Remember when John Kerry smeared Vietnam veterans with outrageous lies during Congressional testimony, accusing our soldiers of committing daily “atrocities” ?

I do.

He is a craven, lying menace. And now it is reported that he wants to run for president in 2020.

Meanwhile, he is undermining the Trump Administration’s efforts to bring peace to the Middle East.

If this is not an example of violating the Logan Act, then I don’t know what is.

Via Middle East Monitor.

Former US Secretary of State John Kerry told close associate of Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas not to yield to US President Donald Trump’s demands during peace negotiations, Hebrew newspaper Ma’ariv has revealed.

According to the report, Kerry met Hussein Agha, a senior advisor to the PA, in London this week during which Kerry conveyed a message to Abbas to “hold on and be strong”.

“Tell him that he should stay strong in his spirit and play for time, that he will not break and will not yield to President Trump’s demands,” he said.

Kerry went on to say that he did not believe President Trump would remain in office much longer, and offered to help the Palestinians advance the peace process, recommending that Abbas present his own peace plan….

He advised the PA not to attack the US or the Trump Administration, but rather focus on Trump as an individual, whom Kerry considers solely responsible for the current situation.

Kerry further hinted that many in the US establishment, as well as in the intelligence community, are dissatisfied with Trump’s performance as president. He also informed Agha that he was seriously considering running for president himself in 2020….

Vietnam draft dodger, anti-American, communist pinko, pot smoking, socialist, hippie. Not to mention a police hating, ketchup loving, traitor! Thinks somebody died and left him God! Now he is a meddling ex-Obama appointee giving incorrect advice to a foreign country. Amateur!

Can you say sloooooow, looooow energy Lurch? Doesn’t stand a chance against the momentum Trump has set in motion.

I’m thinking of the Secret Society, and what they would do to prove Kerry’s predictions.

Me Lie has long been Kerry’s Call Sign. And now he plans an AbbasPeacePlan for that. He so wants Peace Prize in his time. Oh please run for President again , Mr. …what’s your name, Ignominious?

Although Kerry has said things like this and the story feels “truthy”, I’d have to allow for the possibility that there’s some Palestinian fabrication here until/unless a tape or reliable transcript appears. Has Kerry confirmed or denied any of these specifics?

      From the Fox article:

…One prominent Trump ally, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, voiced disbelief at the reported comments on Thursday.

“Kerry knows as a former secretary of state, a former U.S. senator, that kind of advice would be stunningly unpatriotic, and I don’t think John Kerry would do something like that,” Gingrich told “Fox & Friends.” “I hope he wouldn’t. I would be very, very surprised if a former secretary of state, a former U.S. senator would have said anything that was that overtly anti-American.”…

Last year in Europe, I heard a speech by Kerry, in which he said that “Trump has maybe 2 years,” followed by laughter from the audience.

      • Shifra says:

Maynard, why are you so skeptical? Kerry has quite a history of making preposterous anti-Israel statements. There is a recording of him praising “the Palestinians for showing “extraordinary” restraint against Israeli provocations.” He also stated that Israel has no interest in peace.

And as far as Gingrich’s “disbelief” is concerned, I think Kerry and his elitist anti-Trumper pals are so twisted that they think it’s patriotic to stop POTUS.

        • Maynard says:

Shifra, you’re quite right in condemning Kerry as a scoundrel and a menace to the Jewish state. But this allegation appears to cross moral and legal lines that I would think even Kerry would not cross: Going to a participant in an international setting and urging that party not to negotiate an agreement, and thus sabotaging the American State Dept. and the greater cause of peace. That’s not only crazy and evil but, as you note, could in theory get Kerry prosecuted (although of course we assume these people are pretty much above the law and untouchable). Since this report doesn’t seem to be supported by hard evidence (maybe some will show up?), I’m allowing for the possibility of an alternative explanation. The Palestinians are quite capable of crowing nonsense to make themselves sound important.

Kerry was a jerk to talk to the Palestinians; whatever he said or didn’t say, he knew he’d be an impediment to meaningful negotiation, so he bears moral responsibility. Kerry would rather tension and war continue rather than have Trump get credit for getting right what Obama/Kerry got wrong. I’m just trying to be precise in what Kerry is definitely guilty of.
