Psychic

You’d think they would have known they were going to get caught.

Really, every day there’s something that makes me laugh out loud and scream at the same time. And it’s not a good thing.

Via Free Beacon.

A senior Veterans Affairs official misused her position by encouraging subordinates to pay for psychic readings, federal watchdogs said on Thursday.

Lucy Filipov, the assistant director of the VA’s Philadelphia regional office, pressured employees to attend a private gathering, where a colleague’s wife charged them for the readings, the department’s inspector general said in a report.

Gary Hodge, the psychic’s husband and a pension manager in the regional office, failed to report income from his wife’s psychic business on financial disclosure forms, in apparent violation of ethics rules, the report found…

VA’s Philadelphia office, one of its largest regional centers, has been plagued by scandal over the last year in the wake of reports of rampant mismanagement and attempts to cover up abuses exposed by internal whistleblowers.

Thursday’s report suggests that Filipov’s inappropriate promotion of a colleague’s wife’s psychic business interests could exacerbate employee mistrust of VA management.

The IG expressed some confusion over whether she is a psychic or a medium.

“In general, a psychic is someone with the ability to see future events or discern someone’s fate, whereas a medium communicates with deceased spirits,” the report explains.

At varying times, Hodge’s wife described herself as a psychic and a medium. “Therefore, in the absence of a clear definition and based on records and testimony, we refer to Mr. Hodge’s spouse as both a psychic and a medium within this report.”

Actually I’d rather our leaders consulted psychics, because they’d make better decisions.

This is a goofy story, but depending on the nuances of the situation, it could be in fun. Okay, you’re an employee, and you go along with the boss, and his wife is doing psychic readings for (it says) $15 to $35…well, this could just a little thing you do to keep him happy and maybe even have some fun (probably more fun than buying him a Christmas holiday gift for the same amount). And I don’t particularly care whether somebody files a Schedule C for their little cash hobby, unless it’s a really big business.

The field is full of frauds, but I believe two I’ve seen on TV. I can think of a couple of others I thought were frauds.

BTW, thank you Tammy for sharing your sighting of a ghost in the back yard of a home when you lived in LA. For what it’s worth, our peripheral vision is more sensitive to flickers (motion) than our central vision. I have a relative who reported seeing something repeated times out of the corner of her eye, after her son was killed.

Good grief, the B.S. in government never ceases does it. They seem to be filled with nothing but scam artists and crooks who try to fleece everyone they come in contact with. Nothing but corruption from top to bottom. Beware of someone who says, “I’m from the government and I’m here to help you”.

As soon as I saw that photograph, the following phrase immediately popped into my head:

‘Eenie meenie chili beanie, the spirits are about to speak~!’

The VA could get rid of all the doctors and nurses and replace them with psychic healers for the veterans. They have fallen down the rabbit hole. Why are these nimrods still working at the VA?

A horrible private sector emboldens gov’t managers to push these little tyrant acts because they know that employees have little chance to go elsewhere. Especially in health care with federal gov’t taking it over. And not to mention there has been no discipline of gov’t employees for wrongdoing and the WH ‘leadership’ is negative affirming.
