Well, that’s a good thing because under these now rejected rules, even the Stones wouldn’t have been allowed at their own concert.

I was just discussing the whole half-time show concept with a friend of mine, earlier this evening (sorry I missed the radio show). We are both rabid football fans, and believe the half-time extravaganzas are a self-indulgent waste of time on somebody’s part, and usually suck (this year will obviously be no different). They should put together a film of football highlights from the season, talk a little bit, and then get back to the game. A game that should NEVER be played in a dome or, in weather warmer than 40F. It’s a tough game, that should be played in tough conditions – not in a sissy dome or in the sissy sunshine.

    GO STEELERS!!!
    (wooo-hooo)

I agree that most halftime shows suck, but that is usually because they try to cram to many acts into one tiny space. If the producers of the halftime show can restrain themsleves and just let the Stones play a show, it could be actually good this year. I usually go do something else during the halftime show, but ever since I missed Janet’s “wardrobe malfunction….”

I hate how they cater to non-fans of the game, with all the glitz and trash. It reminds me too much of a Vegas show, which is fine – in VEGAS. Football is not for sissy glitz-monkeys. At least not the way it’s played here! I hope I live to see the day it’s played on the “Frozen Tundra”, or in Chicago, or here, in Pittsburgh, on a cold February day (why DID they change the date from the last Sunday in January, anyway?), snow falling at a blinding rate, wind swirling – then we’ll see who the real best team & true fans are! AND NO HALF-TIME SHOW!!!!

    G O S T E E L E R S ! Approx 2.5 hours ’til kick-off!!!

In general I agree, but I would prefer they re-institute age and gender discrimination with respect to wardrobe malfunctions.

I agree! How about having the “Superbowl” permently moved to Greenbay’s Lambeau Field? Snow, Wind and Ice that’s real football! The halftime shows are nauseating commercialism and I don’t know who is more pathetic, the stones or their “fans”.

I was wondering why Paul McCartney’s performance at the last Super Bowl had nary a fan in his age bracket standing around the stage. Now it all makes sense…
