by Pat_S on May 25, 2012Tammy recently talked about the daring escape of Number 337 from the cramped penguin living quarters at the Tokyo Zoo. The one-year old Humboldt penguin escaped two months ago by scaling a wall and squeezing through a fence. Although the penquin was spotted frolicking happily in Tokyo Bay, there was concern for his/her (too young to tell) well-being. The waters of Tokyo Bay are filthy. Perhaps Number 337 had dreams of returning to the shores of Peru or Chile, the natural habitat of Humboldts. It breaks my heart to report Number 337 days of freedom are over.
