Have some leftover food from holiday celebrations? Well, the EPA wants you to know that you probably contributed to the crazy weather we’ve been having lately.

Or something…

Via CNS News:

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) posted a video on its website to tell Americans that they should think about how much food they waste during the holiday season if they want to help save the planet.

The video is part of the EPA’s “Fight Food Waste” campaign.
In the video posted on YouTube and in the text accompanying it, EPA claims that food waste contributes to climate change.

“Most people don’t realize how much food they throw away every day — from uneaten leftovers to spoiled produce,” the EPA website states. “More than 96% of the food we throw away ends up in landfills.

“Once in landfills, food breaks down to produce methane, a potent greenhouse gas which contributes to climate change,” the text states. “So, this holiday season, take steps to cut down your food waste.” …

But if I eat the food, then it turns in to carbon dioxide. So I am a polluter either way. Some of the food is going to ferment in my colon and come out the backdoor as methane too. I think the EPA would rather I just kill myself and alleviate the poor planet of my polluting ways.

Roasting penguins on an open fire…

Terrific pic. My compliments to the chef.

Huge regulatory agencies become not just Big Brother but Big Mother also. Eg, eat your food, there are children starving in China/Africa… I guess Michelle’s school lunch program has made that a difficult sell.

Speaking of huge regulatory agencies, what is it with GOPe that they gave the IRS the power to revoke your passport (as part of the pork transportation bill, the FAST Act). Disgusting give away of citizen protection to an unaccountable behemoth.

With all that methane gas being created, you’d think that some enterprising soul would come up with a way to bottle up all that stuff and use it for energy so it would not pollute.
