Monica Need Not Apply

craigmugshot.jpg

Just when you thought it was safe to go to back into the bathroom.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Idaho Senator Larry Craig is currently seeking intern applications for the summer term, which runs from May to August. The application deadline is March 15, however if more time is needed for the application process, please contact Senator Craig's office for an extension.

"Interns have the chance to be an essential part of a working congressional office," said Craig. "They participate in the legislative process as well as ensure that constituent services run smoothly. For those interested in politics, it is an incredible opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at how our government functions while serving the people of Idaho."

Jodie Foster Finally Comes Out

foster1.jpg

Good for her.

For some people this isn't news at all, but there is an importance to actually saying something every now and then, and not letting gossip or presumption define you. Especially for young people (and everyone else!) out there who are homosexual and think there are no role models, or that gay people aren't successful, now have proof otherwise. There is also another important reason for gays to come out of the closet--it would be nice to not have men dressed in cheerleader outfits or "dykes on bikes" at parades be the only image of gay people many in American ever see.

Fallen Marine's Father Wins Lawsuit; Homophobe Phelps Ordered to Pay Up

A jury in Kansas just reminded people everywhere, to the tune of an $11 million dollar judgment, that anti-gay bigotry and attacks on this nation and our heroes will not be tolerated. Not only is this verdict a statement against lunatics like Phelps, it is a message from the heartland of our nation that tolerance and genuine compassion is at our core; not the sick fanaticism of a few disturbed malcontents. I am so proud of us.

Father of slain Marine wins case against funeral protesters

The brokenhearted father of a Marine killed in Iraq won a long-shot legal fight today after a federal jury in Baltimore awarded him nearly $11 million in a verdict against members of a Kansas church who hoisted anti-gay placards at his son's Westminster funeral.

The jury's announcement 24 hours after deliberations first began was met with tears and hugs from the family and supporters of Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder, whose March 2006 funeral was protested by members of the Westboro Baptist Church with signs including "Thank God for dead soldiers."

Snyder's father, Albert, won on every count of his complaint, as well as $2.9 million for compensatory damages and $8 million for punitive damages...

The Marine's father from York, Pa., sued the church and three of its members for intentionally invading his privacy because his deceased son did not have that right any longer. For the claim to be successful, the jury needed to conclude that the church's actions at the funeral -- and later, in a posting about Matthew Snyder on its Web site -- were "highly offensive to a reasonable person," according to the jury instructions.

Indeed.

Sweet God No! A "Men Who Look Like Old Lesbians" Blog

orbison.jpg

Roy Orbison

I am now rushing to to gym and swear I will never cut my hair. Yep, just a little bit of a wake-up call. (HT Defamer) For some reason, I personally believe that being a gay woman does not mean one has to end up looking like Roy Orbison or Peter O'Toole. I hope, for my sake, there are many out there who agree with me.

Another Dignified Lesbian Moment

Note to all women who think you may be bi- or homosexual: Do not be afraid. Despite the message "The View" spews daily, first with Rosie and now with Whoopi, you can be gay and have some dignity and class at the same time.

Whoopi Goldberg: Pelosi Admirer Extraordinaire

...Even before Pelosi walked on stage to take her seat at the round table, the show's moderator, Whoopi Goldberg, and its co-hosts - with former news anchor Barbara Walters leading the pack - started flirting with the speaker's husband, Paul, who was seated in the front row...Trying to shout over Whoopi and her other gabbing co-hosts and excited audience members, Barbara turned to Guest Pelosi and said she has heard Whoopi say before that she'd "do Paul Newman."

"And I think she'd like to do your husband as well," Walters deadpanned in that quintessential accent that made her the subject of late-night lampooning over the decades.

Of course, Whoopi being Whoopi, she couldn't let that one go, which is where the speaker begins blushing. Yes, Whoopi implicitly acknowledged, she'd like to do Mr. Pelosi - but she might take his wife while she's at it. "I would do her as well. But we should wait on that because you're still in office, I don't want to cause a problem."

You can see the entire juvenile exchange here. And if Barbara isn't careful, she's going to start sounding like Rosie did on her first talk show whenever she fawned over Tom Cruise. There is a point where it all begins to sound just a little bit ridiculous.

Why There Are "No Gays" In Iran

Celebrate Diversity!

Two gay men being executed in Iran. For being gay. Picture courtesy of Homan, the Iranian Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual and Transgender Organization. Yeah, a blog from those people who don't exist. And the holocaust never happened, and 9/11 was planned by the Jooooooz!

Most bloggers did an excellent job calling attention to and criticizing Ahmadinejad's ridiculous statement about gays in Iran during yesterday's speech at Columbia. At a certain point one does not want to be come an echo chamber, so I've waited until today to make a few points.

I'm still simply stunned by the absurdity of Ahmadinejad in New York yesterday and the finally hearing rejection and disgust from the Columbia crowd--but only when homosexuals are mentioned. Yes, of course monkey boy's comments were absurd about the gays in Iran, but they pale in comparison to his comments about wiping Israel off the map. The fact that it took a revealing, but not surprising, comment about gays to enrage the Columbia crowd illustrates how deep and blinding malignant narcissism truly is.

Believe me, Teh Gheys are not at the top of the list for annihilation by Islamists. Oh, we're on that list (certainly below the Joooooz!), so it is quite the moral abdication to passively, or even approvingly, listen to other equally fanatical and dangerous comments by the same madman.

Of those right out of the gate nailing monkey boy for what he is was Charles at LGF with a video example of what it means to be gay in Iran. The irony to all of this is the fact that the left has always had myriad of reasons to be solidly for the wr on terror and aggressive action to change the Middle East and quash Islamist regimes. But when push comes to shove, the left's lack of depth and use of issues as mere slogans comes into full view.

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!

My sister...My bride!

Maureen McCormick. Hmmm...yep.

Three words as uttered by Jan which will forever have a new meaning.

Brady Bunch Star Reveals All About Lesbian Fling With TV Sister

Wholesome former THE BRADY BUNCH star MAUREEN MCCORMICK is set to reveal the beloved 70s TV series' most shocking secret in a new book - she and her on-screen sister had a lesbian fling. MCCormick's tell-all, Here's The Story, won't hit bookstores until 2008, but publishers are already buzzing about the big reveal. As well as talking candidly about her well-documented eating disorder and drug problems in the book, TV's Marcia Brady will come clean about a romance she had with co-star Eve Plumb, who played her sister Jan on the hit show. A source tells America's National Enquirer, "The most explosive comments will be how the then-blonde, blue-eyed cutie developed a crush on Eve Plumb, which led to some sexual play. "This book will certainly come as a shocker. While Maureen is not a lesbian [of course not!--T], she reveals there were some sexual hijinks going on behind the scenes. "It's bizarre because she played such a virginal character on the show."

Jan, Jan, Jan!

Stay away from my nuts!

I'll Be on Hannity & Colmes Tonight at About 6:30pm PT

We'll be talking about tonight's Democrat forum discussing so-called "gay and lesbian" issues. I say "so-called" because with things like "Hate Crimes" on the agenda, the last time I checked there were many gays and lesbians, such as myself, who do not want to be the architects of a Thought Police state. That is quite the opposite of what the Gay civil rights movement was all about.

In fact, the Stonewall Riots in New York began because government, via the police, wouldn't stay out of our lives. Tonight's forum, I'm afraid, will reflect leftist theory as opposed to genuine civil liberties, or any theory which recognizes that small, limited government, and out keeping and controlling our own money, are the only things that will keep us free. Those two theories, of course, are now considered "conservative" politics, anathema to today's so-called gay leadership.

Melissa Etheridge will be part of the panel tonight for the candidate forum. She has said some good things in the past regarding her own concern about censorship and the emerging thought police tactics of the left. I'm hoping if anyone strikes a legitimate Classical Liberal chord, it may be her.

Hope you can tune in to H&C tonight.

Stay away from my nuts!

The Cure for Homosexuality!

odonnell.jpg

And its name is Rosie O'Donnell. Its latest Flickr post (HT Defamer) would scare any self-respecting lesbian straight. Frankly, if O'Donnell was in any other business, she'd still be on television, except it would be an episode of "Intervention," "Diagnosis X," or maybe even a segment of "Cops." At least we now know "The Price is Right" isn't doomed.

Uh, thank goodness, that lasted about all of .10 of a second. Jackie Warner, the cure for the, uh, cure. Whew, that was close.

Oh Goody--Bravo's 'Work Out' Renewed for a Third Season

warner.jpg

Jackie Warner. Well, yessiree, no argument here.

Work Out, the Bravo semi-reality series focusing on fitness trainer Jackie Warner, has been renewed for a third season.

Yes, there's lots of lesbian drama, and it's even more fun when offered by a bunch of very attractive, fit gay women. It is a guilty pleasure, and hopefully will bring into vogue the idea that lesbians can be determined, confident, focused, smart, attractive, sexy and amusing. Which, in completely honesty, is not always the case.

So, Yippee!

I have to admit, one of the most fun parallel-track things about Work Out, are the recaps of each show from a reviewer at Afterellen.com known only as "bad machine." It's got to the be funniest, most accurate and entertaining recaps of a show I've ever read in my life. In addition to enjoying the show itself, bad machine will make me laugh about the whole thing again, sort of like having leftovers, which very often are better that second time around. Here's bad machine's recap of the 2nd episode from the 2nd season. Priceless.

Not sure of the exact start date of Season 3, but don't worry, I'll keep you covered.

Elizabeth Edwards Not Uncomfortable with Teh Gheys

But her husband apparently still is. Otherwise he would have visited the prideful gheys at the San Francisco pride event himself. But he didn't.

Oh yeah, and another tiny point: she's not the one running for president, yet her not being a homophobe is supposed to mitigate that it seems he is?

Edwards's Wife Voices Support for Gay Rites

SAN FRANCISCO — None of the major candidates for the White House in 2008 has embraced legalizing gay marriage, but Elizabeth Edwards, the wife of one hopeful, John Edwards, said yesterday that she's ready.

"I don't know why someone else's marriage has anything to do with me," Mrs. Edwards said after delivering a speech to a gay and lesbian political group here, according to the Associated Press. "I'm completely comfortable with gay marriage." [...]

It was unclear whether Mrs. Edwards's comments were a deliberate effort to court the gay community without her husband having to change his stance on the sensitive issue of gay marriage.

Wow, that's genius. But last time I checked, John Edwards' issue was not just about gay marriage, it was about Teh Gheys in general. I blogged about Edwards 'discomfort' with "those people" when it was revealed by Bob Shrum in his recent book. Yet the coverage I've read of Elizabeth Edwards' genuflect in San Francisco, including the Chronicle's more extensive story, casts this exclusively as an issue about a position as opposed to John Edwards' apparent homophobia.

But the Establishment Media can't have people running around thinking about how Democrat candidates might be homophobes. Nope, that would be just too...politically incorrect.

Edwards 'Not Comfortable' Around The Gays

Johnny--not comfortable with Teh Ghey

Former Aide Takes Shots at Edwards

Robert Shrum, the veteran Democratic strategist who worked on John Edwards's 1998 Senate campaign in North Carolina, does not remember his onetime client very fondly. In his new memoir, "No Excuses: Concessions of a Serial Campaigner," Shrum recalls asking Edwards at the outset of that campaign, "What is your position, Mr. Edwards, on gay rights?"

"I'm not comfortable around those people," Edwards replied, according to Shrum. He writes that the candidate's wife, Elizabeth, told him: "John, you know that's wrong."

Well now, I'm confused. What does he mean by 'uncomfortable' anyway? The happy, fun, goofy way I'm uncomfortable when I think of Angelina Jolie, or the disgusted, nauseated uncomfortable when I think of Rosie O'Donnell?

Meeee.....yow!Who took my cheeseburger?!?

Shrum also reveals how angry the Silky Pony got when he told him he wasn't going to work on his campaign:

When Shrum called to say he had decided to join the presidential campaign of another former client, Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), Edwards was angry. "I can't believe you would do this to me and my family. I will never, ever forget it, even on my deathbed," he quotes Edwards as saying.

Stay away from my nuts! The Tiny Gay Squirrel says: "Now that is gay."

Magician Declares: Vegas Run by Gays, Jews and Americans

jubilee.jpg

And someone other than a gay man would have thought this up?

Obviously, the crowd that knows how to have the best and most fun. And hey, why doesn't he make all the Joooooz, gheys, and Americans just disappear? Oh, but then there'd be no one left to give him his own show. Silly me.

I am wondering, though, about teh ghey--was it the half-naked women in high-heels and boas that gave him his first clue?

Vegas run by gays and Jews, says magician

Swedish magician Joe Labero has provoked a strong reaction with suggestions that Las Vegas is controlled by "Jewish business syndicates, American dollar millionaires and homosexual booking agents".

As a prelude to his controversial thesis, Labero explained that he has long been close to getting his own show in Las Vegas.

"But at the end of the day it seems to be impossible - unless you are a homosexual, a Jew or an American.

"I don't mean to sound prejudiced of course, I'm just cynical. A blond Swedish Viking will have a hard time breaking through the hierarchies that control Vegas, where power rests in the hands of Jewish business syndicates, American dollar millionaires and homosexual booking agents.

"But I will get there, sooner of later," Labero told the magazine.

Those controversialist Swedish Viking illusionists!

Genius Scientists: Lesbians Getting Fat, Not Fluffy

Despite the apparent argument by some fluffy lesbians that scientists are mistaking "muscular" for obese, researchers are sticking to a finding that says lesbians are twice as likely as straight women to be fat. I tend to believe them. Last time I checked, of all the gay women in the United States (and yes, I know them all except for one or two), there was one Jackie Warner, plus one million lesbians who were not fat only because we're constantly fighting the battle of the bulge (but determined to get that six-pack. Okay, a two-pack), and then seven million other lesbians who are, well, fluffy and muscular in the Garfield way. Not in the Jackie Warner way.

Now, just to make sure things are clear:

You talkin' to me?

Jackie Warner=Fit and Muscular. And, uh, appealing.

Who took my cheeseburger?!?

Rosie O'Donnell=Unfit and Fat. And, uh, unappealing.

Yes, I am the Queen of the Understatement. This should clear up any confusion about the difference between the two.

Lesbians twice as likely to be obese

Lesbians are twice as likely as heterosexual women to be overweight or obese, which puts them at greater risk for obesity-related health problems and death, US researchers said. The report, published in the American Journal of Public Health, is one of the first large studies to look at obesity among lesbians.

“Our findings indicate that lesbian sexual identity is linked to a greater prevalence of overweight and obesity,” the authors wrote in the study, released this week.

They reviewed smaller studies that have suggested a higher prevalence of obesity among lesbians and the possible reasons why...

But the authors said they placed little confidence in the idea that lesbians were more muscular than straight women, and thus were more likely to have a high body mass index, or BMI, while having little body fat.

LOLROTFLMAO!

"Gay People: Give Me Back My Stuff!"

One of the funniest pieces I've seen addressing the gayification of certain things--gay cars, gay music, the word gay, gay whatever. I'm a little confused, though. Last time I checked, cars weren't interested in romance at all. Fortunately Alex Beam, Boston Globe columnist, explains all.

Gay people, give me back my stuff!

Omigod, my cars are so gay!

I discovered this last week, when the all-knowing New York Times Styles section revealed that Subarus are casually known as "Lesbarus." And indeed, there is my station wagon on about.com's list of "Top 10 Gay Cars " : "The Outback is a long-running lesbian champion," the website reports.

Yikes. I bought my second-hand Subaru about a year ago from a Norwegian gentleman in New Hampshire. I've known him and his wonderful family for many years. In fact, I married one of his daughters. And now I learn this. The things one never knows...

So here's my question: Is there any element of contemporary culture that hasn't been appropriated by gays? Or, phrased another way: Hey, gay people! Give me my stuff back, OK?

How Can There Be A Top 50 Gays List...

When so many incredibly powerful gays, especially in Washington, DC, are hiding deeply inside a tomb-like closet? Well, Out Magazine has presumed to do it, naming the supposed "Power 50: The Most Powerful Gay Men and Women in America." You may be surprised by some on the list, but some of the most interesting, and powerful gay men and women are not on the list because they're not out. It's just remarkably ironic that the very people who should be on a list about power are not...because they're so powerful.

That quandary makes a list like this comparable to a really good souffle--that falls. It had really good potential and has a lot of the right ingredients, but things are just not quite right, or complete, or handled properly, and boom--it becomes a souffle, sort of, but not really.

And gee, I'm not on the list. I may need to take a whole Tylenol PM tonight to get over that.

I betcha there were a bunch of Nervous Nellies (pardon the pun) waiting to see if their names were on that list. And I can tell you, several men and women in the halls of power (like Congress) have breathed a sigh of relief.
