Haldeman and Ehrlichman wouldn’t be needed to snoop if Hillary was Nixon’s political opponent. Relative to Presidentin Dirty Tricks, Sunday NY Post Book Review on Presidential Campaign dirty tricks. One, of many, interesting tidbits, LBJ had a dirty tricks team called the, 5 o’clock club. Among other things, it infiltrated Goldwater HQs to take advance text of his speeches. Nixon must have felt a little like Illinois Gov. Rod B. when his ‘plumbers’ were caught in Watergate, but this has been going on for years, why me now?

I understand why Hillary wanted to run her own email server. If I were in her position, I’d want to do the same thing. It’s crushing to feel one is under continuous surveillance, and that no matter what you do, the records will be spun by opponents to make you look bad. And even supposedly-private records will be leaked or stolen and fall into public hands. Who can work that way? Who can live that way? That’s why I hate bureaucracy, and try to keep it from entangling my own life. That’s why Hillary is such a damned hypocrite; she’s been a lifelong aggressive advocate and architect of the sort of invasive control and oversight that she then exempts herself from. In a perverse way I almost respect Hillary for freeing herself and celebrating her triumph over the rules and the law; now I just wish she would do the same for the rest of us.

Should a military officer EVER do that (leave classified data in any form out unprotected as on a desk top), it is cause for immediate investigation and command disciplinary action, perhaps even an Article 32 investigation and courts martial. But then, some pigs are more equal than other pigs. Instead of slapping the fathead with a supersized helping of Wake-Up-Stupid discipline, let’s make her the Commander-in-Chief. Libs, always so, ever thus, with libs.
