hillary plane

Because flying commercial is for the “little people.”

Via NY Post.

Hillary Clinton summoned the Air Force to fly her from New York to Washington, DC, seven years ago because she didn’t want to use the “burdensome” commercial shuttle, according to newly released e-mails….

“Do you think we could get a plane for Westchester flight back tonight?” Clinton wrote in an e-mail released this week by Judicial Watch, the conservative watchdog that sued the State Department for the records.

“It’s going to rain all day and I still don’t feel great, so the idea of playing a guessing game w the shuttle is really burdensome to me. What do you think? Could be any time that works for the Air Force,” Clinton told Abedin.

An hour and 40 minutes later, the trusted aide replied: “Yes of course. Looking into it. Around what time do u think?”

“Six or 7 — does that work?” Clinton asked.

Abedin quickly got the job done. “Plan confirmed. Its the c21, the little one that we’ve taken before. Will be at white plains ready for a 6pm departure,” she wrote. At 5:15 pm, 45 minutes before the departure time, Clinton had a change of plan.

“Will the plane wait if I can’t get there before 7-8?” Clinton asked.

“Yes of course,” Abedin replied….

Why do the Clinton’s get by with this stuff ? Learned entitled behavior ! They are not alone by the way . This has been granted by the American people from a time leaders actually served & helped the country ! In a far distant past .

Limo is cheaper. Except pols are only charged price of commercial ticket so no one sees the real cost. Need to change that rule so pols are charged full true cost.

The $2.45 billion ‘loan’ to Amtrak from the Dept. of Transportation comes from the gas tax funds. The fund which politicians keep saying that the gas tax needs to be increased to keep up with inflation so the bridges don’t fall down and roads don’t become one large pothole.

And a reminder of how false gov’t budgeting is nowadays. I can’t prove the following but….

The ‘loan’ won’t be counted as adding to this year’s deficit because it’s a ‘loan’. Projected interest & principle payment next year will be counted as income reducing the projected annual budget deficit. However, Amtrak will likely pay only interest, the gov’t will count the ‘loan’ as current and count projected interest & principle payment for future years as income reducing the deficit. Even though Amtrak doesn’t pay the principle. And that’s just a right hand analysis. If with its left hand, the gov’t tells Amtrak that the first 5 years interest is forgiven, then Amtrak doesn’t have to pay anything to be classified as ‘current’ with ‘loan’.

Washington Examiner has ‘loan’ details. No payments (not principle nor interest) for 6 years. Who knows what Amtrak’s finances will be then.

Reminds me of a scene in Seinfeld where George doesn’t want to share the cost of a cab with Elaine because “you’re going that way anyway.”
