Great insight for Christie to consider, Tammy. Question is, will he learn the lesson, or will he just be more careful in the future? Time will certainly tell.

If we can’t run with Reaganesque, I guess we’ll have to settle for Rubenesque.

Terrific article and thought provoking! Unfortunately, I do not have much hope for Christie. He has never denounced Obamacare and he appointed a ProIslamic Judge, correct me if I am wrong on both accounts. Although he has done everything right or what appears to be regarding this recent crisis/scandal, I am not sure how sincere his contrition is, and I just don’t trust that he will change. I tend to be an optimist, but I have gone back and forth with him for obvious reason. This article illuminates the very issue of we shall see…..

    Excellent column Tammy.

I question the choices of Republican ‘leaders’ nowadays. Minor example; Eric Cantor’s current op-ed in NY Post argues for school choice/vouchers. Correct position if boring writing. But in tying the education position to MLK, he ends with the arc bending phrase.

“…He knew this dream would be a reality because, as he often said, ‘the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.’ Education opportunity is justice for those children trapped in failing schools. And the arc is bending.”

That’s Obamas favorite phrase, so much so, that he has it in the oval office rug. If Cantor was a trueblue conservative, I might think that he’s tweaking Obama, but as is, I’m wondering why his speech writers didn’t try to find some other way to tie to MLK. It has to be easy to make another choice. So is there some kind of signal there, that Republicans will increase education spending as long as Obama goes along with school vouchers?
