You’ve probably noticed the new ads in the sidebars. With Tammy Blog a proud member of Pajamas Media, you now get the corporations that support freedom of expression on the internet.

I do have to note, however, how amused I am to occasionally see an ad for Air France reminding us how low the fares are to France. Hmmm. Have they tried charging $1 yet? Because even that’s too much. Now if it was an ad where they offered to pay us to go, maybe I would consider it.

As you could tell from my Cartoon Jihad posts, I am feeling a bit more appreciative of the French with their publication of the Danish Mohammad cartoons. And even though the France Soir editor got sacked by their pandering owner, overall the French have been very good on the issue. As Chirac appeased the Islamists on the issue, newspapers Le Monde and Liberation reprinted the cartoons.

So, while the ad gave me a laugh, their timing is good. But not quite good enough. When the French elect Sarkozy as president then perhaps we can fully welcome France back to the civilized world, and not only consider flying Air France, but loosen the French boycott in general.

In the meantime, c’est la vie.

In 1991 I was forced to fly Air France from Dahran to New York and back.
It was my worst travel experience since the two years in the late 40s when I was the only White Kid on the schoolbus.
