Barack Obama

According to WaPo, Obama doesn’t want to see the flooding because… he hates theatrics

Speaking at a news conference in flood-ravaged Louisiana on Thursday, Homeland Security Director Jeh Johnson said “the federal government is here, we have been here, and we’ll be here as long as it takes to help this community recover.”

Responding to criticism that President Obama has not interrupted his summer vacation on Martha’s Vineyard, Johnson said several times, “The president can’t be everywhere.”

Johnson also said the (golfing, vacationing) president “has a very busy schedule this fall and in the coming days,” hinting that Obama has no plans to go Louisiana.

“There’s been a lot of criticism about president Obama not visiting Louisiana. Will you be recommending that he come to Louisiana and visit?” a reporter asked Johnson….

“As I said, the president can’t be everywhere. I know he has a very busy schedule this fall and in the coming days, and uh, he is closely monitoring the situation. When you are the chief executive of the entire U.S. government, you can’t be everywhere, uh, including places you would like to be. Uh, but through me and through (FEMA Director) Craig Fugate, I know he is very much on top of this situation.”….

Yes, watch this video, and you will understand how busy POTUS really is.

I have mixed feelings about this sort of criticism. The problem with Obama isn’t his recreation; it’s that his policies are lousy. If the ship of state were in good hands, I wouldn’t care about his golf. And with the ship of state foundering, I would feel no better knowing Obama never left the Oval Office. And the Louisiana floodwaters aren’t going to go away because Obama shows up.

On the other hand, part of a leader’s job is to keep the morale up, and Obama generally does the opposite. The media can make anybody look bad if it chooses, but this isn’t just the hostile right-wing press; we see, for example, how Obama visibly steps into the battles that are near and dear to his heart, such as the BLM thugs. He’ll send the Cabinet to the funeral of some criminal who got shot by a policeman, while turning a deaf ear to the victims of Islamic terrorism. The message is loud and clear: We the people of the heartland are nobodies, except for a few of the president’s pet causes.

In contrast to Obama’s condescending tone, I appreciate Trump’s promise to stand up for the forgotten Americans. Maybe Trump is giving us a line of bulsh, but at least it’s good bulsh. We’ve had too many years of the bad stuff.

He’s been on vacation for 2 weeks . Donald Trump went to Louisiana & held a huge campaign rally in Michigan back to back & I’ll bet he didn’t nap in between . Oh and had a major staff change. Plus he was actively interacting while in Louisiana ! So Johnson’s remark falls flat . And by the way his busy fall schedule is to campaign for Hillary ! He needs to be reminded it is she who is running for President not him . So he deserves the criticism & he will have to own it ! The honor goes solely to Mr Trump this week ! And the voters will not forget !!

Why should Obama have realized there’s a problem? He probably figures everyone else walks on water like he does.

Been almost 8 years, has Obama stopped the waters from rising? Asking for a friend.

This is Obama ‘leading from behind’. Who knew that behind meant Martha’s Vineyard and leading meant Fore.

The DB is now going to LA on Tuesday.

Barry could care less about the suffering in LA. He’s business as usual on the links. Secret Service had quite a convoy of golf carts following him around.
