benghaziattack

Sigh. This may in fact be the case, but does he need to say this on national television? I believe in this mission of the Benghazi committee, but this back and forth highlights how there is a lack of discipline which is cultivated by leadership in Congress, and a lack of communication between everyone. Which means there is an indictment of someone, finally from Congress: of John Boehner, Mitch McConnell and Reince Priebus who have allowed this dysfunction because they’re too busy protecting their “moderate” turf. What you’re seeing now in Congress confirms that failed current “leadership” and the importance of the achievement of Boehner’s resignation and the collapse of McCarthy.

There is so much at stake, they had better get back to work.

Here is some transcript and the full Face the Nation interview with Gowdy via Real Clear Politics.

JOHN DICKERSON, “FACE THE NATION” MODERATOR: Speaking of the the politicization of this, Carly Fiorina, running for president, rendered her view on what these hearings are about, or what this hearing is about this week. She said, ‘I wish for once Mrs. Clinton would be prepared to stand and be held accountable for murder of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya.’ What do you make that have comment, and is that what Thursday is about?

REP. TREY GOWDY (R-SC), BENGHAZI SELECT COMMITTEE CHAIR: No, that is not what Thursday is about. Thursday is about what happened before, during and after. Frankly, in Secretary Clinton’s defense, she’s going to have lot more information about the before than she is the during and the after.

I get that there’s presidential campaign going on. I have told my own Republican colleagues and friends, shut up talking about things that you don’t know anything about. And unless you’re on the committee, you have no idea what we’ve done, why we’ve done it and what new facts we have found. We have found new facts that have absolutely nothing to do with her. I get people don’t want to talk about that but the seven members of my committee are much more focused on the four dead Americans than we are anyone’s presidential aspirations.

If the only action Repub leadership take in opposition to Obama are show votes then any real activity possibly negative to a Dem will look like it’s against them. Show votes don’t lead. The unprincipled can’t lead.

Sounds like there is a lot of beneficial information pertaining to Benghazi that many people don’t know yet. How interesting the Amb. Stevens emails will be.

With respect to Benghazi, everyone gets lost in the details. We lose sight of the forest in the trees. People get confused and don’t know what to think. This is by design.

Step back and look at the big picture. What is the obvious smoking gun here? With respect to the deaths, it can be reasonably argued that there will always be breaches and lapses in security. That part that’s inexcusable and criminal is the lying after the fact. And we know the YouTube video was irrelevant. The people under attack were in contact with the rest of our State/military infrastructure. We knew it was a military attack as it happened. The difference between a military force and a mob is obvious. There is no possible excuse for the lies spread by Obama’s people. They made up a story to confuse the American people, and they put the YouTube guy in jail. This was blatant criminality, and indefensible. The rest is arguable, but there’s enough here to send Obama and his entire lousy crew to jail.

The GoP reminds me of the sweet, kind-hearted loutish Baby Huey of comic book fame. Good intentions spill all over the place as he blunders, thunders and crashes and smashes everything around him because he just can’t get out of his own way. Trey, if you can’t keep focus, especially in earshot of the press, will YOU please shut up?

Republican Representative Richard Hanna, last heard supporting Kevin McCarthy’s incorrect take on the Benghazi Committee, is now joining with Democrats to sponsor a Helsinki style Commission for the Iran Deal. It would be a joint House, Senate, and Administration Commission to oversee the implementation of the Iran Deal. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/dems-pitch-helsinki-committee-on-iran/article/2574301

So, Hanna supports Democrat bad mouthing of the Benghazi Committee and is joining with Democrats to help the Iran Deal get implemented. Waiting for all the pundits who bemoan Tea Party breaking up the Republican Party to comment on Hanna. Dum de dum, de dum,…, too to too, dum de dum,…. Still waiting….
