The V.A. problem was worse during the Vietnam War!

And anyway, it’s the Republicans’ fault… Sequestration!

There was no IRS targeting of the Tea Party… Congress had passed a crummy law!

But government works better now than ever before!

Via Breitbart:

….While talking about the VA in the broader context of government efficiency, Obama stated, [relevant remarks begin around 7:17] “when there was that problem with the IRS, everybody jumped including you…’Look, you’ve got this back office, and they’re going after the Tea Party.’ Well, it turned out, no, Congress had passed a crummy law that didn’t give people guidance in terms of what it was they were trying to do. They did it poorly and stupidly. … But, the truth of the matter is is that there was not some big conspiracy there. They were trying to sort out these conflicting demands.” He added that the “real scandal around the IRS right now” is its lack of funding.

Later, towards the end of the interview, Obama declared, “The VA is better now, than when I came into office. It is better now than when I came into office. Government works better than when I came into office.”

I see where Obama will allow immigrants taking their naturalized citizen’s oath will be allowed to not say they will defend the U.S. if they have some peacenik objection including religious objection. That is more than opposite of the position that he took on Hobby Lobby where it was not sufficient that it offered many forms of birth control but it didn’t want to offer 4(?) types of birth control that are abortifacients. Gee, wonder if any reporter will inquire as to this inconsistency.

The IRS scandal started with Lois Lerner’s planted question and her apology, in an attempt to get ahead of the potential scandal and preemptively lay it to rest. Now it never happened, and the IRS merely followed policy. In sum, Obama’s has replaced his small lie with a big lie.

The sad reality is that in the world of politics, big lies have more traction than small lies. This is because normal people have daily experience with small lies, sometimes for benign reasons, so we recognize them and discount them. But we’re flummoxed by what would seem to be a complete disconnect from reality; we don’t see that every day, and we can’t really believe the president of the United States would do such a thing. Too many people pause and think there must be some misunderstanding, and they stand down at that critical moment when they should rise up. Thus do evil counselors rise to power.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”—Joseph Goebells, Reich Minister for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda, Nazi Germany, 1933-1945

Exactly. You’d think these media lapdogs would tire of licking the mud off his boots. They have acquired a taste for lies and deceit as they vie to keep their seat at his feet. Their motto: Keep the lie alive, no matter what truth is revealed.
