Buckingham Palace on lockdown after ‘man armed with sword’ attacks two police officers in front of tourists

A mansaid to be “armed with a sword” attacked two police officers outside Buckingham Palace this evening.

The two cops suffered minor injuries in the incident, but the Metropolitan Police said nobody else had been injured.

The two wounded officers overpowered the assailant and arrested him just after 8.30pm.

Reports on social media claimed he was armed with a sword or machete when he attacked the cops in front of terrified tourists.

Pictures on social media show police cars and a police cordon surrounding the area at the top of The Mall in central London.

The images show at least half a dozen police cars with blue flashing lights.

Amir Jan Malick said on Twitter: “Police with guns began encircling the Palace and directing cars away as more police cars were rushing towards the palace with sirens.”

Is London Mayor Sadiq Khan alarmed yet?

Trump should put out statement that U.S. will provide cooperation if requested.
