Shinseki

If Obama had his way Shinseki would have stayed and stayed and stayed. Now the spotlight is on Obama, and if he handles the rest of the debacle the way he handled this morning’s press conference, he’s in a world of trouble he never could have imagined.

Fox News: Shinseki resigns over growing VA scandal

President Obama announced Friday that embattled Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki would take the fall for the rapidly growing scandal over veterans’ health care, accepting his resignation under pressure from members of both parties.

The president announced that Shinseki would resign after they met at the White House and he received an update on an internal review of the problems at the VA. The review showed the problems were not limited to just a few facilities, Obama said, adding: “It’s totally unacceptable. Our veterans deserve the best.”

On the heels of those and other findings, Obama said, “Secretary Shinseki offered me his own resignation — with considerable regret, I accepted.”

I’ll bet Shinseki is sorry he ever had anything to do with the dumb bastard.

  2. You know, I’m thinking that the Mrs. Fletcher metaphor is really coming true. Dead people because of corruption at the VA. A dead ambassador in Libya. Dead people because of Fast & Furious. Dead people due to the incompetence of ObamaCare. So if you see Obama coming; RUN LIKE THE WIND!

Shinseki knew he was toast when Obama gave him such an automaton endorsement last week. That was the Kiss of Death, and he knew it. The resignation only took this long because the General couldn’t find his Samurai sword any sooner. But this way out was better than staying at his post and remaining the shield for the DFB, all the while suffering the arrows and hatchet blows that would have continued to be inflicted upon him.
