resilient-1

Could someone please buy this woman a dictionary?

She does not want the people of New Orleans to be called ‘resilient.’

Because…racism!

And yes, the movie ‘Airplane!’ does come to mind. 🙂

Via Mediaite:

An MSNBC guest today told Melissa Harris-Perry that she doesn’t want people using the word “resilient” in describing Hurricane Katrina victims.

Louisiana Justice Institute President Tracie Washington‘s name has been found on this poster, one of many put up around New Orleans:

She explained to Harris-Perry that she doesn’t like the term and politicians shouldn’t use it because “it represents an unnatural state” and is basically a conditioning of people to perhaps expect more they will have to be resilient against….

Resilience and victim hood are mutually exclusive.

The Left will make words mean what they want them to mean. Never mind what resilience really means. The key is if we allow her to get away with it.

I understand that certain strains of viruses and bacteria have become resilient.

In 1968, MLK went to Memphis to support a sanitation worker’s strike. The speech he gave was the, I Am a Man, speech. Some strikers wore or held signs with I Am a Man on them. MLK was assassinated the next day. Nearly 50 years later, I don’t conclude that MLK’s message was: I Am a Man. I am not resilient.

It’s okay to call her stupid. She knows what you really mean is she’s stupendous.
