    Ready Now analogy/reference to watermelon becoming ripe. Older saying that’s fallen out of favor.

    (Grew up in Irondequoit NY, home to the famed Irondequoit Melon, which was said to be the sweetest cantaloupe in the world. Wiped out by disease in the 1930s. Still, melon sweetness and juiciness taken rather seriously.)
