de blasio

NYC now has a far-Left, Progressive mayor, thanks to the unions.

He owes them everything.

Hence, his push for universal Pre-K; The unions want it, and de Blasio promises to deliver.

Several weeks ago, he and the unelected/annoying co-mayor Mrs. de Blasio, ran around the city making fancy speeches about the need for universal Pre-K.

Mrs. de Blasio called it “the defining civil rights issue of our time.”

And a (bogus) study was cited, claiming that third grade reading scores predict future prison populations.

(You can now threaten your third graders: “Do you homework, or you’re gonna end up in jail!”)

And now, this:

Via NY Post: De Blasio says pre-K expansion will curb student suicides

Suicide prevention starts in preschool . . . or so says Dr. de Blasio.

The mayor…called the suicide epidemic sweeping city schoolkids “troubling” — and then said he believes his proposed pre-K program could help curb the trend….

But not everyone appreciated de Blasio’s not-so-subtle plug for his pre-K agenda, which includes taxing the wealthy to finance it.

“The whole world doesn’t revolve around pre-K,” said Mona Davids, president of the New York City Parents’ Union.

“Suicides have nothing to do with pre-K,’’ she said. “Shame on the mayor for connecting the two.”

Well said.

You’re kidding, right? De Blah couldn’t really have said that. Could he (I ask naively)?

  2. Maynard says:

He doesn’t need a tax hike. Closing down those non-union successful charter schools should give him plenty of money to shovel into his unionized altars of child sacrifice.

Gee, I wonder if Universal Pre-K will stop people from voting for morons?

Pre-K? Kids at that age don’t watch Barney on TV anymore?
