Mexican Official Caught Stealing White House Blackberries

frito.jpg

The Blackberry Bandito

Stealing our stuff and taking things that don't belong to them apparently isn't limited to Mexican illegal aliens, it's also the preferred activity of Mexican government officials. Scum.

Secret Service Catch Mexican Official Nabbing White House BlackBerries

Whether he was up to no good or simply desperate to play BrickBreaker, a Mexican press attaché was caught on camera by Secret Service pocketing several White House BlackBerries during a recent meeting in New Orleans, FOX News has learned.

Sources with knowledge of the incident said the official, Rafael Quintero Curiel, served as the lead press advance person for the Mexican Delegation and was responsible for handling logistics and guiding the Mexican media around at the conference. He took six or seven of the handheld devices from a table outside a special room in the hotel where the Mexican delegation was meeting with President Bush earlier this week...

Sources said Quintero Curiel made it all the way to the airport before Secret Service officers caught up with him. He initially denied taking the devices, but after agents showed him the DVD, Quintero Curiel said it was purely accidental, gave them back, claimed diplomatic immunity and left New Orleans with the Mexican delegation.

And the White House reaction to what should be considered an act of spying?

White House spokeswoman Dana Perino refused to discuss the incident, telling FOX News, "We are aware of the situation, but as it's under investigation by law enforcement officials, we will decline to comment."

Of course you will, honey.

China Organizes Protest in America

chinademo.jpeg

These people should be considered Chinese agents. Unless they just happened to have huge Chinese flags hanging around. Just like we all do. And if you really love today's China, it makes all the sense in the world that you would be living in Seattle. The two places are almost indistinguishable!

Just another everyday, spontaneous Pro-China, Anti-Tibet, Hate the Dalai Lama protest. You know, reflecting the views of normal people worldwide. I'm especially amused by their signs complaining about the "violent" monks. You know, those unarmed, orange-robed guys? The ones who get mowed down with machine guns by Chinese murder squads? Those dangerous and violent monks, the dead guys over there in the pile and floating down the river. Right next to the pile Buddhist nuns that were murdered, too.

Hundreds Protest Dalai Lama in Seattle

In a showing of pro-Chinese support, hundreds of demonstrators protested outside a college arena Monday as the Dalai Lama spoke to students on solving problems through dialogue.

Thousands of people have flocked to Seattle to hear the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader speak since he arrived Thursday for a five-day conference on compassion, but the city's Chinese community had remained largely silent until Monday.

Demonstrators held signs alleging media bias and protesting the violence from rioting by Tibetan monks. Some echoed Beijing's stand that the Dalai Lama is behind the recent uprising against five decades of Chinese rule. Signs called the Dalai Lama a liar and a "CIA-funded militant." Many people waved large Chinese flags.

Considering the Chinese espionage we've been dealing with, everyone in that crowd should have been photographed and identified as a potential Chinese agent, their immigration status checked, and if not a citizen or here legally, should be deported back to their darling China. Disgusting.

A bunch of monks, the obvious Violent Bad-Guy Freaks Holding a, uh, Candlelight Vigil whom China must stop from destroying the world. Because the depraved communist Chinese regime, you see, would never hurt a fly.

Obama Pledges Driver Licenses for Illegals

His style may be similar to JFK, but the substance couldn't be more different. Bottom line: Obama is more from the Teddy wing than the RFK wing of that particular family. And if I were Obama, the last person I'd be taking 'driving' lessons from would be Teddy.

Obama takes big risk on driver's license issue

Sen. Barack Obama easily won the African American vote in South Carolina, but to woo California Latinos, where he is running 3-to-1 behind rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, he is taking a giant risk: spotlighting his support for the red-hot issue of granting driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.

It's a huge issue for Latinos, who want them [Ha! It's illegal aliens who want them, not "Latinos." Americans who are of Hispanic descent are as opposed to rewarding illegal aliens as much as everyone else. Sheesh.] It's also a huge issue for the general electorate, which most vehemently does not. Obama's stand could come back to haunt him not only in a general election, but with other voters in California, where driver's licenses for illegal immigrants helped undo former Gov. Gray Davis.

Clinton stumbled into that minefield in a debate last fall and quickly backed off. First she suggested a New York proposal for driver's licenses for illegal immigrants might be reasonable. Then she denied endorsing the idea, and later came out against them.

Asked directly about the issue now, her California campaign spokesman said Clinton "believes the solution is to pass comprehensive immigration reform."

They're all the same. Never forget the hit Hillary took when she supported Spitzer's plan. Now her answer to that is to employ the McCain style of lying to us. After all, they are such good friends. And as the saying gores, with friends like these who needs Osama bin Laden to destroy the country?

Remember, this issue emerged during a November debate because of that Spitzer debacle. On a serious issue Obama isn't quite as 'inspirational,' is he? Now, when he needs t pander to the illegal alien vote, he seems to have found his voice, something that was missing on November when asked for a yes or no answer.

Like I said, they're all the same.

FedEx Truck Hijacked, Driver Kidnapped

fedex.jpg

Not the truck hijacked, but one like it.

By men with eastern European accents. The driver was let go after 3 hours of driving around, and the 18-wheeler (!) was eventually found. Yeah, this wasn't a hijacking of the van that comes to your office or home. FedEx is still trying to determine what, if anything, is missing.

This, of course, could also have been a dry-run to see how easy it would be to hijack an 18-wheeler. In New York. During Christmas. Why foreigners would want to do that, I have no idea.

Police investigate FedEx truck hijacking

NEW YORK (AP) -- Hijackers posing as police commandeered a FedEx tractor-trailer loaded with Christmas presents and kidnapped the driver, but the would-be Grinches let him go early Friday and abandoned the rig full of packages, police said.

FedEx is trying to determine whether anything is missing from the truck, a company spokeswoman says. Six metal air freight containers stuffed with shipments were found locked in the 18-wheeler...

The heist began Thursday night on a Manhattan street as the truck headed to Newark, New Jersey...The driver told police he thought there was a third suspect as well and the men had heavy Eastern European accents.

They forced the driver face-down into the back of the SUV, told him to handcuff himself and drove him around for three hours before abandoning him in Brooklyn...

Sandra Munoz, a spokeswoman at FedEx headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee, said the truck was in police custody and the company could not immediately determine if anything was missing or estimate the value of the cargo. The truck can hold as much as 80,000 pounds when full.

No suspects have been identified and no arrests made.

Thousands Want Off Terror Watch List

They're on it because they have the same name as a terrorist or someone with terrorist ties. And what is the horrible experience these people have to go through because of our need for an abundance of caution? They can't print out a boarding pass online and, God forbid, they have to check in at the counter at the airport.

Yeah, that sounds more horrible than being hijacked and flown into a building.

15,000 want off the U.S. terror watch list

More than 15,000 people have appealed to the government since February to have their names removed from the terrorist watch list that delayed their travel at U.S. airports and border crossings, the Homeland Security Department says...

"To leave individuals in this purgatory is un-American," says Rep. Yvette Clarke, D-N.Y., who says she'll introduce legislation to try to streamline the process. [Purgatory! Ha!]

In February, the TSA launched the Traveler Redress Inquiry Program, a one-stop shop for people to appeal links to the watch list, which flags anyone with potential ties to terrorism. The list has more than 750,000 names...

John Anderson of Minneapolis, who turned 6 on July 4, is among those who have been inconvenienced.

He was first stopped at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in 2004, when his family took him for his first airplane ride to Disney World. "We checked in at the ticket counter, and the woman said in a stern voice, 'Who is John Anderson?' " says his mother, Christine Anderson. "I pointed to my stroller."

Her son is allowed to fly. But because his name is flagged, his family cannot print out a boarding pass for him online and he must check in at the ticket counter so an airline official can see that he's a child.

Considering we constantly ask Muslims to put up with extra security issues, the least someone with a name that matches a person of concern can do is try to cope with not being able to print a boarding pass online. Obviously we'll find solutions, but if this is the extent of your inconvenience, stop complaining, we're at war here.

"Z" Visa Returns: New 'Special' Visas for Illegal Alien 'Crime Victims'

@$$holes

Amnesty Politicians--Same Game, Different Name

**Bumped up: As of 9/21, this Rule has now been published in the Federal Register which means you can add your Comments. While the Feds essentially say what you think doesn't matter about this rule, comment, comment, comment, and call your all your congressional representatives, the DHS, and the White House with your rejection of this back room effort to grant amnesty to tens of thousands of illegals. Scroll down after the jump for more info, updates, phone numbers, etc.**

On its surface it sounds reasonable, but once you get into it, like anything related to the government's attitude toward illegal immigration it has amnesty and open borders written all over it.

In this instance, the Bush admin, via the Department of Homeland InSecurity (of course) is bypassing legislation and using the the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to establish a "rule" allowing illegal aliens who are supposed 'crime victims' to receive visas and special benefits. But, of course, it's really more than that. I'm sure the Amnesty Republicans feel this use of 'regulations' and 'rules' is one surefire way to avoid your pesky interference in their efforts to open the borders and the sovereignty of this nation. Let's prove them wrong. Again. There is a way for you to make a difference here. I'll have an action for you at the end of this post.

chertoff.jpg

Skeletor, Amnesty Shill-in-Chief

Special Visas for Illegal Aliens Who Become Crime Victims

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on Wednesday announced an interim final rule that grants "temporary immigration benefits" to crime victims who assist government officials in investigating or prosecuting the criminal activity.

The goal is to bring crime victims out of the shadows where they tend to hide if they fear deportation. The new rule establishes procedures for applicants seeking "U nonimmigrant status." (Congress created the "U" classification in the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act.)

People eligible for "U nonimmigrant status" include those who have suffered substantial mental or physical abuse because of illegal activity; have information regarding that activity; and are willing to assist government officials in the investigation and prosecution of the crime.

According to USCIS, "Individuals granted U nonimmigrant status may remain in the United States for up to four years, and may be accompanied by eligible family members (spouse, children, unmarried siblings under 18, and parents). "Not only do eligible petitioners obtain legal status to remain in the country, but [they] will also be provided referrals to nongovernmental organizations for assistance and additional resources, and automatic employment authorization."

How is this a defacto "Z" visa which would have given perpetual renewals of residency to illegals? From page 6 of the the Rule itself:

TSA Finally Implements "Hat" Security Screening

Hat? What hat?

One would have thought the genius Feds would have been checking under hats and turbans all this time, but apparently no. Instead, they've been feeling around my underwire bra. Yeah, lots more can get in there. Not.

And, of course, the only people upset about the new rule are those who wear turbans. Cowboys don't seem to mind. Nor do the beret-wearing French. As reader Julia notes in an email about this issue, a person can hide a hell of a lot more in their turban than they can their shoe. Sikhs and Muslims have 'religious' objections, but let's get real here. They remove their turban for convenience in a myriad of other situations, such as to shower, have sex and to sleep. Hopefully in that order. The solution here is for anyone who's upset by this to get over themselves. If you're wiling to remove your turban for comfort and ease, then remove it, briefly, for an issue involving life and death and the safety of others. Last time I checked, btw, Sikhs and Muslims die like everyone else when a bomb explodes. Your turban won't protect you from that, but removing it for a security check can.

Hats, turbans part of new extra screening at airports

WASHINGTON - Was it the monkey smuggled under a man's hat on a flight into LaGuardia Airport earlier this month? Or does the new hat screening policy reflect concerns that terrorists will find novel means to bring explosives onto airliners?

The Transportation Security Administration won't say. But an Aug. 4 directive advising the nation's 43,000 airport screeners to scrutinize anyone wearing a head covering that might hide explosives -- be it a turban, baseball cap or beret -- is prompting bitter denunciations by Sikhs and Muslims, whose head coverings are part of their religious observance.

"We have complaints from our community that the way it's being conveyed on the ground is a mandatory pat-down [of turbans]," said Neha Singh of the Sikh Coalition, the nation's largest Sikh civil rights organization. "People who travel all the time tell us that they're stopped every time."

Cry me a river.

New York, Los Angeles, Miami Receive Dirty Bomb Threat

Whining and threatening is business as usual for al-Qaida, but for some reason authorities are taking this international 'unsubstatiated' threat especially seriously.

NYPD Mobilizes Against Dirty Bomb Threat, But No Evidence Found So Far

New York City police are checking cars and monitoring the air this afternoon in response to an unsubstantiated terror threat involving a "dirty bomb," but so far authorities say they have found no evidence to verify the threat.

Authorities last night established a series of checkpoints in Lower Manhattan and at other Manhattan entry points, where officers were checking cars and trucks and questioning drivers in response to what the NYPD called a "reported radiological threat." [...]

The website alleged that monitors had intercepted Internet chatter suggesting that al Qaeda was planning a radioactive truck attack on American targets that included New York, Los Angeles and Miami.

"The chatter came in a rush Thursday p.m. our time on various al Qaeda coded forums," an editor with the Jerusalem-based website said when contacted Saturday via e-mail. "Friday, it stopped, but was resumed Saturday. These are internal sites used by al Qaeda operatives. They don't usually refer specifically to operations on this scale. Our monitors therefore alerted us."

One answer about why this net information is being acted come from Catherine Herridge at Fox News. She has just reported that the person on the al-Qaida site who has discussed this potential event one year ago also revealed the liquid bomb airline threat before it came to the attention of British authorities.

NAFTA/SPP Meeting with Bush, Harper and Calderon

It's set for August 20-21 in Montebello, Canada. The euphemisms for what will be discussed are priceless. Things like the "Western Hemisphere travel initiative." And I wish I could be a fly on the wall when George tries to explain to Felipe how that amnesty/open borders initiative (or should I say 'travel initiative'?) he no doubt promised him, failed.

Yeah, perhaps they'll have a little talk about the difference between a monarchy and a democracy, especially that pesky part where "the people" get to decide such issues, not a so-called singular "Decider."

Bush talks to Canadian leader ahead of summit

US President George W. Bush and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Tuesday discussed bilateral ties and relations with Mexico ahead of a three-way summit next month, the White House said.

Bush, Harper, and Mexican President Felipe Calderon will meet in Montebello, Canada on August 20-21 in the third such summit in six years, spokesman Tony Snow told reporters.

"The meeting agenda will include security and prosperity partnership. The leaders also will have time to discuss bilateral hemispheric and global issues. It will mark the president's fourth trip to Canada," said Snow. In the telephone call, Bush and Harper "reviewed a range of bilateral issues, including the issues with softwood lumber and implementation of the Western Hemisphere travel initiative," said the spokesman...

Man Smuggles Monkey Onto Airplane

The man had to take off his shoes, but apparently not his hat. After all, there's no reason to think someone would hide anything under a hat. (HT Pat S.)

Airline asks, 'Is that a monkey in your ponytail?'

Passengers aboard Spirit Airlines Flight 180 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to New York's LaGuardia International Airport had an unexpected travel companion Wednesday: a small monkey.

A passenger who originally departed from Lima, Peru, and connected in Fort Lauderdale had been hiding the small monkey in his ponytail, under his hat, according to Spirit Airlines spokeswoman Alison Russell.

During the flight, the monkey crawled out of its hiding spot, forcing the owner to hold it in his hands, where the unexpected visitor was soon spotted by fellow passengers and crew members, Russell said.

The Port Authority Police Department was contacted by Spirit Airlines, and officials met the owner and the monkey at the gate.

Port Authority spokesman Pasquale DiFulco released a statement saying the monkey was never loose in the airport, as originally reported.

"We've contacted health officials, and man and monkey will be turned over to appropriate officials. He was never on the loose in the airport," DiFulco said

Deliberate Car Crash at Nuke Plant No Big Deal

Yeah, I hate it when I run a checkpoint at a nuke plant, hit the gas when I'm asked to stop, crash into a barrier, and then take off running. I mean, it happens to often, it's now just no big deal.

I especially like it when no one shoots at me to stop me and I am able, in fact, to run away on foot. It's fun.

Car Crashes at Nuclear Weapons Plant

OAK RIDGE, Tenn...Guards at the Y-12 nuclear weapons plant, a primary storehouse for bomb-grade uranium, said the man "appeared to be impaired in some way" when they stopped him around 5 a.m. at a security checkpoint near a rear entrance, spokesman Bill Wilburn said.

They asked him for identification, but the man hit the gas and drove through the checkpoint, then crashed into security barriers a short distance away, Wilburn said.

"When he hit that, he jumped out of the car and ran away. He left the car there with the engine still running," Wilburn said. He said the guards told him the car had been hot-wired... Steve Wyatt, spokesman for the National Nuclear Security Administration in Oak Ridge, which oversees the Y-12 plant, downplayed the crash, saying it was "next to nothing." The plant makes and dismantles uranium parts in nuclear warheads.

U.S. Fears: Hamas Will Use U.S. Intel and Weapons Against Israel

Captain Obvious is reporting that yes, it seems likely terrorist group Hamas will use the $100 million plus in U.S. aid to Fatah when they were the terrorist group running the Gaza Strip. Hamas captured weapons, ammunition and CIA secrets and now the geniuses who thought it would be a good idea to give money and weapons to terrorists are afraid the Unapproved-Of Terrorists will use that booty to kill Israelis and, well, I suppose everyone else on Earth if they have the chance.

Hamas Victory Brings Secrets

When the Islamist group Hamas conquered the Gaza Strip in June it seized an intelligence-and-military infrastructure created with U.S. help by the security chiefs of the Palestinian territory's former ruler.

According to current and former Israeli intelligence officials, former U.S. intelligence personnel and Palestinian officials, Hamas has increased its inventory of arms since the takeover of Gaza and picked up technical expertise -- such as espionage techniques -- that could assist the group in its fight against Israel or Washington's Palestinian allies, the Fatah movement founded by Yasser Arafat.

Hamas leaders say they acquired thousands of paper files, computer records, videos, photographs and audio recordings containing valuable and potentially embarrassing intelligence information gathered by Fatah. For more than a decade, Fatah operated a vast intelligence network in Gaza established under the tutelage of the Central Intelligence Agency...

Funding known terrorists is bad enough, which is exactly what we're doing when we give money to Fatah. But what do we do when those terrorists also end up being inept, and run like frightened dogs leaving all our aid and secrets behind? Why, throw even more money at them of course! A report from about 10 days ago highlights the rank absurdity of how we do business, and exactly what George W. Bush thinks we should be doing with our tax dollars:

Bush to offer more aid to Palestinians

American President George Bush will on Monday offer new support for the Fatah-led government of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, marking a higher profile effort to resolve the Middle East conflict.

Bush will announce $190-million (about R1,3-billion) in new aid to the Abbas government according to a US official who spoke on condition of anonymity...The $190-million is for the current fiscal year 2007 that ends on September 30. That aid is in addition to some aid programs that have already been announced, including $86-million (about R602-million) the administration has requested from Congress that was intended to provide security for Abbas.

And this from a man who refuses to use federal tax dollars on stem cell research because it's "immoral." He doesn't even bother to even make an effort to appear consistent. Protect embryos, save fetuses, fund terrorists. Genius.

Despite the fact that Bush has cut anti-terrorism funds for American cities, we have, somehow,m managed to find $20 billion in military aid for September 11th terrorist home country Saudi Arabia.

The New World Disorder of the TSA, In Pictures

So, just to make sure we're all on the same page. Here in pictures is the latest warning, which really isn't a warning at all, to the summer flying public now that the warning has been made, uh, public. Nothing to see here.

Nothing at all.

Nothing should be different...Security lines shouldn’t be longer, carry-on restrictions shouldn’t be tighter and baggage checks shouldn’t be stiffer...the alert was completely routine...

Revealed: Dubai Ports Deal Payoff by White House

Well, well, well. I always say to you here and on Tammy Radio that some of the positions of the Bush White House don't quite make sense, and the truth will eventually reveal itself. I've said it repeatedly about his amnesty obsession, and now we just may have the truth about the inexplicable back-room attempt to hand our ports over the Jew-hating Islamist country of Dubai/UAE.

Bill Gertz is reporting if we approved them taking over the majority of our ports, they would "allow" us to look inside their worldwide port network. Of course, one would think if you were a true ally in the War on Radical Islamists, you wouldn't need a pay-off of to let us keep an eye on worldwide port activity.

At the same time, I think it would be nice if we actually used spies to spy on things like that so we wouldn't have to ask a country run by the equivalent of the enemy (Radical, Jew-hating, misogynistic Islamists) for permission to get the information we need to keep this nation safe.

Selling off a major infrastructure element of our nation, putting at serious risk our homeland security, to accomplish what our intel agencies should have been tasked to do anyway. Absolute effing-genius.

CIA sabotage

Former Inside the Ring co-author Rowan Scarborough has written a new book revealing a key reason the Bush administration pressed hard for the 2006 deal for the United Arab Emirates-based Dubai Ports World to take over management of several U.S. ports.

According to Mr. Scarborough, the administration wanted the deal to go through because the UAE government had agreed to let the United States post agents inside its global port network who could report on world shipping. Dubai Ports currently runs port facilities at key U.S. intelligence targets, including Venezuela, China, Pakistan, India and Saudi Arabia.

Chertoff Has "Gut Feelings" About Impending Terror Attack

I have gut feelings about terrorism, too. If this is all it takes, maybe I should be the Secretary of Homeland Security.

And how many hundreds of billions of dollars have we spent in the creation of an entirely new Homeland Defense infrastructure and bureaucracy, and we get a guy who is relying on his feelings about what the enemy might do.

Oh yeah, and with all the resources of the federal government at his disposal, guess who he says is responsible for thwarting another terror attack here? You. Oh, and me, too.

Officials worry of summer terror attack

U.S. counterterror officials are warning of an increased risk of an attack this summer, given al-Qaida's apparent interest in summertime strikes and increased al-Qaida training in the Afghan-Pakistani border region.

On Tuesday, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff told the editorial board of The Chicago Tribune that he had a "gut feeling" about a new period of increased risk.

"Summertime seems to be appealing to them," Chertoff said in his discussion with the newspaper about terrorists. "We worry that they are rebuilding their activities." [...] Chertoff said he is convinced that terrorists are regrouping. "Our edge is technology and the vigilance of the ordinary citizen," he said.

The secretary also urged Americans to be watchful for suspicious activities in the wake of recent terror incidents in England and Scotland.

Six years after September 11th and the plan is for us to 'watch out.' From the man who wanted to legalize 20 million strangers and open the border to more.

I am beginning to have a great deal of sympathy, understanding and admiration for the Frenchmen who stormed the Bastille.

ACLU Loses=America Wins

Score one for the United States in our effort to defend ourselves. One of our tools to combat the enemy is still intact, despite efforts by the ACLU to destroy it.

A U.S. appeals court has dismissed a lawsuit brought by the ACLU against the NSA's Homeland Security wiretapping program. This is the program that monitors conversations between individuals in the United States and people in foreign countries with ties to al-Qaida. Yeah, exactly the sort of thing that helps keep this nation safe, and exactly the sort of thing the ACLU can't stand.

Court Dismisses Lawsuit Against U.S. Wiretapping

A U.S. appeals court has ordered that a lawsuit against the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) for a wiretapping program be dismissed because the plaintiffs haven't been hurt by the agency's actions.

A divided three-judge panel for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit ruled Friday that the lawsuit, brought by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and a group of journalists, lawyers and academics, be sent back to a district court judge to be dismissed. In August 2006, Judge Anna Diggs Taylor of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan ruled the NSA program, which monitored telephone and Internet communications without court-ordered warrants, was illegal.

The appeals court ruled that the plaintiffs didn't prove they'd been affected by the NSA's Terrorist Surveillance Program, authorized by U.S. President George Bush in 2002. The program allowed the NSA to monitor communications between U.S. residents and people in other countries with suspected ties to terrorist group al Qaeda...

The U.S. Department of Justice, which appealed the lower court ruling on behalf of the NSA, said it was pleased with the decision. The NSA program was "a vital intelligence program that helped detect and prevent terrorist attacks," Brian Roehrkasse, the DOJ's acting director of public affairs, said in a statement.

It's not over yet, though. The ACLU can still appeal to the US Supreme Court. Of the many disappointments we've endured from President Bush, at least we now have a 5-4 reasonable majority on the court. Of course, that's only because of the outrage surrounding the Harriet Miers choice, but we got it done.

Iraqis Caught in Mexico with Fake Passports

**I posted this story originally in January, but considering the Amnesty Bill fight, I think it appropriate to bump up as a reminder of why Bush's Open Border agenda is not only absurd but increasingly dangerous**

In the meantime, as we're arresting and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars prosecuting border patrol agents, Mexico has detained nine Iraqis, with fake passports, trying to board a plane bound for California.

Mexico Holding 11 Iraqis With Fake Papers

Eleven Iraqis carrying false passports and heading to California were arrested at Monterrey's airport, immigration officials said Monday.

Nine men, a woman and a two-year-old girl traveled from Madrid, Spain, to Monterrey, where they were detained Saturday, an immigration official said on condition of anonymity because she was not authorized to speak publicly about the arrests.

They say they're Christians fleeing oppression in Iraq. Funny thing, they arrived from Madrid, where Christians are treated pretty darn well. But now, apparently, fleeing from persecution requires landing in California. Yeah, and I'm Jayne Mansfield. Well, I suppose I am a little, but not completely.

Oh yeah, and there apparently very few women Christians who need to 'flee' Iraq. This group of 11 had one woman among them (caring for the baby). For a bunch of male Iraqi 'Christians,' it's amazing how they have no women in their lives.

The Flying Imams: Protecting Tipsters

A post by Maynard

You've heard about the 6 imams removed from a flight out of Minneapolis after passengers reported suspicious activities. These passengers are now stuck defending themselves against a civil lawsuit brought by the imams.

Former New York Mayor Ed Koch has written this editorial discussing the "King amendment", a proposed Federal law to protect tipsters who act reasonably and in good faith against this sort of legal harassment. The amendment passed in the House by 304 votes to 121. In the Senate, Senators Lieberman and Kyl and Collins have introduced similar legislation.

Koch notes that a majority of the New York State representatives in the House voted against the King amendment, 13 yea to 16 nay. The yeas were the 6 Republican representatives plus 7 Democrats. The 16 nays were all Democrats.

In the recent terrorist plot against Fort Dix, a store clerk had observed suspicious behavior and tipped off authorities. We're lucky this man thought saving lives was worth the risk of a lawsuit. As Mayor Koch observes, two thirds of the New York Democrats don't seem to understand what's at stake, as they vote to keep this potentially-deadly burden on the shoulders of the good guys.

Clarity about Leadership for the Weeks Ahead

There are two immediate fronts in the War on Radical islamists: abroad and here at home. The commitment to keeping the enemy at bay should mean that we secure our borders and ports, but we have done the opposite. In the 6 1/2 years since September 11th, efforts have been made to make our ports less secure (remember the Dubai Ports deal?) and President Bush, the man who supposed to be confronting the terrorists and keeping this nation safe, has helped to craft an amnesty bill that would allow even al-Qaida terrorists here illegally to gain legal status, with benefits, in less than a day.

With all the work and updates I'll have for you, the phone calls, faxes, emails and convincing we have to do because of the blind sell-out ,of this country by today's self-obsessed politicians, I want to remind you what sort of leader we are capable of producing and elevating to the highest office in the land.

First, here's a clip of who that is not: President Bush just last month from one of the most infuriating little 'town halls' he ever had. Many of you will remember me covering this during Tammy Radio. At Tippecanoe High School in Ohio, an auditorium filled with adults, the president repeats the same old rhetoric from years ago about why we're in Iraq. His attitude is patronizing and insulting. He is talking to those adults, and thus the rest of us, as though we are children, and need to be reminded that the enemy wants to kill us. What the president doesn't understand is that we have stopped supporting him not because we're morons who don't understand the threat and have lost focus, it's because he doesn't get it, evidenced by the fact that he is still refusing to allow our military to kill the enemy.

To cleanse your palate, and for deeply personal inspiration we need to defeat/confront both the amnesty bill and the cut-and-run/screw the troops bill, here's President Reagan, about forty years ago, stumping for Barry Goldwater. This is a speech about the Soviet Union, but it is immediately relevant today, simply switch out the Soviets for al-Qaida, bin Laden for Breshnev, and yesterday's left for today's moonbats because leftists, like cancer, never change, they just keep having to be fought off and defeated. Compare this to that pathetic absurdity of Bush above. It truly takes your breath away. Thank goodness we at least have President Reagan on tape. It's a voice you're going to hear on Tammy Radio a lot as the weeks proceed, because there's certainly no one else out there right now. Remember, we had to go through President Carter to get President Reagan. Yes, history does repeat itself. We've got our Neo-Carter, let's hope our New Reagan is around the corner.

Six Arrested in Terror Plot in New Jersey

As is the case in reading most of the coverage, you'd need to be listening to talk radio or surfing the net to know that we're not dealing with Swedish Lutherans Gone Wild here. All six are Muslim, three from Albania, one from Turkey and the other from Jordan. Three are illegal aliens.

Michelle Malkin has, as usual, excellent coverage. Here is the FBI affidavit, and for anyone still confused about who these men are, here is some background on the suspects:

The suspects, identified as Dritan Duka, Eljvir Duka, Shain Duka, Mohamad Shnewer, Derdar Tatar and Agron Abdullahu, have been charged with conspiring to kill U.S. government employees. Separately, the Duka brothers have been charged with being illegal aliens in possession of firearms.

The Dukas, believed to be Islamic radicals, are in the United States illegally, while Shnewer is a U.S. citizen born in Jordan, according to the Justice Department.

The U.S. Attorney's office has told NewsChannel 4 that one of the suspects was born in Turkey and four in the former Yugoslavia. Investigators said most of the suspects have spent several years in the United States.

Dritan Duka=Illegal Alien
Eljvir Duka=Illegal Alien
Shain Duka=Illegal Alien
Mohamad Shnewer=Naturalized American from Jordanian (the pizza shop owner)
Derdar Tatar=Turkey "in the U.S. illegally," which probably means overstaying his visa.
Agron Abdullahu=Former Yugoslavia, also here "illegally."

Their first hearing was at 1pm ET and a press conference with the NJ DA and other law enforcement is scheduled for 2:30pm ET.

Captain's Quarters notes that the targeting of Ft.Dix is "strange." It does seem so, but ultimately makes sense as a pizza shop owner, Shnewer had easy and regular access to the base.

CAIR Wants Federal Money, Conveniently Gets 'Threatening Letter'

Just in time to bolster their request for grants from the Department of Homeland Security to enhance their "security." Details and research from Pat S.

***

April 27 - DHS announces grant $ available
April 29 - CAIR advises mosques to apply for $
May 1 - CAIR gets threatening letter

Tammy,

CAIR claims they received a threatening letter. They are advising Islamic "non-profit" groups to apply for grant money from DHS for security enhancements. This grant program will provide more than $24 million to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations who are deemed high-risk for a potential international terrorist attack. So CAIR wants DHS money for Islamic organizations to protect them from a potential international terrorist attack.

And you know the DHS will probably go for it.

Letter Threatens to 'Terminate' Detroit-Area Muslims

The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) today said it received a letter threatening Muslims in the Detroit area...It is important that law enforcement officials, elected representatives and community leaders take these kinds of threats seriously and act accordingly," said Walid.

He also encouraged Islamic non-profit groups to apply for recently-announced DHS grants to receive training and to purchase equipment such as video cameras, alarm systems and other security enhancements. The grants are offered through the Urban Areas Security Initiative Nonprofit Security Grant Program.

CAIR: Action: Grants Available to Boost Mosque Security

DHS ANNOUNCES $24 MILLION AVAILABLE TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS TO STRENGTHEN SECURITY THROUGH UASI PROGRAM

The following information was released by the Department of Homeland Security:

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced today that nonprofit organizations in the 46 designated UASI areas are eligible to apply for funds as part of the fiscal year (FY) 2007 Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP). This grant program will provide more than $24 million to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations who are deemed high-risk for a potential international terrorist attack.

Mexico, Truckers and Bush's Wide Open Borders

Speaking of Homeland Security, President Bush's drive to eliminate our borders and sovereignty continues unabated. In the last posting, we had a story about how various people were concerned about the safety of the roads and whether or not the TSA was doing its job when it comes to making sure trusted individuals are behind the wheels of trucks roaming through our great country.

All of that is a joke considering we are now fully opening the borders into this country to Mexican long haul freight truckers. That's right--now hundreds of Mexican trucking companies can have their drivers just come on through the border. Mexico, of course, has no real mechanical standards for their trucks, we have no idea who is behind the wheel, and considering the propensity for illegal aliens to drink and drive (and consequently kill), isn't it comforting to know that thousands more Mexicans will be driving around the U.S. And not even in little cars--but big freight trucks.

Yeah, I'm impressed. Thanks President Bush. What a boon this will be for the enemy during a time of war, but on more strike at the sovereignty of this nation.

Mexico sees full U.S. access for truckers in 2008

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexican and U.S. cargo trucks will likely have unlimited access to highways in both countries from July 2008, ending a 25-year restriction on cross-border trade, the Mexican government said on Tuesday.

Mexican officials said 100 trucking companies chosen from each country would be able to roam freely from July 15 this year in a year-long program that should precede a full opening of the borders to freight haulers.

"We expect trucks to be able to travel freely throughout North America by the summer of 2008," said Beatriz Leycegui, Mexico's deputy minister for international trade negotiations...

The ministry said that a binational panel assigned to oversee the year-long program would ensure that the countries gave each others' trucks equal access, and would adopt a "zero tolerance" policy toward discrimination against trucking companies and their drivers based on their country of origin.

You know what that means--no border patrol agent will be allowed to ask the national origin of the driver of a truck headed into the United States. What are the odds there will be an agent or two who will not be able to tell the difference between an Iranian, a Saudi Arabian and a Mexican? And even if he thinks there's an issue, he will not be allowed to inquire.

The timing here is also perfect--thousands and thousands of Mexican trucks roaming freely throughout the United States by the summer of 2008--just before our presidential election. What could go wrong there? Not that we've seen terrorist attacks implemented in countries just prior to national presidential elections. Actually, we should check with Spain and Indonesia and Russia about that issue.

Criminal Truckers and So-Called Homeland Security

The idea of Homeland Security is more of a joke than ever. It is now clear that anyone who wants to be the driver of a gasoline tanker truck can be, even someone with an extensive criminal history. Case in point: the man who crashed a tanker truck causing a San Francisco freeway to collapse.

California Highway Collapse Trucker Has Long Criminal Record

OAKLAND, Calif. — The man behind the wheel of a tanker truck hauling thousands of gallons of gas that exploded and brought down one of Northern California's most traveled highways had a long criminal rap sheet. But he still got a license.

The fiery crash has thrown a spotlight on the limits of anti-terrorism rules that may not prevent people with checkered backgrounds from hauling hazardous materials on highways...

Mosqueda, 51, cleared an FBI criminal history check and an intelligence review from the U.S. Transportation Security Administration.

The TSA said the checks aren't designed to identify people with Mosqueda's type of record, which includes a two-year prison term for a 1996 heroin conviction and other arrests but no terror charges. "We're looking for terrorists," spokeswoman Andrea McCauley said Tuesday. "We're looking for people who would be involved in terrorist activities — that's the scope."

Sure, there's no reason to think that a Hispanic man with a criminal record and history of serious drug abuse would be a security threat related to terrorism. No reason at all to consider how he might be vulnerable to drug cartels and the fact that Hamas, Hezbollah and al-Qaida are running the major drug operations in South America and have an interest in men who will help them not only move drugs, but gain them access to potential terrorist WMD--like a tanker truck carrying thousand of gallons of gasoline.

Nope, nothing to see here.

And we certainly shouldn't wonder if Mosqueda is even a citizen. No, asking that question was far too politically incorrect.

Tennessee Vote Repeals State Property Gun Ban

It's nice to see that we're not the only ones who understand the absurdity of keeping the law-abiding from being able to defend themselves. In light of the VTech massacre, the Tennessee state house has done the right thing. Once again Tennessee setting itself apart as a state with a head on its shoulders :) (HT Susan).

House vote permits guns in more places

NASHVILLE - In a surprise move, a House panel voted Wednesday to repeal a state law that forbids the carrying of handguns on property and buildings owned by state, county and city governments - including parks and playgrounds.

"I think the recent Virginia disaster - or catastrophe or nightmare or whatever you want to call it - has woken up a lot of people to the need for having guns available to law-abiding citizens," said Rep. Frank Niceley, R-Strawberry Plains. "I hope that is what this vote reflects."

While imperfect, the bill and vote is an excellent indication that some politicians understand the absurdity of keeping guns away from the law-abiding. This bill still has some steps to take, so everyone in Tennessee, make sure you keep an eye on this and makes sure your lawmakers know you support it.

Flying Imams Shield Law Passes

Rusty at the Jawa Report has all the details. This is the amendment to protect average Americans from being sued who report suspicious activity on flights. This after CAIR included in a lawsuit against US Airways an intent to sue the passengers on the flight who reported the imams suspicious behavior.

Welcome, CAIR, to the world of "every action has a reaction." I know we're a little slow sometimes, but it's nice to see Repubs (to whom we exclusively owe this victory) wake up.

House votes to protect 'John Does' on flights

House Republicans tonight surprised Democrats with a procedural vote to protect public-transportation passengers from being sued if they report suspicious activity -- the first step by lawmakers to protect "John Doe" airline travelers already targeted in such a lawsuit.

After a heated debate and calls for order, the motion to recommit the Democrats' Rail and Public Transportation Security Act of 2007 back to committee with instructions to add the protective language passed on a vote of 304-121...

Rep. Peter T. King, New York Republican and ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee, offered the motion saying all Americans -- airline passengers included -- must be protected from lawsuits if they report suspicious behavior that may foreshadow a terrorist attack.

"All of our lives changed after September 11, and one of the most important things we have done is ask local citizens to do what they can to avoid another terrorist attack, if you see something, say something," said Mr. King...

The motion to recommit was based on a bill introduced last week by Rep. Steve Pearce, New Mexico Republican, to protect "John Does" or passengers targeted in a lawsuit filed by six Muslim imams earlier
