Oh look, Obama had to do something other than put his feet on the desk in the oval office.

No longer protected by Dem troll Harry Reid, Obama is going to be exposed for the malevolent obstructionist he really is.

Via The Hill.

President Obama on Tuesday vetoed legislation authorizing construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline, rebuffing the new Republican Congress amid a furious battle over Homeland Security funding.

The veto — just the third of Obama’s presidency and his first of major legislation — was made in private and without fanfare, reflecting tensions in the Democratic Party over whether the controversial pipeline should be approved.

“Through this bill the United States Congress attempts to circumvent longstanding and proven processes for determining whether or not building and operating a cross-border pipeline serves the national interest,” Obama said in his veto statement.

“The presidential power to veto is one I take seriously … and because this act of Congress conflicts with established executive branch procedures and cuts short thorough consideration of issues that could bear on our national interest — including our security, safety and environment — it has earned my veto.”
Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) ripped the veto, calling it a “national embarrassment.”

Even worse than not loving us? The guy doesn’t even like us.

If memory serves, Obama was aggressively equivocal regarding the Keystone XL as long as Reid kept legislation away from his desk. Obama was studying, pondering, contemplating, considering, awaiting information. Which may be politically effective — it worked for him — but inconsistent with a leader who pledges openness and transparency. He does everything he can to distract and confuse, exposing his true intent only as a last resort. This is the sort of behavior that sours all people about politics. Just as we were troubled by the “conservative” George Bush. We feel like fools if we expected any “truth in advertising” in our candidates. Is it possible for a straight-shooter, a plain speaker, to navigate the political seas? Are we doomed to be governed by mealy-mouthed sneaks?

In order to save the Keystone Pipeline, he has to kill it. Obama is consistent. To save health care, he had to destroy it. To save the Middle East, he has to stay out of it. To fix America, he has to ruin it.

Destroy the village to save it was never a good argument.

He is very transparent in this Keystone veto…although, he wouldn’t ever admit it. The project creates jobs, well paying, home buying, family raising jobs. This goes against everything the messiah (lower case m) believes in. And the same is true for a great many of these neo-Democrats. Americans succeeding, raising their families…on their own, without dependence on the Feds is the very foundation of freedom. Obama and his minions only believe in control of the people. Dependent on Gov healthcare (ACA), anti-gun (obvious), control of speech (FCC internet control). Fed control of eduction…on and on….it is all about control.

Question is, what is the GOP going to go about it? Where are the strategists in the Republican party? The people who know how to take this fight/every fight against this admin directly to the American people. Is everybody running for the hills with the “Scream” face on because OJerk vetoed the Keystone bill?

I’m with Tammy. Keep ’em coming, and mount an offensive directly to the American people of what the man-child in the WH is NOT doing. Time to flip the script.
