TAMs may enjoy the new Helen Mirren film, “Eye in the Sky”. It’s effective and highly suspenseful, and it covers the politics of the drone wars without being preachy or pushing an agenda. There are some characters whose necks you’ll want to wring, but you’ll love the Mirren role. But I hasten to add the movie is not about making the people you hate look bad; they’ll probably be heroes to someone of another persuasion who watches the film.

In retrospect, the story is more than a little contrived, but it works and works well.

Bottom line, strongly recommended and Maynard-approved (but of course there’s no accounting for taste).

And the critics agree it’s a good film.

Tammy Note: Judy Miller has also done a review over at Tablet. She, too, liked it 🙂
