But Lois Lerner, Bowe Bergdahl and Hillary Clinton are all still wandering around. Got it.

A Campbell County man has pleaded guilty to lying about being attacked by a bear.

In September, Michael Savage, 28, of LaFollette, claimed he was walking along Demory Road in LaFollette early that morning when he was attacked by a bear. TWRA and local law enforcement responded, setting out traps and searching for the animal. The community was worried about the possibility of another attack.

A few days later, TWRA determined that Savage’s injuries– multiple lacerations on his chest and face, were not caused by a bear and that there was no evidence to support his claim.

Savage was charged with a felony count of filing a false report in February. On April 11, he appeared before Campbell County judge Shayne Sexton where he pleaded guilty.

Savage had already served four months behind bars while awaiting a plea bargain. Judge Sexton sentenced him to an additional 95 days in jail followed by two years of probation. He must also play $3,130 in court costs and fees.

Hey BooBoo! No animals were harmed in the making of this prisoner.

TN bear population has significantly increased due to conservation measures. TN allows hunting in some counties but not others. Guessing that he might not have hunting in his area and he wants it for the business opportunities. Since decision is made by the State of TN not the federal gov’t, I’m good with what TN’s decision is.
