And the clusterfark continues. This second confirmed infection is a person from the team that treated Duncan in Texas. She flew from Cleveland to Dallas the day before presenting at the hospital with a fever. Ebola has been confirmed. The CDC is now scrambling to reach the 132 other people on the flight.
Instapundit has a resonable suggestion about this debacle:
Just a reminder, neither this infection or the infection of Nina Pham had to happen. They are a direct result of the refusal of this administration to isolate infected countries. And yet they continue to argue that stopping flights from West Africa, or simply stopping anyone who has been in those countries, from entering somehow wouldn’t make a difference. How does keeping infected people from entering this country not help?
The second healthcare worker who tested positive for Ebola last night flew by air Oct. 13th, the day before she reported symptoms, reported the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in a release.
She flew on Frontier Airlines flight 1143 Cleveland to Dallas/Fort Worth. The CDC is asking all 132 passangers on the flight to call 1 800-CDC INFO (1 800-232-4636).
And from the NY Daily News:
The second health care worker infected with Ebola is a Dallas nurse who was on a plane the day before she was diagnosed.
Amber Vinson helped treat the U.S.’s first Ebola patient, her family told Dallas’ WFAA.
The 29-year-old flew out of Ohio’s Cleveland Hopkins International Airport to Dallas on Frontier Airlines Monday, the eve of her diagnosis, the airline confirmed Wednesday.
While the crew said Vinson did not appear ill during the flight, Frontier asked all 132 passengers on Flight 1143 to check in with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The jet has been removed from service for cleaning.
Vinson is one of 77 hospital employees who had contact with “patient zero” Thomas Eric Duncan before he died from the virus last week. She’s one of two who have tested positive for Ebola.
“We are preparing contingencies for more. That is a very real possibility,” Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said at a Wednesday press conference.
In the meantime…
Obama so upset 2nd infected worker flew from Cleveland w/ 132 passengers, at today’s fundraiser he almost cut himself on the cheese slicer.

That plane’s flight crew has continued to fly. Are they going to be grounded now? If no announcement is made regarding crew’s grounding, my advice; don’t fly Frontier Airlines for a while.
Oh, and paging Dr. Fine, Dr. Frieden, Dr. Fine…
John Hagee, the Protestant preacher is probably loving this. He predicted that the four blood moons appearing on the four Jewish holidays would represent the four horsemen of the apocalypse. The first meaning wars( and started in the mideaast uprising) the second meaning plagues( which started with the the USA ebola outbreeak) the next 2 meaning famine and death. Coming soon March 20th and April 4th 2015. So much for worrying about your 401K.
Having trouble keeping track, is Operation Incoherent Resolve for ISIS or Ebola?
Alain41: LOL! There should be an app for that 🙂
Should be renamed Operation Incompetent and Unresolved.
Another roll of the dice by the administration and the country comes up snake eyes as usual. In fact more than the law of averages would predict.
Looks like death…but first chi chi!
Today on Rush’s show, the plane was referred to as the Ebola Gay.
New name for Obama, the Obolatollah. Since he likes having his name on everything, let him own this too.
I gotta get me one of these.
There is no benefit to allowing obvious potential vessels of this virus fly in from affected areas. With our elevated level of health, vitamins, meds, aggressive treatments, the bug too might become equally more robust.
