There are few things more satisfying than seeing the mask ripped off of this kind of propaganda.

Via Independent Journal Review: Kyle Becker — ’13 Benghazis That Happened Under Bush’ Viral Meme Taken Apart & Destroyed Before Your Very Eyes

Many of us have seen the narratives refuting “Benghazigate.”

“Where was the outrage about all those embassy attacks under Bush? What about all the people killed in those attacks? Where was Fox News then?”

….One of the best-known versions of this meme is the ridiculous screed at Huffington Post “13 Benghazis That Occurred on Bush’s Watch Without a Peep from Fox News,” which has around 90K shares and likely well over a million views.

The post was nearly replicated on numerous left-wing sites, such as Daily Kos, theDaily Banter, and Policy Mic.

Here goes: the “13 Benghazis That Occurred on Bush’s Watch Without a Peep from Fox News” – cases versus reality….

Is Hillary circling the wagons or just seeing double?

Speaking of the Left’s phony memes; an explanation of how the left believes it got around the Constitutions’s Origination clause with the increase taxes Ocare Act. The Senate took a six page House bill on tax credits for soldiers, deleted every word after the introductory enacting clause and inserted the 2,000 page Ocare bill. No one can believe that the Senate won’t do something similar with any small immigration bill especially because the Origination clause is not germaine to an immigration bill (not a tax bill). http://www.nationalreview.com/bench-memos/378254/cantor-and-mccarthy-join-judicial-education-project-amicus-brief-origination

Another meme that’s been making the rounds for a while is that the very states that have large conservative constituencies that say they want a smaller federal gov’t are the same states which depend the most on federal subsidies, provided by the taxes that come from the blue states. The Left has been using this in answer to Romney’s “47%” comment from the 2012 election, crowing that in fact the red states are the “welfare queens.”

I’ve tried to track down the nuance of this since Rand Paul pointed out that a lot of times this is due to military bases residing in red states, though I haven’t been able to find sources that talk about the specifics. They just talk about federal contract outlays by state, and federal money transfers to states to subsidize state programs.

I did find one blog post which got a little bit into the process of how the money transfers work. It said that the reason the red states get the most in federal largesse is that they have more productive economies than the blue states, and so produce more of the federal tax revenue (contrary to what the meme suggests). Overall spending is prioritized to states that provide the revenue. Secondly, I think it said that if you look at just welfare outlays, the blue states get far more than the red states.

Only thing was this was written by a survivalist, so I don’t imagine this information coming from such a source has broad appeal or credibility. Secondly, it did not provide primary source information so that this could be verified. I think a right-leaning think tank could do the movement some good by addressing this, and settling the issue about whether the red states in fact are dependent, drawing more than they pay in, or whether it’s more a matter of “you get what you pay for.”

Sometimes I wonder if these leftists are being disingenuous or are just stupid. The “13 Benghazis” obviously weren’t like Benghazi at all, and WHEN did Bush’s administration ever order those who could respond to any attacks to stand down? NEVER. Unlike the current administration, Bush didn’t appease the enemy or make back room deals with Islamofascists…

The meme about “13 Benghazis under Bush” has been around since Benghazi happened. I remember seeing it then. I didn’t give it much credence, since what the Left is doing is claiming that an ambassador is just another lowly staff position within the gov’t. They can say, “When these incidents happened under Bush, you didn’t hear us complain. This should be no different.” If that’s how they feel, we can’t expect competent people to take on ambassadorial positions, and we’ve seen that borne out.
