Melissa H-P-1

That awkward moment when the host of a show throws a temper tantrum worthy of a twelve-year-old.

Via NY Post:

MSNBC on Friday called Melissa Harris-Perry’s decision to boycott her weekend show “really surprising, confusing and disappointing.”

Harris-Perry, who hosts a two-hour show on Saturday and Sunday, made the decision because was angry that the show had been pre-empted the past two weekends — in favor of election coverage, she said in a scathing memo to her staff.

Her show was back on MSNBC’s schedule this Saturday but she decided not to go on the air, saying management decided not to pre-empt it this week only to quiet media calls inquiring about her absence.

“I will not be used as a tool for [management’s] purposes,” Harris-Perry wrote in the memo. “I am not a token, mammy, or little brown bobble head….I love our show. I want it back. I have wept more tears than I can count, and I find this deeply painful, but I don’t want to be back on air at any cost.”….

Another NBC reporter who was a host of a weekend show was David Bloom. Remember how he covered the Iraq war because he wouldn’t be a tool for management’s purposes. Minority female NBC reporter lives matter or All NBC reporter lives matter? Tough call.

She may not be a token mammy but she’s no Rosa Parks.Previous boycotters were
dignified and brave.A boycott should be worth laying your life down for,not
a temper tantrum that makes one look foolish.
