Astounding. This is a hospital where patients will already likely have compromised immune systems and then to be fed raw chicken which carries bacterial and other pathogens? I’m not seeing any major change coming from Director Shulkin when reforming the VA was a major focus of the Trump campaign. This situation simply highlights how this horrible situation isn’t just about wait times, but a system that has abandoned our vets. Via the Daily Caller. A suburban Chicago Veterans Affairs hospital is serving raw, uncooked, and expired food while the head of the nutrition department sells handbags on government time. Photos acquired exclusively by The Daily Caller show food at the Hines VA Medical Center is often served raw, routinely served...

Can we declare an entire bureaucracy clinically insane? Just a note most of you already considered: waiting for health care when something is wrong with you and every minute may count, is not at all like waiting for a ride at Disneyland. With one, a wait can hasten your death, with the other, not so much. If you want to know what Single Payer looks like, this is it. Via Washington Examiner. Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald on Monday compared the length of time veterans wait to receive health care at the VA to the length of time people wait for rides at Disneyland, and said his agency shouldn’t use wait times as a measure of success because Disney doesn’t...

McCain and the GOP are so fond of gestures, I have no idea if they have any plan of actually making this law, but finally we have the obvious solution to the debacle of the VA: allow vets to get care anywhere they want at any time. If we abolished the VA and allow vets to seek any service that the VA provided in the free market it would likely save us millions of dollars. And vets wouldn’t die waiting for care. Via Free Beacon. Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.) has introduced legislation that would expand a program allowing veterans to seek care outside of the Department of Veterans’ Affairs network of medical facilities. The Care Veterans Deserve Act of...

How is this not a crime? As importantly, why is no one in jail over this? Not just for the existence of the wait times, but the fact that at least 300,000 veterans died waiting to to be enrolled or to be seen. Yet, the bureaucracy rolls merrily along as the entire system is set up to protect itself. Via Daily Caller. Management at Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical centers in California selected and coached employees on exactly what to tell investigators about wait time manipulation, according to new inspector general reports. According to two whistleblowers, management handpicked medical support assistants and told them what to tell the Veterans Health Administration Inspection Team, which visited the San Diego medical...

But they have no money for the veterans’ suicide hotline. This is why we fight. This corrupt garbarge has to stop.

Finally, after 2 years, we’re told the VA will seek to to fire 3 officials involved in the Phoenix wait-list scandal. The problem? It’s take them 2 years simply to get to this point, which is the beginning of the removal process. It could take another 700 days, while those being removed will still receive their full pay. Yeah, this madness has to stop. Via Arizona Republic. The Department of Veterans Affairs said Tuesday that it will seek the firing of three top executives of the Phoenix VA Health Care System amid fallout from the hospital’s wait-list scandal and patient deaths that galvanized nationwide reforms of the troubled veterans health system. The VA issued “notices of proposed removal” for Phoenix...

You’d think they would have known they were going to get caught. Really, every day there’s something that makes me laugh out loud and scream at the same time. And it’s not a good thing. Via Free Beacon. A senior Veterans Affairs official misused her position by encouraging subordinates to pay for psychic readings, federal watchdogs said on Thursday. Lucy Filipov, the assistant director of the VA’s Philadelphia regional office, pressured employees to attend a private gathering, where a colleague’s wife charged them for the readings, the department’s inspector general said in a report. Gary Hodge, the psychic’s husband and a pension manager in the regional office, failed to report income from his wife’s psychic business on financial disclosure forms,...

The following story sounds like an SNL skit gone terribly bad: A depressed veteran, missing his deceased wife, felt like ending his own life, but decided to call the Suicide Hotline. And he was put on hold for ten minutes. Via ABC Action News: Veteran says he was repeatedly put on hold by veterans’ suicide hotline He put himself in danger to protect our country, but when he needed help to save his own life all he got was a recorded message. Ted Koran was thinking about committing suicide Saturday night. He reached out to the VA and the Veterans Suicide Hotline for help, but said he couldn’t get any until after he was repeatedly put on hold for up...

Tammy was on America News HQ discussing the VA scandal and the lack of progress made by the Obama administration on the care of America’s finest. Wait for the best Tammy “eye roll” when Richard Goodstein pulls out the only thing the libs have in defense of this administration – Osama Bin Laden (he also gets the Tammy headshake) — priceless!!

Here’s Tammy’s appearance on Fox News Saturday regarding the bickering in Congress over what to do about the VA crisis. All this, of course, while vets continue to die because of a lack of care. In the meantime, it was announced today the Congress Clowns may have come to some sort of compromise. We don’t know the details yet, nor do we know if they’ll be able to schedule a vote before they run off to their very important 5-week vacation on August 4th. And then, if they do, will anyone even bother to read it? I agree with Tammy on this. The only thing they should do is pass a bill getting vets what they need to access the...

Here is Tammy’s appearance on Fox’s “Kelly File” last night with guest host Martha MacCallum. They discuss the subject of Tammy’s latest column, the comparison of how our vets are being treated in their health care system, the VA, versus the amazing health care traitor Bradley Manning is seeking, and receiving.
