This tweet from Middle East scholar Daniel Pipes says it all:
in 2008, Pres. #Obama's first phone call went to #MahmoudAbbas. In contrast, #Trump’s first call as Pres-elect went to #BenjaminNetanyahu.

Melania Trump…opened relations with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s wife Sara with a phone call described as “heartfelt and warm” on the prime minister’s Facebook page.
“Mrs. Trump said that she looks forward to our visit at the first opportunity, and that there will be wonderful relations between our countries and our families,” Netanyahu wrote.
The two women also talked about what it was like to raise children “under the spotlight” because their fathers were world leaders. “They discussed the great importance of emphasizing family time as part of their role as mothers in order to enable their children to grow up in a normal way like all their friends,” Netanyahu wrote….
Earlier this week, Netanyahu had issued a statement in which he said that Trump is a “true friend” of the State of Israel.
“I look forward to working with him to advance security, stability and peace in our region,” Netanyahu said.
“The ironclad bond between the United States and Israel is rooted in shared values, buttressed by shared interests and driven by a shared destiny.
For the first time in 8 years, I’m proud of my First Lady.
