obama-george washington

Today is Presidents’ Day.

George Washington:

“First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen.”

Barack Hussein Obama:

He lied to the American people. All the time.

Via Free Beacon: Bombs Over Erbil

It was an applause line during almost every campaign address made by President Obama in 2012: “I promised to end the war in Iraq, and I did.”

Now, he’s backing off.

President Obama ordered a full troop withdrawal from Iraq, which was completed in December 2011. But the country did not stabilize, as was predicted by Obama and key members of his administration. Instead, it has descended into greater chaos with the violent al Qaeda offshoot ISIL threatening to take over the country….

In June, Obama made a similar denial when asked if he had regrets about not leaving a residual force in Iraq.

“Keep in mind, that wasn’t a decision made by me,” he said. “That was a decision made by the Iraqi government.”

How strong is the US? We survived six years without a President in the white House.

First Obama trumpets that he ended the war. Then, when there’s a problem, he blames the Iraqi government…which is a pathetic half-truth. My understanding: We negotiated with the Iraqi government, and they asked for stuff which we didn’t want to give them (which was to be expected), and we could easily have just pressed the argument (and we would have gotten our way) but instead we walked out. So now Obama’s got someone to blame.

I despise Obama’s ideology, but worse than that I despise the endless barrage of blatant lies that obfuscate his actions. If politicians would speak plainly, then at least we could have an honest debate, and proceed with open eyes. Instead, We the People are regarded as a liability, an impediment to governance. Lie, lie, lie, and what can we do? Obamacare, Iraq, the deficit, same-sex marriage, the economy, global warming…it just goes on and on, for no purpose other than manipulation. Jonathan Gruber showed us the honest face of modern politics. And the end result is that reasonable Americans come to regard their government as undemocratic; an oligarchy that does what it wants, and to hell with the people.
