hinckley

I remain outraged after all these years that this jackass managed to succeed with an insanity defense in the first place. You can be insane and know right from wrong. Hinckley demonstrated that by hiding around a corner befre ambushing President Reagan and his team. That act itself indicates an awareness that others may view what you’re about to do as wrong and try to stop you.

The fact is, it’s easy to seem “cured” when in a psych ward and someone is watching over you and your meds. We have paid for this scumbags medical treatment for decades. If he’s deemed ‘not a danger’ then we should simply transfer him into a normal prison. Ultimately, this is why we need to execute people like this, so they don’t eventually walk free.

But what a perfect addition to Obama’s last year. Releasing all the terrorists he can from Gitmo, bringing in other terrorists as “refugees” and now the release of the man who tried to murder Reagan.

Via USA Today.

John W. Hinckley Jr., who spent more than 35 years in a psychiatric hospital following his attempt to assassinate President Reagan in 1981, will be released into his mother’s care as early as next month under a federal court order.

In a 103-page court order, U.S. District Judge Paul L. Friedman of Washington wrote that Hinckley, 61, no longer poses a danger to himself or others.

The court said experts have found that Hinckley’s major depression and psychotic disorder “are in full and sustained remission and have been for more than 20 years” and that he is “clinically ready” to leave the hospital. He could be freed as soon as Aug. 5.

“I don’t like flipping around the TV, I want to do things,” a court document quoted Hinckley saying, according to the Associated Press. He also has said he wants to “fit in” and be “a good citizen.”

If he adheres to strict guidelines regarding his activities, Hinckley could be fully removed from court control in as soon as a year.

I coulnd’t agree more. Word is he will be living with his mother. Sleeping with one eye open would be a good move here.

Just in time for an attempt on Trump. Where’s Alex Jones on this one?

That we put this guy in the psych ward instead of prison shows that he’s not crazy; we are. And that we let him out is worse. (As I recall, RFK’s assassin was once actually scheduled for release by the bureaucrats, but public indignation prevented it. If this is what happens in high profile cases where at least there’s some public accountability, I shudder to think about how they handle the cases we don’t hear about.)

We can all agree that Muslims are the real victims here. And Jodie Foster.

I hope the court delved a little deeper into his comment that “I want to do things.”
