I loved both Barney and Miss Beazley. Now they’re both in God’s dog park, which is probably pretty fantastic. Barney passed away last year and Miss Beazley had cancer, but we know that she had a terrific 10 years of life. May, by the way, is Pet Cancer Awareness Month. Hopefully some day we’ll be able to cure both human and pet cancer.

Unlike certain presidents who get dogs for the PR value, the Bushes really loved their dogs. I’m sure some day we’ll see a new addition to the Bush family. Send prayers for Miss Beazley and the Bushes. We know what it’s like to lose a furkid.

Miss Beazley, former President George W. Bush’s beloved Scottish terrier, has died.

Bush’s office announced Saturday that Miss Beazley was “put to rest” this weekend after battling cancer. She was nearly 10 years old.

The statement says Miss Beazley was “a source of joy” during Bush’s time in Washington and in Dallas, where he and his wife, Laura, live.

Miss Beazley was born in October 2004. The pooch was later presented to Laura Bush as a birthday present from her husband.

The family pet was featured in a December 2005 video, “A Very Beazley Christmas” — a look at White House holiday life presented from a dog’s point of view.

The dog was named for the character Uncle Beazley, a dinosaur in Oliver Butterworth’s children’s book, “The Enormous Egg.”

Here is the “A Very Beazley Christmas” from 2005. Both Barney and Beazley are very cute 🙂 It also makes me a little sad. Even though I was furious at him for the last two years of his term, this video is a reminder what it’s like to have people in the White House who actually like the country.

I am doubly sad: For the passing of Beazley, and also remembering what it was like *not* to have a DB in the WH 🙁

Contrast the beloved Bush pets against the Clintons, who summarily dumped Socks the Cat, and later Buddy the Dog’s life was cut short under shadowy circumstances, much like Vince Foster and Ambassador Stevens.

No! Miss Beazley :'( I looked at every picture in the album last year when Barney died. (Both Barney and Miss Beazley’s albums are on Pres. Bush’s Facebook page. They are beautiful pictures: https://www.facebook.com/#!/georgewbush/photos_albums ) They were such adorable dogs. I know Pres. and Mrs. Bush loved them very much.

Although Bush basically governed as a patriotic socialist, it is amazing what a warm human being he is compared to the cold, shallow SOB who currently infests the Oval Office.

Indeed Ashley, infest is the proper term for what occupies the W.H., like a nest of roaches. I feel for them at their furry friends passing, those little creatures showed more loving to people than what’s in there now. You can be sure that they are patiently awaiting their former masters arrival to that place of love and light.

The little Beazley Christmas was so darned cute, it put a smile on my face. 🙂 It was so nice to see the very smiling faces of Pres. Bush, and the lovely first lady Laura. Real down to earth people, unlike the scowling (P.O.d) countenances of the present occupants.
