But no, this is serious.
Well, as serious as an irrational, Jew-hating nut job Arab journalist could be.
This was first reported by MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute), a watchdog group providing translations of all the lies, hypocrisy and absurdities in the Arab media.

Via Times of Israel: Israel to pay for 10 Plagues?
….Ahmad al-Gamal, an Egyptian columnist for Egyptian daily Al-Yawm Al-Sabi, advocated in the newspaper on March 11 that Egypt sue the State of Israel for damages caused by the 10 Biblical plagues….
“We want compensation for the plagues that were inflicted upon [us] as a result of the curses that the Jews’ ancient forefathers [cast] upon our ancient forefathers, who did not deserve to pay for the mistake that Egypt’s ruler at the time, Pharaoh, committed,” the cranky journalist wrote….
According to the Biblical Book of Exodus, the Egyptian king prevented Moses from liberating the Jews and leading them out of Egypt.
The plagues that summarily struck Egypt in consequence included the Nile turning into blood, an outbreak of lice, diseased livestock, boils, and so on, culminating in darkness and the deaths of all Egyptian firstborn males….
Al-Gamal claims that it was Pharoah, not the Egyptians, who oppressed the Jews in Egypt.
Well, following this journalist’s “logic,” it was God, not the Jews, who inflicted the ten plagues on the Egyptians.
So, shouldn’t he call for the Egyptian government to sue…God?
Al-Gamal also calls for lawsuits against Turkey, for the “Ottoman occupation,” against France, for the “Napoleonic invasion”, and Britain, for “colonialism.”
Well, I have a terrific suggestion for an attorney for these lawsuits.
She used to be a trial lawyer, before she went into politics.

As I recall in the bible it wasn’t Pharaoh, Moses, or the Jews who inflicted the plagues, it was God, and in God’s perfect timing they will get their due.

The Jews need to pay reparations to the Egyptians for the Plagues. On the other hand, the Egyptians need to pay back wages plus interest for 400 years of Hebrew slavery. Although, to be fair, I guess some of that was paid when the fleeing Hebrews got to carry off Egyptian wealth. But then they squandered it on that stupid golden calf. By the way, whatever became of that golden calf? Is it in some big government warehouse next to the Ark? Or maybe Shifra has it stashed in her attic?

A section in “The Gold of Exodus” by Howard Blum claims all the gold was buried in the desert, and that the Saudi government secretly found and recovered it. The book reads like fiction in parts, and I believe much of it likely IS fiction, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

I find the request for compensation overcome by circumstances. Specifically by the circumstances of June 1967 when Egypt launched a war against Israel. (Egypt was then called the United Arab Republic.) The loser of a war doesn’t get to say, that war doesn’t matter, war what war.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the Statute of Limitations has run out on this one.

So…wouldn’t the plagues be considered, “An act of God,” which has been used to dismiss all manner of lawsuits. You know…this is eerily similar to demands for reparations from the liberal blacks. Move on people, you don’t have a case; the injured parties are all dead.
