Glad for anyone not named Trump – just my view..

  2. Americanvln1 says:

Congratulations to Senator Ted Cruz! Great play by play Tammy. Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck obviously contributing to the outcome of the Iowa caucus. The citizens of Iowa are reading and listening! Awesome!

  3. Maynard says:

I’d previously noted what Taranto said about “social acceptability bias”, and the idea that caucus people might be more hesitant to come out for Trump than a private voter. On the flip side, I thought Trump’s pro-ethanol push might help him in the corn belt, and Cruz’s anti-subsidy stance might hurt him. Who knows? Anyway, I’m glad to see Cruz come out on top.

  4. patriot67 says:

Congrats to Ted Cruz! I wonder how many boxes of tissue Karl Rove and the Republican establishment will go through tonight with their crying jags?

  5. dennisl59 says:

    Interesting Factoid:

‘Right To Rise’ the PAC that supports Jeb! spent ~$25,000 per vote in Iowa. At least that’s what the interwebs are reporting. Money Well Wasted.

Very happy with the result, but still wishing for some sort of Carly miracle :/

  7. rosebud2186 says:

I have been emailing Ted for weeks about mentioning rules of engagement…finally heard about it tonight! I will fall asleep thinking be finally heard me ; ) Seriously, I have been rooting for him since day one. I hope he doesn’t screw this up – that’s me being cautiously optimistic.

  8. Chuck says:

Having been all day in media blackout (I have work deadlines to meet), and though I have some reservations with all candidates (some more than others), I cannot be more than delighted with this result today. The last thing I wanted to see was a coronation on Day 1.

This is just the beginning: a month from now will be Super Tuesday, so in the meantime, hang in there. The road will get rougher.

Now the question is, with the close call for the democrats, will Sanders demand a recall?

  9. yayii says:

What was Tammy talking about on FOX and Friends First? Was she sleeping during the election return?

  10. Maynard says:

I heard a report that Hillary is beating Sanders by a 0.7% margin in Iowa. Which just confirms Sanders’ gripe about the power of the 1%.

  12. Pat_S says:

Evangelicals, who accounted for 64% of Republican caucus voters, made the difference for Cruz as they did previously for Huckabee and Santorum. Remains to be seen if Cruz’s fate will be the same as the prior two Iowa winners.

So glad to see Hillary humiliated.

Still trying to come to grips with the Sanders performance…is it an indication of the rejection of Cackling Cankles or is it the influence of the socialistic millennials? If the former, there will be more demonstrations of her flagging like-ability. If the latter, hold onto your seats, TAMs.

      • hektor says:

I just believe that the media love affair with the Clintons is on the wane. Bill Clinton looks old and awful. Passe’. The younger voters know little of 1992. She appears old and grumpy/frumpy and I do not think that very many can relate to her screech. Without Bill being what he once was, she has a very tough time ahead. If McCain was running, she could be a shoo-in – with Trump or Rubio, not so much. Can you imagine her addressing a Hispanic crowd with her phony accent followed by Cruz or Rubio?

  13. sandyl says:

Thank you God and please Bless Ted Cruz!! I’m thrilled with this win! Cruz has the whole package and he doesn’t have to lie, like Trump and Rubio to win. I am hoping that it will come down to a Cruz/Carly ticket too.

My big concern right now is Rubio. Tammy has always been right about him, he is an opportunist. That, IMO, is worse than an ideologue, because he will side with whomever is most beneficial to him–example Gang of 8. He is supported by a very rich-pro-amnesty guy; a team member wrote some questions for the debate, hired Frank Luntz for polling (which he won), and the vote counter: Microsoft is a Rubio supporter. Luckily we have new media today, so hopefully Rubio’s lies and alliances will continue to be exposed.

God Speed to New Hampshire Ted!!

    • yayii says:

You might want to check in with Dr Ben Csrson about lies…

      • sandyl says:

That misinformation was put out by CNN. Cruz camp simply emailed the story to other members of his team, but did not email the followup correction. I love Ben Carson too, but this was not initiated by the Cruz camp, and did not make a difference in the outcome.

I live in Omaha, sister city to Council Bluffs, people at the caucus knew what was going on, because they discuss and “campaign” before the vote. It’s not like a news story went out before I walked into my polling place.

        • Kimj7157 says:

“…but did not email the followup correction.” That’s the kicker. You’re right sandyl, it wouldn’t have made a difference in the outcome. It does make a difference in how I view Ted Cruz in terms of integrity. (He’s utlimately responsible for what comes out of his organization.)

If there hadn’t been the earlier “Voting Violation” mailer incident, I would be more inclined to see this as just a misunderstanding in the Cruz camp.

  14. cbldski says:

From what I understand, the people of Iowa were mad at Trump for skipping the republican debate.

I thought something like this was going to happen.

    Way to go Ted Cruz.

    • Vintageport says:

While no one on Fox was willing to state this opinion with any certainty, how can you debate the fact that it had to have had some impact? Just another misstep by the Trumpster.

  15. dennisl59 says:

The ‘saddest’ story? Jim Gilmore. If he drops out, no one will notice or care.

One win does not a nomination make. I still think that Sarah feels the
Establishment will never allow Ted to get it. They are betting on Rubio.
Not that keen on Trump but I don’t think they can touch him.

    • Kitten says:

Midget, agreed. One could even argue Trump is the ultimate moderate Republican. The fact that the media and GOP hates Trump and Cruz both, I’d “settle” for either. We must win. the goal is to defeat Hillary.

      • sandyl says:

I understand what you guys are saying, but I would comment that our goal is not to beat Hillary (if she is even the nominee-we fell for that in 2008) our goal is to get our country back, This is our last chance and if we simply change Obama for a Republican Obama, what have we won?

I was done with the “most electable” thing in 2012. I pray that Iowa showed that the rest of conservatives are done with that too.

        • Kitten says:

While I’m not convinced Cruz can win, neither am I convinced of Trump’s conservatism. One person is not going to win the country back for us. For me, any Republican will be better than any Democrat/Socialist, which is why I voted for Romney, and why I’ll be voting for whoever the GOP nominee is. All the hate and finger-pointing from ALL the camps divides us. These are politicians who will move on and buddy up to whoever wins. It’s what they do, look at Washington. This is why most people I know will vote for the GOP candidate, it doesn’t matter who it is.

  17. Mutnodjmet says:

Grateful for the good analysis from Tammy and the TAMs! On to New Hampshire!!!!

  18. tamcat says:

There was another revolution in America when Ronald Reagan was the ultimate conservative running for POTUS. The establishment Republicans and the media were spouting propaganda like we have today. Then they said Reagan not likable and couldn’t win. In both elections, Reagan won in a landslide both times. The same rhetoric now being said about Ted Cruz. Establishment Republicans back in the 1970’s didn’t want religion brought into the election. Establishment Republicans are now not liking the faith shown by Cruz. My point…Conservatisim and Faith are abundant in our country now, just like then.

  19. Gregger171 says:

I was hoping Trump could pull out an upset win in Iowa, but I wasn’t surprised Cruz won. He was leading in most polls for months, except for a few outliers in the final days leading up to the primary. My big surprise was Rubio’s strong third place showing. I don’t believe Ted Cruz has any chance to win a general election due to likability issues, and I believe this will be his only primary win. I’m in the Trump camp, but I could be swayed by a few other candidates.
