Border Patrol Lets Some Illegals Go -- Over and Over Again

Josefa Gonzalez Loya has sneaked across the Mexican border at least 128 times in the past eight years. And each time, the Border Patrol has been nice enough to give her a lift home.

Gonzalez and a group of other women and children--all Indians from the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca--have no interest in staying in the United States. All they want to do is panhandle outside El Paso businesses, using the children as lures.

At the end of a productive day, they wait for the Border Patrol to come pick them up and drive them back to the border.

Mexican Official Caught Stealing White House Blackberries

Secret Service Catch Mexican Official Nabbing White House BlackBerries

Whether he was up to no good or simply desperate to play BrickBreaker, a Mexican press attaché was caught on camera by Secret Service pocketing several White House BlackBerries during a recent meeting in New Orleans, FOX News has learned.

Sources with knowledge of the incident said the official, Rafael Quintero Curiel, served as the lead press advance person for the Mexican Delegation and was responsible for handling logistics and guiding the Mexican media around at the conference. He took six or seven of the handheld devices from a table outside a special room in the hotel where the Mexican delegation was meeting with President Bush earlier this week...

Sources said Quintero Curiel made it all the way to the airport before Secret Service officers caught up with him. He initially denied taking the devices, but after agents showed him the DVD, Quintero Curiel said it was purely accidental, gave them back, claimed diplomatic immunity and left New Orleans with the Mexican delegation.

And the White House reaction to what should be considered an act of spying?

White House spokeswoman Dana Perino refused to discuss the incident, telling FOX News, "We are aware of the situation, but as it's under investigation by law enforcement officials, we will decline to comment."

Of course you will, honey.

Rice Warned Carter Over Hamas

But, just like everyone else on the international scene, he ignored her and went about his business.

Rice says Carter was warned against meeting with Hamas

KUWAIT CITY (AP) - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Tuesday the Bush administration explicitly warned former President Jimmy Carter against meeting with members of Hamas, the Palestinian faction that controls the Gaza Strip and which is regarded by the U.S. as a terror group.

Rice, attending a regional meeting on Iraq's security and future, contradicted Carter's assertions that he never got a clear signal from the State Department. Rice told reporters that the U.S. thought the visit could confuse the message that the U.S. will not deal with Hamas.

"I just don't want there to be any confusion," Rice said. "The United States is not going to deal with Hamas and we had certainly told President Carter that we did not think meeting with Hamas was going to help" further a political settlement between Israel and the Palestinians.

The fact that there is a discussion at all, approved by us, between Israel and a terrorist organization is pathetic. But, of course, Carter and everyone else, continues to be played by these beasts.

Carter said top Hamas leaders told him during seven hours of talks in Damascus over the weekend that they are willing to live next to Israel [well heck yeah, it's so much easier to kill Jews when you're right next to them!], but a top Hamas official said the group would never outright recognize the Jewish state...

Carter won no specific concessions from Hamas. He defended his trip during remarks Monday in Jerusalem. He said he failed to convince the top Hamas boss, Khaled Mashaal, that he could gain international goodwill if he stopped rocket fire on Israel for one month.

"I did the best I could," Carter said. "They turned me down, and I think they're wrong."

Hey, Khaled, if you just stop murdering Jews for a month, and then go right back to it, everyone will feel so much better! And isn't it nice that Carter feels the need to make sure everyone knows that the keep-killing-innocent-people agenda of Hamas is "wrong." Because, you know, I'm sure Carter feels it's important for people to not think that killing Jews is a good thing. I suppose because in his depraved world to kill or not kill Jews is a such a funky gray moral area.

The Continuing Corruption of Islamism

Terrorism is just one symptom of the increasing depravity of Islamism worldwide. If the murder of innocent people in the name of God is possible and argued for using the foundation of a certain religion, we shouldn't be too surprised to learn that the rot moves to the core. During Ramadan I brought you the truth of the matter when it comes to the abuse of children during Islam's holiest time. Last week we endured the story of Muslim beasts in Yemen and the 8-year-old "bride" travesty. Her parents facilitated the abuse of the girl, and the 28-year-old to whom she was given thought it was all fine and dandy too. But it doesn't stop there. Here is another story of the use and abuse of children in the name of Islam. If Muslims had any real concern about Islam and the image in the co-called Prophet Muhammad, they might be taken a little more seriously if they dealt with the psychopaths who murder in the name of Muhammad and in instances around the world, enslave children.

Boy flees Islamic school that makes beggars of African kids

DAKAR, Senegal - On the day he decided to run away, 9-year-old Coli awoke on a filthy mat...It was still dark as he set out for the mouth of a freeway with the other boys, a tribe of 7-, 8- and 9-year-old beggars...

There are 1.2 million Colis in the world today, children trafficked to work for the benefit of others. Those who lure them into servitude make $15 billion annually, according to the International Labor Organization.

It's big business in Senegal. In the capital of Dakar alone, at least 7,600 child beggars work the streets, according to a study released in February by the ILO, the United Nations Children's Fund and the World Bank. The children collect an average of 300 African francs a day, just 72 cents, reaping their keepers $2 million a year.

Most of the boys — 90 percent, the study found — are sent out to beg under the cover of Islam, placing the problem at the complicated intersection of greed and tradition. For among the cruelest facts of Coli's life is that he was not stolen from his family. He was brought to Dakar with their blessing to learn Islam's holy book.

In the name of religion, Coli spent two hours a day memorizing verses from the Quran and over nine hours begging to pad the pockets of the man he called his teacher...Not all Quranic boarding schools force their students to beg. But for the most part, what was once an esteemed form of education has degenerated into child trafficking. Nowadays, Quranic instructors net as many children as they can to increase their daily take.

Read the whole story and learn a little bit more of the beasts who dare to condemn others, and the world, including our president and the Pope actually argue that this sort of society should be treated as civilized and like all others. Shameful.

Former US president Carter in Syria for talks with Hamas supremo

Former US president Jimmy Carter met Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Friday on the latest stop of a regional tour dominated by impending talks with the exiled leader of Hamas.

Carter held talks with Assad before preparing to defy US and Israeli opposition by meeting with the Damascus-based Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal.

Details on the meeting with Assad were not immediately available, but Carter's spokesman Rick Jafculca told AFP that the two were to discuss the peace process.

"The meeting between Carter and Meshaal will mainly focus on the Palestinian cause and means to deal with the Israeli occupation and its sanctions on the Palestinian people," senior Hamas official Mohammed Nasr told AFP.

How can this sort of 'meeting' not be considered a conspiracy to commit murder, especially when meeting with a death squad whose goal it is to wipe Israel off the map and kill Jews, and your goal is to discuss the "means to deal with the Israeli occupation"?

Freedom Tower Plans Found In Trash

We can thank a homeless man for finding them and turning them in. These plans, as you can imagine, are confidential and reveal the nature of the Freedom Tower schematics. Considering we're speaking about a new building that terrorists would also want to destroy, there's a reason these support and constructions details are supposed to be secret.

That homeless New Yorker should be given a new life, help for whatever has made him homeless, medical care for addiction, money, a free apartment, whatever he needs as a thank you for coming forward with this.

Report: NYC Freedom Tower plans found in trash

NEW YORK - A homeless man has come forward with two sets of confidential ground zero blueprints that he says were dumped in a Lower Manhattan trash can.

The man brought the Freedom Tower plans to the New York Post, which says the 150-page schematic is marked: "Secure Document — Confidential."

The documents are dated Oct. 5, 2007. They contain plans for each floor, the thickness of the concrete-core wall, and the location of air ducts, elevators, electrical systems and support columns.

Scum Marine Murderer Laurean Captured

Laurean before and after his arrest in Mexico. As a side issue, onsidering the difference in appearance, now you can see why Islamists have such an easy time using the Mexican border.

Marine Killing Suspect Caught in Mexico

A Marine suspected of killing a pregnant colleague told police he slept in fields and survived by eating fruit that he found during a three-month manhunt that ended with his arrest in western Mexico, authorities said.

Mexican police carrying out an anti-kidnapping operation in the small town of Tacambaro arrested Cpl. Cesar Laurean on Thursday.

He is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Marine Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach, who had accused him of rape. Her burned remains were found in January in the backyard of his home near Camp Lejeune.

Bearded, thin and chained at the wrists and ankles, Laurean spoke briefly with The Associated Press while being held at the Michoacan state Attorney General's Office in Morelia, the state capital. He appeared slightly disoriented and stared straight ahead, his eyes occasionally filling up with tears as he answered a reporter's questions in terse phrases...

Laurean, of Las Vegas, was born in Guadalajara, but family members there have said he moved to the U.S. more than 10 years ago...Onslow County District Attorney Dewey Hudson has agreed not to seek execution in order to win the cooperation of Mexico, which refuses to send anyone back to the U.S. unless provided assurance they will not face a death sentence.

What Happens When You Put Food Into Cars

The price of food goes up because supply can't meet demand, much like oil. The only difference is, if the price of oil goes up, the price of gas goes up, and one can choose to use less gas, and use alternatives. When the price of food goes up there aren't any alternatives. The wealthy, of course, can pay more, but the less well off don't have as much flexibility.

One of the more dramatic headlines in the last couple of days has been the rising price of corn, a result of 'climate change' hysteria. It is the fault of a world so willing to goose-step into line with frantic and ridiculous leftists who worship Al Gore as they pander to his non-existent and yet implacable enemy.

Skyrocketing corn prices hit ethanol profits

The continuing surge in the price of corn, which is punishing households with higher food prices, is cutting the profits of American ethanol producers and playing havoc with an industry that was blamed for causing the grain shortage.

The price of a bushel of corn soared above $6 on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange last week, pushed higher by news that American farmers were planting less corn...Expensive corn is hurting the livestock industry, which in turn will raise the price of meat, Rich Feltes, senior vice-president of commodity research for MF Global, said. “Hog producers are liquidating sows, the farmers are operating in the red,” he said.

The skyrocketing cost of corn is rebounding on the ethanol industry, which is taking an ever larger proportion of the US corn harvest to manufacture road fuel.

Yeah, this man looks like he knows what's healthy for the rest of us.

This is what we get when the world engages in what Hilary Clinton most recently brought to our attention--Mythomania, a psychiatric term describing individuals who make up fantastical stories and convey then as if they really exist or have happened. You think Hillary's Bosnia airport story was bad? Al Gore and the Climate Change Hysterics are no better, the only reason they haven't been so handily exposed is because God and Nature don't have cameras and YouTube to defend the truth of their matter.

Clear-thinkers regularly decry the Fabulist agenda of Climate Change moonbats like Al Gore and his minions, as we point out not just the absurdity of their agenda but also its dangerousness. I suppose it's meant to be made more difficult as were told that "climate change" is murdering polar bears, puppies, kittens and doves, but I for one was even more astounded by the Time Magazine cover story from a couple of weeks ago that actually declared The Clean Energy Scam. Instead of pointing to Leftist Climate Change pygmies as they should, Time now manages to place all the blame on 'politicians and corporations.' In fact, at no point in their story about how biofuels are a dangerous problem, does Al Gore's name get mentioned once.

...Propelled by mounting anxieties over soaring oil costs and climate change, biofuels have become the vanguard of the green-tech revolution, the trendy way for politicians and corporations to show they're serious about finding alternative sources of energy and in the process slowing global warming. The U.S. quintupled its production of ethanol--ethyl alcohol, a fuel distilled from plant matter--in the past decade, and Washington has just mandated another fivefold increase in renewable fuels over the next decade.

But several new studies show the biofuel boom is doing exactly the opposite of what its proponents intended: it's dramatically accelerating global warming, imperiling the planet in the name of saving it. Corn ethanol, always environmentally suspect, turns out to be environmentally disastrous. Even cellulosic ethanol made from switchgrass, which has been promoted by eco-activists and eco-investors as well as by President Bush as the fuel of the future, looks less green than oil-derived gasoline.

Meanwhile, by diverting grain and oilseed crops from dinner plates to fuel tanks, biofuels are jacking up world food prices and endangering the hungry. The grain it takes to fill an SUV tank with ethanol could feed a person for a year. Harvests are being plucked to fuel our cars instead of ourselves. The U.N.'s World Food Program says it needs $500 million in additional funding and supplies, calling the rising costs for food nothing less than a global emergency. Soaring corn prices have sparked tortilla riots in Mexico City, and skyrocketing flour prices have destabilized Pakistan, which wasn't exactly tranquil when flour was affordable.

We can thank Al Gore for this, as well as leftist agitators, and yes, politicians on both sides of the aisle who do not have the vision or courage to reject the nature contradicted, increasingly silly, and regularly debunked claims of global climate catastrophe.

The real folly and disaster is that of mankind thinking it knows all, kmows better, and has more influence and power than Mother Nature herself. Eventually she reminds us, to our great peril.

The Pig Book--How Politicians Are Wasting Our Money

Citizens Against Government Waste has released its annual listing of how politicians are wasting our tax dollars on ridiculous pet projects. And to think its these same people who somehow found the time to take their hands out of our pockets to condemn the oil industry which at least makes their profits fairly and legitimately

Annual 'Pig Book' Sees Steep Rise in Number of Lawmakers' Pet Projects

Another attempt to put a moratorium on earmarks — local pet projects slipped into legislation —- failed Wednesday, a day after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi insisted that an earmark freeze was still a possibility. The House voted against a Republican-backed plan 215 to 199.

Republicans timed their effort to coincide with the release of the annual Congressional Pig Book, distributed by the watchdog group Citizens Against Government Waste. The pig book details pork-barrel spending and was rolled out with pig-costumed staffers pushing barrels.

Overall pork barrel spending went up 30 percent in the 2008 fiscal year and the number of pet projects jumped by 337 percent — to more than 11,600. The cost of all the earmarked projects was $17.2 billion

According to the book, the top three lawmakers slipping pet projects into bills are all Republicans on the Senate Appropriations Committee — Sens. Thad Cochran of Mississippi with $892 million; Ted Stevens of Alaska with $469 million and Richard Shelby of Alabama with $465 million.

So the Big Three are Republicans. I think this is a perfect of illustration of what I mean when I say politicians are all the same, and a politician having an (R) after his or her name no longer automatically means they're a conservative.

Some of the more absurd uses of our tax dollars?

$1.9 million for the Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service at The City College of New York. The project was slipped into the Labor/Health and Human Services spending bill by none other than Rep. Charles B. Rangel, the Democratic chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.

$188,000 for the Lobster Institute in Maine. This was added by Maine's Republican Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, along with Rep. Thomas Allen. It is said to be a cooperative program of "research and education with the lobster industry." Among other programs, the institute has been working on an underwater "lobster cam" and touts one of its achievements as the creation of lobster biscuits for dogs.

As for the presidential candidates, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton is listed as being named on 281 earmarks, among them $390,000 for jazz music at Lincoln Center. The other Democrat in the race, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, is listed on 52 earmarks, including $1.6 million for the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. The aquarium receives 2 million visitors a year and has 36 corporate backers.

Arizona Sen. John McCain, the expected Republican presidential nominee, did not request any earmarks this year. He issued a statement instead lauding CAGW for issuing the book.

I must say, I'm impressed. Good for him.

Former Pentagon official pleads guilty in China spy case

A former Pentagon official pleaded guilty in court Monday to an espionage charge over the disclosure of secret data to an alleged Chinese agent in the US. Gregg Bergersen said he was unaware that the Taiwan-born businessman was passing the information to China. Mr. Bergersen, a weapons systems policy analyst who resigned his job last week, could face up to 10 years in prison.

The leaked data concerned US weapons programs for Taiwan, which China has threatened to regain by force, if necessary. Taiwan is a potential flash point for US-China rivalry in East Asia, and US military support for Taiwan is an irritant to Beijing. In turn, Taiwan has flagged China's steady buildup of missiles capable of hitting Taiwan. US military officials have warned that China and Russia have stepped up military spying activities in recent years, focusing on advanced weapon technology...

In two separate developments this week, a judge in California agreed to postpone until next May the trial of a Chinese-American engineer charged with stealing military and aerospace trade secrets on behalf of China, the Associated Press reports, and a federal court sentenced a Chinese-born engineer working on a Navy warship to 24 years in jail for trying to pass "sensitive data" to China, Bloomberg reports.

Despite all this, including the poisoned and tainted food and medicine with which China has been flooding our nation, as well as dangerous and defective toys for children and weakened steel for our buildings, President Bush still plans on traveling to China to enjoy the Olympic games while boosting the image of that pit as a civilized nation.

No wonder they have contempt for us as they try to issue Death by a Thousand Cuts.

Charges Dropped Against Another Haditha Marine

The fact that charges were ever brought against any of our Marines in this instance is a crime in itself.

Military prosecutors dropped all charges on Friday against a U.S. Marine accused of involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault in the 2005 shooting deaths of two dozen unarmed Iraqi civilians at Haditha.

The charges against Lance Cpl. Stephen B. Tatum, 26, were dismissed "in order to continue to pursue the truth seeking process into the Haditha incident," the Marines said in a statement. Word of the development came as jury selection was about to begin in Tatum's court-martial on charges of involuntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment and aggravated assault at the Camp Pendleton Marine base in California...Prosecutors have dropped charges against four other Marines in the case

Here's a reminder of what one of the military's investigating officers, Marine Lt. Col. Paul Ware, reported last year about one of the Marines accused in the Haditha case and the so-called evidence against our troops. His rebuke of the charges makes clear the Haditha prosecutions are nothing more than a politically correct witch hunt.

An investigating officer in the case against a U.S. Marine accused of murdering civilians in Haditha, Iraq, has recommended that charges against him be dropped, concluding that the government's allegations that the Marine executed a group of men are "unsupported and incredible." [...] "To believe the government version of facts is to disregard clear and convincing evidence to the contrary and sets a dangerous precedent that . . . may encourage others to bear false witness against Marines as a tactic to erode public support of the Marine Corps and mission in Iraq," Ware wrote.

Accused Saddam Agent Met With Hillary

It's amazing the access this freak had not only to the White House and Clinton, but to then-UN Ambassador Richardson. And not surprisingly he donated to Dems and Repubs, including Bush. This cozy, money-based corruption is truly bi-partisan.

This is not a good revelation for Hillary on the heels of her Tuzla airport fabulism. And according to Pew, she's now 10 points behind Obama, confirming Democrats are indeed idiots. I don't mean that in a sloppy insulting way, I mean that as a fact.

Accused Saddam Agent Says He Met With Hillary at White House

A Michigan man facing federal criminal charges of illegally working for Saddam Hussein's Iraqi Intelligence Service says he met with Hillary Clinton at the White House in May 1996. In a 1997 interview with this reporter, Muthanna Hanooti said that at the meeting, Mrs. Clinton was "very receptive" to his request for an easing of the American sanctions on Iraq that were in place at the time. He said Mrs. Clinton "passed a message to the State Department" about the need to implement the oil-for-food deal, which was intended to allow Saddam to sell billions of dollars' worth of oil to pay for food for Iraqi citizens...

Asked whether Senator Clinton recalls the meeting or whether the presidential campaign had any further comment on the meeting in light of Mr. Hanooti's indictment, the Clinton presidential campaign yesterday offered no formal response...

Mrs. Clinton and her defenders may claim that no one could have known in 1996 that Mr. Hanooti would become an agent of Saddam Hussein, engaged in what a grand jury and federal prosecutors say was a criminal conspiracy. The indictment charges that the conspiracy began "in or about 1999." Mr. Hanooti has pleaded not guilty.

But to reporters on the foreign policy beat in Washington at the time and to those active in the Iraqi opposition to Saddam, it was clear whose agenda was being advanced...

US To Help Egypt Build Border Fence

The United States has announced that it is planning to help Egypt build a border fence along the Gaza-Egypt border. Washington transferred $23 million worth of special aid to the North African nation as part of its assistance in locating smuggling tunnels...

The planned fence between Egypt and Gaza will employ technology directed at preventing the fence from being damaged. This is in response to Palestinian militants who blew a hole in the current wall between the two nations that allowed hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to flock into Egypt late January and early February.

The American Army Corps of Engineers plans to send teams to Egypt to help push forward the border fence plans. While building the wall, the Americans also hope to help Egyptian security forces locate and destroy smuggling tunnels into Gaza...

I knew the political elite had contempt for us, but this completely jumps the shark.

So, funding, a physical fence and technology. For the Egyptians. It's amazing isn't it? We can't get 28 miles of a pilot project up involving just technology but we will manage to build a pretty darn good fence for Egypt. That's called, for lack of a batter term, getting screwed. Oh, this also means we're sending Army Engineers to the Gaza Border, you know, where the terrorists live. Lovely.

Hey, they built the Pyramids, they can build their own damn border fence.

The substance wouldn't have occurred naturally in the heparin from China, the agency says, suggesting a counterfeit drug could be involved. The import may have led to the deaths of up to 19 in the U.S.

The Food and Drug Administration said today it has identified a mystery ingredient that contaminated a type of blood thinner imported from China that could have led to as many as 19 U.S. deaths and hundreds of severe allergic reactions among frail patients.

FDA Deputy Commissioner Janet Woodcock said the contaminant would not have occurred naturally in the many steps involved in processing the blood thinner heparin. That raised the possibility that a counterfeit drug could ultimately be blamed in the case.

"At this moment, we don't know whether it was introduced intentionally or by accident," she said. Officials stopped short of saying they suspected the heparin to be counterfeit, but they clearly indicated they were investigating that possibility.

Gee, like when the Chinese laced toothpaste and cough syrup with antifreeze? And the time they sent melamine for use as a pet food ingredient? Like those other possibilities of counterfeit ingredients?

Fortunately, this whole sordid event just may be this beautiful young woman's ticket out of the life-ruining scourge of prostitution. I betcha there's a book deal in her future.

For Democrats, 2008 was supposed to be the year of the Mountain West, when three years of relentless Republican attacks on undocumented immigrants would fuel a backlash among Hispanics that would change the playing field in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico, and perhaps alter the landscape of presidential politics for a generation.

But the emergence of Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) as the likely standard-bearer for the GOP may have scrambled the equation, cooling a potential political revolt among Hispanics and sending Democrats in search of a new playbook.

"It completely screws it up," said Charles Black, a senior McCain adviser. "We nominated the one person who will not suffer that backlash." [...] Even as McCain moves to heal intraparty wounds on the immigration issue, Democratic community organizers in the West say his past battles with other Republicans over a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants left an imprint on the Latino community that will not quickly fade.

McCain and his team had better get their act together and realize it's independent conservatives he should be concerned about. He can shift his priorities now, or he's going to find out the hard way what we think on November 4th.

Mexican drug hitmen kill singer near U.S. border

Drug hitmen have killed a popular Mexican singer along with his manager and assistant near the U.S. border, authorities said on Wednesday, the latest murder among musicians who sing "narcocorrido" ballads glorifying drug traffickers.

The body of Jesus Rey David Alfaro, known as "The Little Rooster," was one of six that turned up tortured, murdered and pinned with threatening messages for Mexico's army last week in the border town of Tijuana near San Diego...

The official was referring to Tijuana's main drug smuggling cartel, which is fighting a gory turf war with traffickers from Mexico's Pacific state of Sinaloa, led by the country's most-wanted man, Joaquin "Shorty" Guzman.

Alfaro, a regular act at Tijuana's biggest bars and music halls, was found covered in a blanket in wasteland on the edge of the city with rope marks around his neck, suggesting he was tortured before he was shot in the head, the attorney general's office said.

Ex-Guantanamo detainees freed in London

LONDON (AFP) — Two British residents just released from the US-run Guantanamo Bay prison camp were let out on bail Thursday pending extradition hearings in London, while another was freed without charge.

Jamil El Banna, 45, who spent more than four years in the camp, was detained on a European arrest warrant after arriving back Wednesday night with two other British residents from the detention centre in Cuba.

"I'm tired. I want to go home and see my children," said the long-bearded El Banna, who is wanted by authorities in Spain. Later television pictures showed him hugging his children after returning by taxi to his home. [Awww, how special considering so many men aren;t able to hug their children because they were blown up by his bosses in al-Qaida...] ...

The hearings at City of Westminster Magistrates Court were told that Spanish authorities alleged that El Banna and Deghayes were members of an Al-Qaeda cell called the Islamic Alliance...

Meanwhile, Melanie Cumberland, a lawyer for the Spanish authorities, told the court that Deghayes was "a highly committed member of Al-Qaeda" and was "willing to participate in terrorist activities."

One of the financial guarantors for the men was said to be the human rights activist and actress Vanessa Redgrave. She declined to comment on the financial backing but said outside court she was "very happy" to be able to help El Banna's family.

"Guantanamo Bay is a concentration camp. It is a disgrace that these men have been kept there all these years and today Jamil will be back home and justice has been done," she said.

Funny, it's apparently the one "concentration camp" ever in the world where the detainees gain an average of 20 pounds each, as they fight over which DVD to watch and who will be on what soccer team.

And here, for a piece with Sixty Minutes, she insists she's not a Jew-hater, despite, as one example, that little dance she did with the PLO and a Kalashnikov rifle. Funny, she insists she wants to fight fascism everywhere, yet condemns America defending herself and supports those who were captured on the Afghanistan battlefield, and whom even the Spanish believe are al-Qaida terrorist operatives.

The daily al-Jazirah cited Justice Minister Abdullah bin Mohammad al-Sheikh as saying the king alone had the right to issue pardons if it was in the public interest...The 19-year-old Shi'ite woman was abducted and raped along with a male companion by seven men last year in a case that has drawn criticism from around the world. [With the glaring exception of the American feminist establishment, as silent on this as they've been with the Sudanese teddy bear teacher case--ed.]...

The Supreme Judicial Council last month increased the sentence to 200 lashes and six months in prison and ordered the rapists to serve between two years and nine years in prison...

If confirmed, the pardon would represent a rare occasion where Saudi rulers have publicly challenged Saudi Arabia's hardline clerics, who have wide powers in society according to a traditional pact with the Saudi royal family.

Bush Pardons 29 Felons

Including a crack dealer (the first ever to be pardoned), a bunch of cocaine dealers, mail thieves, tax cheats and a whole host of other losers.

Not among the list are two men who are in prison simply for doing their job, which was, interestingly enough, stopping the very sort of people the president saw fit to pardon yesterday, and about whom appeals court judges have noted, in so many words, were prosecuted unfairly.

Those two men--Ramos and Compean--still sit in solitary confinement throughout the Christmas season. Another illustration of the utter moral failure of President Bush on so many fronts in the past few years.

They're marketed as the all-American girls, each representing a different period in American history. But CBS 11 found the American Girl dolls that teach our heritage aren't really American.

Susan Mobley has purchased several American Girl dolls over the years for her daughter, Heather. But the Mobleys recently discovered these dolls are only American in name. If you look closely, you'll see a tag on the box that says "Made in China."

"To have an American Girl doll made in China sounds like a contradiction, does it not?" said Dr. Daniel Howard, professor of Marketing at the SMU Cox School of Business.

He says it's all about cost. It's more expensive to manufacture the dolls in the U.S., which means the price of the $87 dolls would be even higher.

"I believe that there are many American consumers who would pay it simply for the knowledge, simply for the comfort of knowing that this doll was made in the good ol' U.S. of A," Dr. Howard said...

If that's not enough, check out the patronizing response the reporter got after contacting American Girl about the absurdity of their product being made in China:

"Like the majority of the world's toys, American Girl products are manufactured in China, in addition to 18 other countries. All the design and conception work is done at the company's headquarters in Wisconsin."

Yeah, 18 countries other than the United States. So hey, what's the problem? All the Arty-type work is done in Wisconsin. It's just the boring blue-collar manufacturing jobs we ship out to a communist pit that's at war with us.

We shouldn't be surprised by this. "American Girl" is made by Mattel, which has had the largest recall of toys in the world, with 9.5 million units recalled because of dangerous or shoddy work done in China.

And never, never, forget that it was Mattel that apologized to China after the massive recalls.

Democrat leadership is apparently between a rock and a hard place when it comes to amnesty for illegal aliens. So what's their solution? They are now publicly discussing starting out with a "get tough" approach before they sweep in and push for amnesty.

This grand plan of the Dem Elite (and the Repubs, as well), relies on one general assumption--that you and I are brain dead idiots. They haven;t learned their lesson, and as each day goes by it becomes more and more apparent that there is one group out there that is blind, deaf and dumb--and it isn't us.

House Democratic leaders are being whipsawed on immigration policy by two groups within their caucus — Hispanic lawmakers who want an end to Democratic support of enforcement-only immigration bills and vulnerable Democrats from swing districts who say a “get tough” approach is necessary to keep their seats in 2008.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) Chairman Joe Baca (D-Calif.) plans to address the Democratic Caucus at next week’s meeting to reassure colleagues that they can be tough while creating a path to citizenship for undocumented and illegal immigrants...

Worried about appearing soft on the issue in an election year, yet knowing they cannot afford to alienate Hispanic voters, Democratic leaders have let conservative members join legislative forces with Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) and allowed passage of a non-binding motion prohibiting the government from suing groups that require employees to speak English at work...

In The New Republic last month, [Democrat pollster] Greenberg equated the immigration issue with welfare reform, saying Democrats had to get tough on enforcement before creating a path to citizenship. Many political strategists disagree.

The president’s Hispanic support withered after Republicans supported legislation that called for the deportation of 12 million illegal and undocumented immigrants. Democrats overwhelmingly won the Hispanic vote in 2006 and the party wants to solidify that support next year.

Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), who spoke at an NDN forum on immigration on Wednesday, said that unlike Republicans, Democrats avoid references in debate to “those people.” He added, “It shocked me to hear that on the Senate floor … If we show our understanding on those issues, we’ll have a unique chance at a record Latino vote and a Democratic president [in 2008].”

In black and white, plain and simple: their plan is to sell out this nation and destroy our sovereignty for perceived votes. These people are corrupt whores and should be banned from public office.

Don't think for one minute this discussion is happenng only within the Democrat party, this virus is in the Repub swamp as well.

God Must Have Suggested a Vacation

After telling his congregation that God spoke to him about certain pesky legal trouble, the president of Oral Robert's University has decided to take a leave of absence. He will, however, stay on as chairman and chief executive of Oral Roberts Ministries. Because, you know, allegedly misappropriating supporters donations and saying God speaks to you doesn't at all suggest you should be locked up somewhere.

TULSA, Okla. - Oral Roberts University president Richard Roberts has asked the school's board of regents for a leave of absence amid accusations of lavish spending at donors' expense and illegal involvement in a political campaign.

On Wednesday, Roberts, 58, said he would continue in his role as chairman and chief executive of Oral Roberts Ministries.

"I don't know how long this leave of absence will last, but I fully trust the members of the Board of Regents," Roberts said in a statement released by the university. "I pray and believe that in God's timing, and when the Board feels that it is appropriate, I will be back at my post as president."

Whatever he's thinking, it absolutely needs to be longer. Like forever.

And since they were purchased with Ministries funds, can someone ask Richard if God prefers his wife's new Lexus SUV over her new red Mercedes convertible? Thanks. I always knew God was a car geek.

'Farmers' Infected With Spoiled Child Syndrome

As they throw a temper tantrum because, *sniff*, there are fewer illegal alien slave workers to pick their fruit. Now they're threatening to let food rot because they prefer to not pay a living wage to American citizens.

Oh, and we're all supposed to rush out and buy a supply of Depends because food prices might go higher. Actually, we should start saving money--sure, I'll pay a little extra money for some strawberries if I get to stop paying for free health care for illegal aliens.

I love this headline, btw. It's as though we're supposed to believe farmers have absolutely no control over getting other people into the fields to do some work. Like God is supposed to deliver their help, dropping the new crew from the sky Or maybe it's more like a spoiled brat screaming as flails about becuse he's not getting his way. Losers

NorCal Farmers Worry Fruit Will Rot On Trees

Farmers in and around Northern California are starting to feel the pinch from tighter border security and visa requirements, NBC11's Daniel Garza reported Monday.

Some farmers told Garza they expect some of their fields to remain unpicked. Some said they believe their fields will end up filled with rotting produce.

The Bush administration has learned of the possible loss of millions of dollars for thousands of farmers throughout the country, and is attempting to loosen visa requirements for workers.

Working in the fields is a hard job that few will do, according to Pete Aiello of Uesugi Farms in Gilroy. "We'll have guys out in the field as early as 5 o'clock in the morning and the last guys won't leave the field until six or seven o'clock at night," said Uesugi.

Yeah, you lazy bum Americans. Working a 12-14 hour day is something you stupid slobs won't even consider. Because it's haaaaaard, and you might have to get up early. Knowing that, I'm sure Mr. Aiello would be shocked, just shocked, to encounter these Americans who appear to work very hard as coalminers:

And these Americans, who work all the time, 24/7, as troops in the middle of the battlefield of Iraq. They have to get up early and freakish monsters try to kill them, too!:

Somehow, other sectors that include hard and even dangerous work (and last time I checked, picking fruit wasn't high on the Danger Grid) have no problem finding 'workers,' employees or warriors, all from the same pool of American citizens.

If a farm, big or little, refuses to hire Americans then they should go out of business and allow an entity that will hire Americans take over. Plain and simple.
