, “The plan’s perfect. You bring troops, state, county and local law enforcement together.” With a look of determination, McCain adds, “And complete that danged fence.” The Sheriff concludes with, “Senator, you’re one of us.”

During a candidates’ debate that same year in Florida, Marco Rubio’s Republican primary challenger, Gov. Charlie Crist, asserted that an earned path to citizenship for illegal immigrants would require them to “get in the back of the line, pay a fine if necessary, [pay] their back taxes, and be able to become productive members of the American economy,” said Crist.

“Earned path to citizenship is basically code for amnesty,” Rubio shot back, “it is unfair to the people that have legally entered this country to create an alternative pathway for individuals who entered illegally and knowingly did so.”

Three years after voters elected two Senate Republican candidates who pledged to secure America’s southern border, McCain and Rubio voted to pass S. 744–an “earned path to citizenship” that “is basically code for amnesty.” What accounts for their dramatic about-face?

According to the Washington Post, it’s money. “The major donors of the [Republican] party who serve as the bundlers of presidential campaigns and the funders of super PACs…have a very clear preference: They want a [immigration] deal done,” said the Post.

With campaign bundlers able to buy so much political influence, what is to stop them from pressuring the passage of an amnesty bill with mountains of cash to fill many a campaign war chest ahead of the 2014-midterm elections? The short answer is–you.

Why the March to preserve American jobs for American workers?

We believe it is time that members of Congress act to preserve economic opportunity for American workers – and pass immigration legislation that protects and supports the nearly 22 million American citizens who do not have jobs, or cannot find adequate employment to support their families. Economists report that labor participation in the U.S. is at its lowest rate in over 30 years.

Despite sluggish economic conditions, some in Congress have put forth immigration proposals to increase legal immigration levels by 50% and provide amnesty to over 11 million people who have entered the country illegally. We stand against these proposals, as they will result in adding millions more to the U.S. labor force, putting millions of American citizens out of work.
