Newsweek Tweets Photo of MLK, Jr. In Open Casket, Deletes After Outrage
by Tammy on January 2, 2018One of the million reasons why the American people do not trust the legacy media. Their judgement is a dumpster fire. His daughter urges the media to consider King’s family before publishing a photo like that. It seems, however, the media doesn’t consider *anyone* before doing whatever they want. In this case, does the drive-by media *want* to cause civil unrest? Via NY Daily News. Newsweek tweeted, then quickly deleted an image of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in an open casket Monday with a link to an article about notable historical anniversaries in 2018. King’s daughter, Bernice King, was among the scores of twitter users who were outraged by its use of the image. “Why, @Newsweek? Wow,” she wrote,...

Texas Lawyer Behind Betsy DeVos Sex Assault Tweet Resigns
by Tammy on September 12, 2017It’s one thing to make a mistake or use a word social justice warriors don’t like, and quite another to consider and then articulate, in public no less, that you’d be fine with someone being secxually assaulted because you disagree with their politics and policy actions. Especially when you’re a lawyer at a firm that helps “injured victims nationwide.” Yeah, got it. Via Washington Times. A lawyer that sparked outrage after tweeting that he’d be “OK” with Education Secretary Betsy DeVos being sexually assaulted has resigned from his Texas law firm. Robert Ranco, a partner at the Carlson Law Firm who disagreed with the Trump administration’s plan to reform how accusations of sexual assault are adjudicated on campus, wrote in...

Facebook Cracks Down on Users Putting “Deplorable” in Profile Names
by Shifra on September 21, 2016Because…“violation of Community Standards.” Or, as we call it, censorship. Via IBT. Facebook has begun cracking down on users who use “deplorable” in their profile names, forcing them to change them because it violates the social media company’s Terms of Service. Hundreds of supporters of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump embraced the label after Democratic rival Hillary Clinton said: “You can put half of Trump supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables.” According to the social media network’s community standards, users are required to use their real names and information…. Facebook has come under fire for its highly controversial real name policy in the past as well. In December 2015, the company was forced to refine its policy...

Twitter Adds #BlackLivesMatter Fist Emoji After Dallas, Nothing for #BlueLivesMatter
by Tammy on July 9, 2016All I can do is shake my head. Amazing. Via Daily Caller. Following the racist murder of white police officers by a black power fist-yielding shooter, Twitter decided to add three black fists to accompany #BlackLivesMatter Friday. Emojis are offered in five skin tones total, yet Twitter chose the three darkest. As of Saturday the fists still accompany the hashtag. Adweek previously reported that branded emoji hashtags come with a seven-figure price tag. Twitter has not responded to The Daily Caller’s request for comment about the motivation behind the emojis being added to the hashtag. It’s unclear whether the emoji addition is Twitter’s doing or, like previous branded hashtags, a group is behind it. If they bought it, where does...

Former Facebook Workers: We Routinely Suppressed Conservative News
by Tammy on May 9, 2016Not a surprise. We know the legacy media does this, but there has been a presumption that social media, due to its social capacity, wouldn’t, or couldn’t do, the same thing. But, of course, we know Zuckerberg is a big Dem donor and a Friend of Obama, so while the White House is lying to us about every issue, why shouldn’t their friends in the media do the same thing? This is especially amusing considering Facebook’s “course” called “Managing Unconscious Bias.” Yeah, so I guess it’s better when your bias is conscious but you just hide it from everyone. Via Gizmodo: Facebook workers routinely suppressed news stories of interest to conservative readers from the social network’s influential “trending” news section,...
