One of my key questions has been how well Fiorina ran HP. The skills required to manage a huge, clunky corporation are similar to the skills required to manage a huge, clunky bureaucracy. Of course, “investigations” tend to be driven by an agenda/narrative, so it’s hard for a civilian to form a meaningful opinion. FWIW, I’m copying a comment I saw posted elsewhere on the web; I’m not saying it’s the final word or even relevant or true, but it’s an interesting data point:

But Carly is a fan of Machiavelli. I kid you not, she wrote her treatise in grad school on him. Further, she ran HP like a Machiavellian. I know, I was there. Look, I’m a very conservative fellow. I like what she’s saying as much as the next conservative. But I’ve heard it all before. When she joined HP she said a lot about being honored to be in charge of the greatest company ever and then proceeded to make it into Carly’s hall of mirrors. The executive staff was pruned of anyone who didn’t bend to her will. The middle managers begin speaking about the “Triumph of the Will” as if it were a good thing, until they realized it was a bad thing. She’s not what you think. From first hand experience.

I worked at HP thru the Carly era. From my low-level employee perspective: She made impressive speeches, she was strong willed. From my low-level employee perspective, some of her decisions were bad for HP, she forced them thru. In particular the merging with Compaq was much better for Compaq than it was for HP. Stock price is still less than half what is was before that acquisition.

Before the Carly era, HP was always in the top 5 of companies to work for; can’t even make the top 100 list any more.

Not sure she can be blamed for the current state of affairs of HP. She has not been in charge for 10 years.

I purchased 2 HP computers in 2010 that died in about three year. The quality issue we experienced wasn’t under her watch. I won’t purchase another HP computer anytime soon.

Fiorina said, “We need a nominee who is going to throw every punch, not pull punches.” Gosh, she missed a golden opportunity to add, “…or in Hillary’s case, to drink punches.”

Excellent Hannity show. Not only Tammy and Katie, but also Mark Steyn, Jonah Goldberg, and Ann Coulter.

Here we go again. It’s Romney all over again. Conservatives are already saying she’s a RINO. The left doesn’t fear her so they will let her rise to the top just like they want Jeb Bush to also rise to the top. If the left doesn’t try to destroy her, then you better know you are pushing the wrong candidate.

Tammy was spot on as usual, but I think people may be concerned over Carly’s being fired at HP and also her losing the last election. On a superficial note, I just loved that jacket Tammy !
