So the boys and girls in DC couldn’t get an agreement on the Continuing Resolution, which they keep having to pass because they haven’t passed a budget in 5 years. One of the biggest casualties was the Panda Cam at the National Zoo. But its amazing what happens when you get off the Fed’s binky! The Ford Motor Company is now sponsoring the Panda Cam and it’s back up, replete with pics on mom and baby. Disaster averted.

Here’s a rundown of what ShutNado affects.

Watchdog.org: 7 myths about a federal government shutdown

Liberals are freaking out because they, of course, don’t want anyone to find out that you can have a partial shutdown of government and the sky will not fall. Even though Obama is going to do his best to punish us. Remember, none of this would be happening if these people didn’t always wait until the last week to deal with it.

Has ShutNado affected your life? If a ShutDown happens in bloated, intrusive forest, does it make a sound? Can’t wait to get your perspectives in this!

Congress misses deadline, sending government into partial shutdown

Congress blew by a midnight deadline to pass a crucial spending bill, triggering the beginning of a partial government shutdown – the first in 17 years.

Lawmakers missed the deadline after being unable to resolve their stand-off over ObamaCare, despite a volley of 11th-hour counterproposals from the House. Each time, Senate Democrats refused to consider any changes to ObamaCare as part of the budget bill.

House Republicans, for their part, refused to back off their demand that the budget bill include some measures to rein in the health care law – a large part of which, the so-called insurance “exchanges,” goes into effect on Tuesday.

As House Republicans endorsed one more counterproposal in the early morning hours, lawmakers spent the final minutes before midnight trying to assign blame to the other side of the aisle. Republicans are no doubt wary of the blowback their party felt during the Clinton-era shutdown, while Democrats were almost eager to pile the blame on the GOP.

The reaction on Twitter pretty much sums up the ridicule being tossed at the clowns in DC. Here’s a sampling:

Who will walk BO (the dog, *not* the Preezy) tomorrow morning? Can they still afford the $100K dog walker, or will Valerie Jarrett have to take over?

Who will monitor all the school kids, to make sure they eat their FLOTUS-approved whole wheat arugula sammies ?

Will John Kerry be able to continue with his botox treatments?

Will Mooch have to sell her $8K handbag?

On next vacay, will Bo the dog be “forced” to travel on Air Force One, instead of his own Osprey helicopter?

Gosh, how will I *ever* be able to sleep tonight, with all these uncertainties 🙂

Sorry Shifra, I’m more worried about my (2-2) Cowboys right now. Who will win the NFC East? The horror of it all! 🙂

Kitten….I’m with ya….just crawling out from under my bed, whos next…? oh, Peyton Manning and the Broncos, on National Tv?

I could give you a bunch of mind numbing stats on that game, but you’re already worried, and I don’t want Tammy mad at me for talkin sports on her post….been a Dallas fan since ’61….ouch.

My husband is in Maryland right now in the midst of some long-awaited training. He called earlier today and said that his class would be suspended and he would be on a flight home tomorrow if the shutdown went through. So it’s not all Panda Cams and cowboy poetry.

That said, I’m not sorry for the shutdown, and not just because I’ll get to see my husband sooner than I had anticipated. It’ll be interesting to see just how President “Don’t Call My Bluff” StompyFoot reacts to John Boehner having found his spine. (Or maybe Boehner just borrowed some of Ted Cruz’s, as he appears to have spine to spare; either way, I’m happy.)

I’m all for shutting down the government to help rein in spending and to stand up to Obama’s bullying tactics, but remember not all “government employees” work for the EPA or voted for Obama. Some will willingly take a furlough if it’s going to help the country in the long run.

Before any restart of the money flow. The NSA should use their massive computing system for an accounting of every one of the 17 trillion dollars of debt. Pointless to throw new fake money at wherever the first 17 trill went.

One unintended consequence has resulted in the gubmint (brief) shutdown, OBummerCare shut down too! I’ll bet Reid and OBummer didn’t see that coming. But they could care less. This albatross was never supposed to work. It’s all about controlling you. To borrow a Tammy-ism: on OBummerCare, “This is America, try it on the French! (I love that) They are both traitors to this country and should be shackled and thrown in some dungeon where we can all point and laugh at them. Tammy is sooo right when she said, “if Obama could, he’d stop social security checks from going out.” At this point, who in America doesn’t believe this? He has NO soul, this man.

I, too, believe this shutdown will be brief. The Dems want it, and the GOP hasn’t the (organs that produces reproductive cells) to play *hardball*. Is that wrong? They will cave as soon as the door opens and a cool breeze blows in. OBummer’s media in full force blame mode as Congress’ approval rating tanks…Orangeman is turning gray…they won’t last til the end of the week. #ForAmerica

The most pathetic and hilariously desperate thing of all is the Google Doodle today showing the 123rd anniversary of Yosemite National Park. Wow, thanks Google, that really rubs salt in the wound! I guess now they’ll miss that major milestone! Not just 121 or 122 but 123!!! I forgot about all the major festivities that were being planned for that!!

I hope they shut their bleeping mouths along with all those parks and places they charge us an arm and a leg to visit. But the people that work still get paid. It is no different than business as usual. They get paid at our expense for doing nothing. What’s new.

Love this. This Friday, Ireland will have a referendum vote on abolishing its Senate. Ireland’s Senate is not popularly elected; some appointed positions and the rest, elected by the local political party. So this is similar to UK removing power from its House of Lords. But still the underlying reason is there as stated by Trinity College Dublin professor: “People want politicians to suffer the way they’ve suffered…”
