Mexican Official Caught Stealing White House Blackberries

frito.jpg

The Blackberry Bandito

Stealing our stuff and taking things that don't belong to them apparently isn't limited to Mexican illegal aliens, it's also the preferred activity of Mexican government officials. Scum.

Secret Service Catch Mexican Official Nabbing White House BlackBerries

Whether he was up to no good or simply desperate to play BrickBreaker, a Mexican press attaché was caught on camera by Secret Service pocketing several White House BlackBerries during a recent meeting in New Orleans, FOX News has learned.

Sources with knowledge of the incident said the official, Rafael Quintero Curiel, served as the lead press advance person for the Mexican Delegation and was responsible for handling logistics and guiding the Mexican media around at the conference. He took six or seven of the handheld devices from a table outside a special room in the hotel where the Mexican delegation was meeting with President Bush earlier this week...

Sources said Quintero Curiel made it all the way to the airport before Secret Service officers caught up with him. He initially denied taking the devices, but after agents showed him the DVD, Quintero Curiel said it was purely accidental, gave them back, claimed diplomatic immunity and left New Orleans with the Mexican delegation.

And the White House reaction to what should be considered an act of spying?

White House spokeswoman Dana Perino refused to discuss the incident, telling FOX News, "We are aware of the situation, but as it's under investigation by law enforcement officials, we will decline to comment."

Of course you will, honey.

The Continuing Corruption of Islamism

Terrorism is just one symptom of the increasing depravity of Islamism worldwide. If the murder of innocent people in the name of God is possible and argued for using the foundation of a certain religion, we shouldn't be too surprised to learn that the rot moves to the core. During Ramadan I brought you the truth of the matter when it comes to the abuse of children during Islam's holiest time. Last week we endured the story of Muslim beasts in Yemen and the 8-year-old "bride" travesty. Her parents facilitated the abuse of the girl, and the 28-year-old to whom she was given thought it was all fine and dandy too. But it doesn't stop there. Here is another story of the use and abuse of children in the name of Islam. If Muslims had any real concern about Islam and the image in the co-called Prophet Muhammad, they might be taken a little more seriously if they dealt with the psychopaths who murder in the name of Muhammad and in instances around the world, enslave children.

Boy flees Islamic school that makes beggars of African kids

DAKAR, Senegal - On the day he decided to run away, 9-year-old Coli awoke on a filthy mat...It was still dark as he set out for the mouth of a freeway with the other boys, a tribe of 7-, 8- and 9-year-old beggars...

There are 1.2 million Colis in the world today, children trafficked to work for the benefit of others. Those who lure them into servitude make $15 billion annually, according to the International Labor Organization.

It's big business in Senegal. In the capital of Dakar alone, at least 7,600 child beggars work the streets, according to a study released in February by the ILO, the United Nations Children's Fund and the World Bank. The children collect an average of 300 African francs a day, just 72 cents, reaping their keepers $2 million a year.

Most of the boys — 90 percent, the study found — are sent out to beg under the cover of Islam, placing the problem at the complicated intersection of greed and tradition. For among the cruelest facts of Coli's life is that he was not stolen from his family. He was brought to Dakar with their blessing to learn Islam's holy book.

In the name of religion, Coli spent two hours a day memorizing verses from the Quran and over nine hours begging to pad the pockets of the man he called his teacher...Not all Quranic boarding schools force their students to beg. But for the most part, what was once an esteemed form of education has degenerated into child trafficking. Nowadays, Quranic instructors net as many children as they can to increase their daily take.

Read the whole story and learn a little bit more of the beasts who dare to condemn others, and the world, including our president and the Pope actually argue that this sort of society should be treated as civilized and like all others. Shameful.

China Organizes Protest in America

chinademo.jpeg

These people should be considered Chinese agents. Unless they just happened to have huge Chinese flags hanging around. Just like we all do. And if you really love today's China, it makes all the sense in the world that you would be living in Seattle. The two places are almost indistinguishable!

Just another everyday, spontaneous Pro-China, Anti-Tibet, Hate the Dalai Lama protest. You know, reflecting the views of normal people worldwide. I'm especially amused by their signs complaining about the "violent" monks. You know, those unarmed, orange-robed guys? The ones who get mowed down with machine guns by Chinese murder squads? Those dangerous and violent monks, the dead guys over there in the pile and floating down the river. Right next to the pile Buddhist nuns that were murdered, too.

Hundreds Protest Dalai Lama in Seattle

In a showing of pro-Chinese support, hundreds of demonstrators protested outside a college arena Monday as the Dalai Lama spoke to students on solving problems through dialogue.

Thousands of people have flocked to Seattle to hear the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader speak since he arrived Thursday for a five-day conference on compassion, but the city's Chinese community had remained largely silent until Monday.

Demonstrators held signs alleging media bias and protesting the violence from rioting by Tibetan monks. Some echoed Beijing's stand that the Dalai Lama is behind the recent uprising against five decades of Chinese rule. Signs called the Dalai Lama a liar and a "CIA-funded militant." Many people waved large Chinese flags.

Considering the Chinese espionage we've been dealing with, everyone in that crowd should have been photographed and identified as a potential Chinese agent, their immigration status checked, and if not a citizen or here legally, should be deported back to their darling China. Disgusting.

monks2.jpg

A bunch of monks, the obvious Violent Bad-Guy Freaks Holding a, uh, Candlelight Vigil whom China must stop from destroying the world. Because the depraved communist Chinese regime, you see, would never hurt a fly.

Treason Now Gets You Only 10 Years In Prison

Maybe even less. Selling out our nation's security to a Communist pit ultimately bent on destroying the Free World is a crime which should get you hanged. Apparently not these days, even when spying for China, one of the most depraved, genocidal nations on Earth.

Former Pentagon official pleads guilty in China spy case

A former Pentagon official pleaded guilty in court Monday to an espionage charge over the disclosure of secret data to an alleged Chinese agent in the US. Gregg Bergersen said he was unaware that the Taiwan-born businessman was passing the information to China. Mr. Bergersen, a weapons systems policy analyst who resigned his job last week, could face up to 10 years in prison.

The leaked data concerned US weapons programs for Taiwan, which China has threatened to regain by force, if necessary. Taiwan is a potential flash point for US-China rivalry in East Asia, and US military support for Taiwan is an irritant to Beijing. In turn, Taiwan has flagged China's steady buildup of missiles capable of hitting Taiwan. US military officials have warned that China and Russia have stepped up military spying activities in recent years, focusing on advanced weapon technology...

In two separate developments this week, a judge in California agreed to postpone until next May the trial of a Chinese-American engineer charged with stealing military and aerospace trade secrets on behalf of China, the Associated Press reports, and a federal court sentenced a Chinese-born engineer working on a Navy warship to 24 years in jail for trying to pass "sensitive data" to China, Bloomberg reports.

Despite all this, including the poisoned and tainted food and medicine with which China has been flooding our nation, as well as dangerous and defective toys for children and weakened steel for our buildings, President Bush still plans on traveling to China to enjoy the Olympic games while boosting the image of that pit as a civilized nation.

No wonder they have contempt for us as they try to issue Death by a Thousand Cuts.

Chinese-Made Heparin Contaminent Identified

Maybe everything from China is cheaper because they use deadly counterfeit ingredients. As some are now suggesting on the internet, let's have the Chinese make our nuclear weapons, too, if it's such a great bargain and China is such a great friend.

FDA identifies contaminant in blood thinner

The substance wouldn't have occurred naturally in the heparin from China, the agency says, suggesting a counterfeit drug could be involved. The import may have led to the deaths of up to 19 in the U.S.

The Food and Drug Administration said today it has identified a mystery ingredient that contaminated a type of blood thinner imported from China that could have led to as many as 19 U.S. deaths and hundreds of severe allergic reactions among frail patients.

FDA Deputy Commissioner Janet Woodcock said the contaminant would not have occurred naturally in the many steps involved in processing the blood thinner heparin. That raised the possibility that a counterfeit drug could ultimately be blamed in the case.

"At this moment, we don't know whether it was introduced intentionally or by accident," she said. Officials stopped short of saying they suspected the heparin to be counterfeit, but they clearly indicated they were investigating that possibility.

Gee, like when the Chinese laced toothpaste and cough syrup with antifreeze? And the time they sent melamine for use as a pet food ingredient? Like those other possibilities of counterfeit ingredients?

France's jobless rate lowest since 1983

France's national statistics agency said Thursday that the country's jobless rate has fallen to 7.8 percent, its lowest level since 1983.The Insee statistics agency says the drop in the fourth quarter of 2007 was the lowest rate since the fourth quarter of 1983. It fell from 8.3 percent in the third quarter. Insee says the rate is even lower if only metropolitan France is counted, standing at 7.5 percent, or 2.1 million people.

Cutting jobs has been a priority of successive French governments, and President Nicolas Sarkozy has put it at the top of his list, too. But he told the daily newspaper Le Figaro that the economy needs reforming to create jobs and reduce deficits.

Mexican drug hitmen kill singer near U.S. border

Drug hitmen have killed a popular Mexican singer along with his manager and assistant near the U.S. border, authorities said on Wednesday, the latest murder among musicians who sing "narcocorrido" ballads glorifying drug traffickers.

The body of Jesus Rey David Alfaro, known as "The Little Rooster," was one of six that turned up tortured, murdered and pinned with threatening messages for Mexico's army last week in the border town of Tijuana near San Diego...

The official was referring to Tijuana's main drug smuggling cartel, which is fighting a gory turf war with traffickers from Mexico's Pacific state of Sinaloa, led by the country's most-wanted man, Joaquin "Shorty" Guzman.

Alfaro, a regular act at Tijuana's biggest bars and music halls, was found covered in a blanket in wasteland on the edge of the city with rope marks around his neck, suggesting he was tortured before he was shot in the head, the attorney general's office said.

And in other news from the border...

Castro Is Out

The mass murdering freak hands power over to his mass murderding freakish brother. Cybansa deserve to be free. This disgusting tyrannical reign needs to end. Now.

Fidel Castro Resigns Cuban Presidency After Half-Century in Power

HAVANA — An ailing, 81-year-old Fidel Castro resigned as Cuba's president Tuesday after foiling U.S. attempts to topple him for nearly half a century — leaving on his own terms by clearing the way for his brother Raul to take power.

The end of Castro's rule — the longest in the world for a head of government — frees 76-year-old Raul to implement reforms he has hinted at since taking over as acting president when Fidel Castro fell ill in July 2006. U.S. President George W. Bush rejected any Castro in power, hoping for what he called a democratic transition.

Castro remains a member of parliament and is likely to be elected to the 31-member Council of State on Sunday, though he will no longer be its president. Raul Castro's wife, Vilma Espin, maintained her council seat until her death last year even though she was too sick to attend meetings for many months.

Castro also retains his powerful post as first secretary of Cuba's Communist Party. The party leadership posts generally are renewed at party congresses, the last of which was held in 1997.

Kosovo Declares Independence

What most of the news stories don't mention, however, is that Kosovo is a majority Muslim country. John Bolton thinks Kosovo declaring independence is a bad thing. I find it apropos that under George W. Bush we now have more Muslim countries at the end of his term than we did at the beginning. Lovely, isn't it?

Bush recognizes Kosovo's independence

ARUSHA, Tanzania - President Bush on Monday hailed Kosovo's bold and historic bid for statehood, saying "The Kosovars are now independent."

Kosovo's ethnic Albanian leadership announced its independence from Serbia over the weekend, and suspense gripped the province on Monday as its citizens awaited key backing from the United States and key European powers.

"It's something that I've advocated along with my government," Bush said in an interview on NBC's "Today."Kosovo had formally remained a part of Serbia even though it has been administered by the U.N. and NATO since 1999, when NATO airstrikes ended former Yugoslav leader Slobodan Milosevic's crackdown on ethnic Albanian separatists, [also known as 'Muslims' btw] which killed 10,000 people.

For a little background, here's: Fitzgerald: Independence for a Muslim Kosovo? a 2006 article at Robert Spencer's Dhimmi Watch re Kosovo and independence.

Let's See, Congress Holds Hearings on Baseball Steroid Use

While Iran continues to perfect it's nuclear bomb, two of three presidential candidates want to surrender, and China and Russia are harassing our military and spying on our defense infrastructure. Yeah, sounds like we have a bunch of liberals running the country--in Congress and the White House--who have no clue and are too afraid to actually take a stand on things that matter.

Well, thanks to the Congressional "investigation" into Roger Clemens' alleged steroids use, at least we know Jose Canseco has a really nice house, who was at Canseco's pre-game house party and the fact that it would have been a better party had it not been a day before the game so they could only drink iced tea. Thanks Congress. I had no idea.

Next, could you check on China and see what they're doing? You know, about spying on us, and sending us poisoned food and medicine, funding the Darfur genocide and testing satellite killing lasers? And maybe, if you have time, line up banking officials and ask them who they hell they've been giving sub-prime mortgages to? Oh yeah, and ask Russia about that buzzing of the Nimitz the other day. Only if you have time though, you know, in between talking to baseball players, and having more secret, back room deals writing another amnesty bill.

We better get this fixed in November, folks.

Iran testing advanced uranium centrifuges: diplomat

Iran has begun testing advanced second-generation centrifuges, defying UN Security Council demands to end its uranium enrichment activities, Western diplomats said Wednesday.

According to the diplomats, who are posted to the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Iran has begun real tests of P2 centrifuges with uranium gas with the aim of producing enriched uranium.

"The Iranians are showing their face and it is clear that they want to develop their new centrifuges," said one Western diplomat. The tests are the exact "opposite" of what the United Nations expects from Iran, said a European diplomat.

They cant be serious. Iran is doing the opposite of what the UN expects? How can that be? And wait a minute, North Korea's been lying to us, too. But Condi believed them, and how can she be wrong? Or stupid? Or pathetic?

Bhutto's Son in Symbolic Role; Husband Takes Control

Here's the latest on control of Bhutto's party and what it means for elections.

Bhutto's Son, Husband to Succeed Her

Benazir Bhutto's 19-year-old son - a student with no political experience - was named symbolic leader of her party Sunday, while her husband took effective control, extending Pakistan's most enduring political dynasty.

The major parties appeared to agree that the elections should take place as scheduled on Jan. 8 despite street violence and political turmoil triggered by the assassination of Bhutto. The Election Commission is to discuss the timing of the polls Monday.

A successful vote would bolster U.S.-backed plans to restore democracy to the nuclear-armed country as it battles rising Islamic extremism.

Rioting subsided Sunday after destruction that left at least 44 dead and caused ten of millions of dollars in damage, but bitterness remained over the government's response to the gun and suicide attack that killed Bhutto.

And this background (HT Pat S.)

19-Year-Old Bilawal Bhutto Seen Mother's Likely Successor -AFP

...The party official said that if Bilawal were chosen, the party may set up an advisory council until he finishes his studies and is available to lead the party on a full-time basis.

Analysts said the council was likely to be headed by Zardari, Fahim and the party's Punjab province president Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

"I think Asif will run the show to keep the place warm for his son Bilawal, just like Congress party leader Sonia Gandhi is doing for her young son Rahul in India," political commentator Najam Sethi told AFP.

Meanwhile Sethi predicted the PPP would demand the establishment of a new national caretaker government and a reformed election commission for holding free and fair elections, a move that would likely see them delayed.

(2) A person shall not be qualified for election as President unless he is a Muslim of not less than forty-five years of age and is qualified to be elected as member of the National Assembly.

Nondescript Youths Terrorising France Again

madviking.jpg

If France would just stop letting those Vikings in all this just might come to an end. When will they learn that people who arrive on Long Ships wearing metal helmets with horns bring nothing but trouble?

Further rioting in Paris suburb

Youths have fought running battles with French police in a second night of violence in a Paris suburb, leaving more than 60 police officers injured.

Five of the officers are said to be in a critical condition.

Rioting began in Villiers-de-Bel, on the northern edge of Paris, after two teenagers riding a motorbike died in a crash with a police car on Sunday. The youths who died were of North African origin. Similar riots rocked mainly deprived French suburbs in 2005....

Gangs of youths attacked police with petrol bombs and stones. Police say firearms were used against them, injuring several officers...

The events have brought to the surface the simmering resentment and hatred among many young people in poor French suburbs towards the police, our correspondent says.

On Sunday, about 30 cars and several buildings, including a police station, were torched in Villiers-le-Bel and neighbouring Arnouville.

In the entire article not once is the word "Muslim" used. You, too, will be amazed at exactly how many euphemisms the BBC can find in order to avoid the dreaded words, "Islamic jihad" which is exactly what this is, and what France has been dealing with despite the violence being characterized as everything but. It is also one of the reasons why Sarkozy won his election. Now let's see if he clamps down again or gets stricken with the virus known to shrink the manhood of certain national leaders. After all, he did visit President Bush. Let's just hope Shrunken Balls Syndrome isn't contagious.

China Whines Dalai Lama Visit 'Severely Undermines Ties'

And so they've decided to kill our pets, poison our children, contaminate our food, and send over dangerously faulty products, ranging from children's toys and cribs to weak steel.

Oh, wait a minute...nevermind. The Chinese actually haven't said what they're going to do to retaliate considering they're already doing everything they can to eff us up and harm or kill as many small animals and children as possible. But they're working really hard on thinking up new ways to kill us, don't you worry! Oh, and they're also real busy planning to set up Communism in outer space since it works so damn well down here in Earth.

China: Dalai Lama award undermines ties

BEIJING - China warned the United States on Thursday that its honoring of the Dalai Lama "gravely undermined" relations between the two countries, demanding Washington stop supporting the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader and take steps to repair ties. [Like what? Swallowing some Chinese lead to show some goodwill? Kill Barney with melamine? Will that do it?]

The Foreign Ministry statement was the most vociferous yet in weeks of protests against Congress' decision to award the Dalai Lama its highest civilian honor, personally bestowed by President Bush in a ceremony Wednesday.

"The move of the United States is a blatant interference with China's internal affairs which has severely hurt the feelings of the Chinese people and gravely undermined the relations between China and the United States," Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao told reporters.

Who Should Have Won the Nobel Prize

From the Daily Gut and the Wall Street Journal. Reminders both of what really matters and why the Nobel Prize Committee simply reinforced it's laughable irrelevance in a world where so many are fighting and dying to create a better world. Instead, they recognize the Goracle and a bunch of UN scientists who promote a Bogeyman for fun and profit.

For perspective about what and who really matters here is the Daily Gut's take on who really deserves a Peace Prize.

FRIDAY'S GREGALOGUE: IRENA SENDLER

The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded this morning, and I'd like to congratulate Irena Sendler. Sendler was a former history teacher who rescued 2,500 children during the Holocaust and was a top contender for the wondrous prize. Back during the early 1940's, Sendler was a Catholic social worker who had gone into the Warsaw ghetto to rescue Jewish kids who were destined either to starve there, or die in death camps. She would sneak the kids past Nazi guards, sometimes hiding them in body bags, or would provide them with false documents - inevitably getting them to Polish families for adoption, or hiding them in convents or orphanages. She also made a list of the children's real names, put them in a jar and buried them, so that some day she could dig them up and find the kids to tell them their true names. The Nazis captured her and beat the crap out of her, but she later escaped, and she went into hiding. She's now in her late 90's , living in a nursing home in Poland...

And here's a few of the many excellent suggestions from the WSJ of some people who might have been slightly more worthy than the man who complains about the weather and how the evil human race and our very existence is the problem.

Not Nobel Winners

In Olso yesterday, the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize was not awarded to the Burmese monks whose defiance against, and brutalization at the hands of, the country's military junta in recent weeks captured the attention of the Free World.

The prize was also not awarded to Morgan Tsvangirai, Arthur Mutambara and other Zimbabwe opposition leaders who were arrested and in some cases beaten by police earlier this year while protesting peacefully against dictator Robert Mugabe...

Or to Wajeha al-Huwaider and Fawzia al-Uyyouni, co-founders of the League of Demanders of Women's Right to Drive Cars in Saudi Arabia, who are waging a modest struggle with grand ambitions to secure basic rights for women in that Muslim country.

A reminder about what really matters, and what really does not. Al Gore and the Nobel Peace Prize Committee obviously fit into the "do not" category.

Tammy Radio: Claudia Rosett on Oscar Wyatt's Oil-for-Food Guilty Plea

I just spoke with Claudia Rosett who, in a Commentary for the Wall Street Journal, provides background and explanation on Texas oil tycoon Oscar Wyatt's guilty plea conspiracy to defraud the United Nations' former Oil for Food program for Iraq. Wyatt worked with and paid off Saddam Hussein for years and was part of the UN and global corruption that allowed that tyrant to grow rich and hang onto power.

It is a sordid, disgusting story of how the nihilistic greed of a few condemned so many to death but supporting the tyrannical and murderous regime of Saddam Hussein. Claudia's article gives you the background and makes it all clear. It is also a real-time lesson on how useless sanctions can be, as we make decisions about what to do with Iran.

An Oil for Food Exposé

Having stood trial for almost a month in a Manhattan federal courtroom, 83-year-old Texas tycoon Oscar S. Wyatt Jr. struck a deal Monday. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud the United Nations' former Oil for Food program for Iraq. Brushing past me on his way out of the courtroom -- he's clearly familiar with my writing on the subject -- he shot a remark: "You ought to be happy." [...]

Wyatt's trial also underscored the vitality and ingenuity with which private players can drive, fly, haggle and connive their way past embargoes -- especially those enforced by the murky, politicized and largely unaccountable bureaucracy of the U.N...

Messrs. Khudair and Yacoub described a system corrupt to the core. Their duties inside Saddam Hussein's bureaucracy consisted largely, and officially, of handling and keeping track of kickbacks. That included who had paid and how much, and via which front companies. When Saddam's regime systematized its Oil for Food kickback demands across the board in 2000, keeping track of the graft flowing into Saddam's secret coffers became a job so extensive that the marketing arm of Iraq's Ministry of Oil, known as SOMO (State Oil Marketing Organization) developed an electronic database to track the flow of the "surcharges," as they were called.

Responding to Myanmar

A post by Maynard

This article in The Economist makes some interesting notes about how the world is reacting to the brutal government of Myanmar.

...As in the past, the world’s initial response to the junta’s violence was marked by bickering and point-scoring. On September 27th, the United Nations Security Council met in response to pressure from the West for coordinated sanctions. But Russia and China argued that the unrest was an internal matter that should not be on the council’s agenda at all. America announced new sanctions against the regime, in keeping with a policy some Western countries have pursued for nearly two decades.

Shareholder-activists and ordinary consumers in the West have also done their bit to encourage a boycott. But isolation has never really been on the cards. Any gap is eagerly filled by Myanmar’s neighbors — not just China, but also India and Thailand and other members of the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN). American leaders have insisted the junta honor the 1990 election result and step aside. To this end, they have already imposed wide-ranging sanctions. The European Union has been more equivocal, and its sanctions correspondingly milder. Japan, Burma’s biggest aid donor until 1988, has been softer still...

This is sadly typical. Although it suits the political agendas of so many academics and thugs to blame the world's ills upon America and Israel, I think the record speaks for itself.

Mattel Apologizes...to China

We're all mad here

In a stunning turn of events worthy of the Mad Hatter and the ultimate example of kow-towing, Mattel has apologized to China for the rash of recalls of Chinese-made toys. While Mattel design has been responsible in part for some of the recalls, the truth of the matter is China has been sending poisoned and defective goods to the United States. Period. For Mattel to apologize to that dangerous communist pit is astounding. The Motley Fool also has a few choice words about our leap through the looking glass.

Mattel Begs for Forgiveness -- From China!

"I'm sorry you sent us lead-tainted and defective toys that we had to recall -- three times!"

You can file the above paraphrased quote in the "man bites dog" news file, but reports today that Mattel (NYSE: MAT) issued a bizarre apology to its Chinese toy manufacturers are, well, bizarre. As we all know, Mattel announced three huge recalls this summer when it was discovered that toys sourced from China failed lead paint tests or had parts that posed dangers to children...Mattel CEO Bob Eckert has made several emotional pleas in the media since these events, saying that as a father, he too is concerned about the danger his company's toys are posing. He stressed that his company would be doing all it could to remedy the situation.

Now, it seems that part of Mattel's solution is helping China save face by accepting full responsibility for the problem. A little more than a week ago, I asked if we could believe Mattel. Today, the answer is "apparently not."...

It seems to me that Mattel is extremely worried about this coming Christmas season. For whatever reason, this about-face about who's at fault positions the company as extremely vulnerable and desperate. While CEO Eckert said the company's deeds would speak louder than its words, what Mattel is saying right now sounds highly suspect -- and less than believable.

Statement From Mattel On Meeting in China

In the meantime, here are some other recalls of products from China for which, no doubt, they will want apologies from us (HT Pat S.):

Cribs Are Recalled Due to Suffocation Risk

...The cribs were manufactured in China. The CPSC said it is aware of two deaths in the cribs with older-style hardware, including a 9-month-old child and a 6-month-old child, where the "drop-side" of the crib was installed upside down...

Lead Concerns Trigger Lunch Box Recall

Tests found elevated levels of lead in three of the boxes, which were made in China and given out at health fairs and other events, said officials of the state Department of Public Health. They carried a logo saying, "Eat fruits and vegetables and be active."

Back to Basics Products Recalls Iced Tea Makers Due to Fire Hazard

Name of Product: IT400 Iced Tea Makers
Hazard: The iced tea maker’s components can fail, posing a fire hazard to consumers...
Manufactured in: China

And let's never, never forget the recall that swept back the curtain on the poison flowing into this nation from China--melamine in pet food, murdering thousands of loved pets across the country.

Perhaps Mattel will apologize for that, too. Perhaps we should boycott Mattel. Now that's an idea worth toying with.

Frontpagemag: Jimmy Carter's War Against the Jews

Over at Frontpage, David Horowitz's Terrorism Awareness Project has an excellent video providing the truth about the history of Israel, Arab terrorism and Jimmy Carter's lies about Jews and the state of Israel. It provides much needed historical background that we can all use as things continue to heat up in the Middle East.

Link to it here, but be warned, there are some graphic images of the results of terrorist violence.

The French Continue to Impress

frenchflag.jpg

When Sarkozy got elected I ended my boycott of France, which allowed me to welcome back with open arms all sorts of wonderful things I had missed for years. Now it seems I'll need to go out of my way and find even more imports to show the French some love. Heck, I might even have to visit Paris! Woo hoo! I guess I better find someone to kiss, too. :)

Iran scorns French warning of war

A warning by France's foreign minister that the world should prepare for war over Iran's nuclear programme has drawn an angry response from Iran.

Iran's foreign ministry said the remark had damaged the credibility of France, while the official Iranian news agency accused Paris of aping Washington.

On Sunday France's Bernard Kouchner said: "We have to prepare for the worst, and the worst is war."

Meanwhile, the top UN nuclear official said force should be a last resort.

At a conference of the UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in Austria, Mohamed ElBaradei said he saw no clear and present danger, and that talk of force was counter-productive.

Yeah, maybe that's because ElBaradei isn't a Jew nor is he in Israel. I suppose being Arab, in Austria, and incompetent does give one a different view of what constitutes a 'clear and present danger.'

At Least Someone Is Killing the Enemy

lebanesetroops.jpg

Lebanese troops returning home as heroes

A little while ago it was Ethiopia routing Islamist terrorists, now the Lebanese military is teaching everyone a lesson that, gee, if you actually fight back against these monsters, you'll win.

Perhaps the Lebanese could send a memo to Bush and Rice with instructions on how a war against terrorists is actually fought, and it does not involved lunch meetings.

Three cheers for the determination, persistence and bravery of the Lebanese and their army.

Lebanese troops withdraw after killing 222 Islamists

BEIRUT (AFP) — Thousands of people cheered Lebanese troops withdrawing Tuesday from a battleground in north Lebanon where the army said it had killed at least 222 extremists during a 15-week standoff.

Defence Minister Elias Murr hailed the battles that culminated Sunday at the Naher al-Bared Palestinian refugee camp as a key victory that prevented the Fatah al-Islam group from spreading throughout Lebanon.

"This victory allowed us to put an end to the worst threat ever faced by the Lebanese," Murr told a press conference. "Fatah al-Islam could have spread throughout the country like cancerous cells."

Army units were still combing the camp on Tuesday, hunting down the last remnants of the Al-Qaeda-inspired militants.

Bravo.

The Impact of Sarkozy

While quite late, my first emotional reaction to this news was a gutteral "eff you." But the truth is, the French voted in Sarkozy, a man who ran stating he was a fan of the U.S. and wanted closer ties. So, while this is late, support from a new friend should help. Time, however, will tell how serious they are aat helping to make difference.

France Offers U.S. Symbol With Iraq Trip

The French foreign minister paid an unannounced and highly symbolic visit to Baghdad on Sunday - a gesture to the American effort in Iraq after years of icy relations over the U.S.-led invasion. Bernard Kouchner said Paris wanted to "turn the page" and look to the future..."Now we are turning the page. There is a new perspective. We want to talk about the future. Democracy, integrity, sovereignty, reconciliation and stopping the killings. That's my deep aim," Kouchner said in English after meeting with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hosyhar Zebari.

Asked at a news conference if the France was now ready to help the Americans who are mired in Iraq, the top French diplomat demurred and said he was on a fact-finding mission. "We are ready to be useful, but the solution is in the Iraqis hands, not in the French hands," he said, adding "I'm not frightened of the perspective of talking to the Americans."

So much suicidal appeasement, so little time. (HT on both stories to several readers)

Doctors Give in to Muslims

Doctors and health workers have been banned from eating lunch at their desks - in case it offends their Muslim colleagues. Health chiefs believe the sight of food will upset Muslim workers when they are celebrating the religious festival Ramadan. The lunch trolley is also to be wheeled out of bounds as the 30-day fast begins next month.

Let's call God Allah

The Bishop of Breda [The Netherlands], Tiny Muskens, wants people to start calling God Allah. He says the Netherlands should look to Indonesia, where the Christian churches already pray to Allah. It is also common in the Arab world: Christian and Muslim Arabs use the words God and Allah interchangeably. Speaking on the Dutch TV programme Network on Monday evenised by Dutch churches. And that will promote rapprochement between the two religions.

The Saudis Threaten to Confiscate Bibles from Tourists

Saudi Arabia is the enemy, in so may ways. For us to continue to support this monstrous regime is unconscionable. The Saudis, which includes the so-called "royal" family and the religious elite (the cancerous Wahabbist terrorist enemy) both need to be vanquished from this earth.

Saudis might take Bibles from tourists

Despite a series of initiatives aimed at generating foreign tourism, the Saudi Arabian government continues to bar Jews and Christians from bringing items such as Bibles, crucifixes and Stars of David into the country and is threatening to confiscate them on sight, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

"A number of items are not allowed to be brought into the kingdom due to religious reasons and local regulations," declares the Web site of Saudi Arabian Airlines, the country's national carrier.

After informing would-be visitors that items such as narcotics, firearms and pornography may not be transported into the country, the Web site adds: "Items and articles belonging to religions other than Islam are also prohibited. These may include Bibles, crucifixes, statues, carvings, items with religious symbols such as the Star of David, and others."

This latest declaration is nothing compared to the Chopping Center where they chop off various body parts of those who commit petty crimes; where homosexuals are subjected to having a cement wall fall on them. if they survive, fine, if they don't too bad. And if you are caught with a Bible or having any sort of Christian meeting or ritual, you will be arrested and imprisoned.

And we're in bed with this beast. That's gonna come back to haunt us, just like our little romance with Saddam Hussein did.

China Blames Media for Revealing Poisoned Food

Yeah, that's usually what happens when the press is actually free and able to report on things a government doesn't like. Don't you hate it when that happens? I know Hillary does.

China blames foreign media for food health scares

BEIJING (Reuters) - Foreign media have fuelled unfounded fears about Chinese products, the nation's top quality official has said, as China blocked a U.S. protein powder shipment while the two countries sparred over safety worries.

The deaths of patients in Panama from mislabeled drug ingredients from China, deadly toxins in pet food ingredients and food laced with additives and antibiotics have fanned public anxiety in the United States about the safety of China's surging exports.

But foreign reports about tainted Chinese foods had presented isolated failings as the whole picture, said Li Changjiang, head of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

"Some foreign media, especially those based in the U.S., have wantonly reported on so-called unsafe Chinese products. They are turning white to black," he said, according to the China Daily on Monday.

And what's the latest in this Not True, Completely Made Up by the Foreign Media poisoned food, toothpaste and toxic toys from China story? They found one scapegoat for an entire government which is corrupt and depraved. What happened to him for being like all the rest?

China executes top food-and-drug official for corruption

Ouch.

And I wouldn't eat those buns if I were you.

Has Chavez Finally Gone Too Far?

antichavez.jpg

Anti-Chavez protesters clash with police in Caracas

Let's hope so. The Venezuelan people deserve better. But really, what did they expect--that he would be the one tyrannical Marxist on Earth to leave television alone? Mass communication is the biggest threat to fascists. Why do you think Hillary and the American left are obsessed with shutting down talk radio and "regulating" the internet? Why do you think the Democrat party want to demonize Fox News? Because they know information and a free discussion is the antidote to...them. Now we shall see if the Venezuelans will cut this maniac off at the knees before they are completely and irreversibly oppressed.

Caracas erupts in violence over Chavez TV takeover

Venezuela’s yawning political divide spilled into violence on the streets of Caracas last night as thousands of people rallied, some to protest and others to celebrate the shutdown of the country’s oldest and most watched private television station.

Radio Caracas Television, an opposition-allied station, went off the air at midnight on Sunday after President Hugo Chavez withdrew its licence, accusing the network of “coup plotting.”

But the move has fuelled accusations that Mr Chavez is moving towards an increasing authoritarian rule and quashing any dissent against his so-called “socialist revolution”.

Well, yeah, that pesky tyrannical authoritarianism is a hallmark of "socialist revolution" folks. Always has been, always will be.

radiocaracastv.jpg

Employees of Radio Caracas Television, RCTV, cry as the channel's signal is cut in Caracas, Monday, May 28, 2007...(AP Photo/Howard Yanes)

As the evening went on, protestors convened at the RCTV headquarters where the channel’s best-loved actors and presenters wept and embraced in their final moments on air. They bowed their heads in prayer and a presenter declared “Long Live Venezuela! We will return soon,” before the national anthem was played and the screen went black...

Mr Chavez’s decision to withdraw the station’s licence is set to boost his control over the national media and aid his daily battle to dominate political discussion.

But observers say it is a high-risk strategy. Support for Mr. Chavez among Venezuela’s poor majority comes mostly from his high-spending social policies rather than any great sympathy with his ideology.

Chavez, like every other depraved leftist in history, simply bought his way into power with money and entitlements for the poor. And as always, the people are shocked, just shocked, to find out that the man who had no ideas but lots of goodies to give away, suddenly wants something in return--their freedom and the future.

Now they understand the convenient Marxism they embraced comes with a price. Let's hope the Venezuelans understand they can refuse to pay and reverse their mistake.

Bank Analyst: "America's Reliance on China Has Never Been Greater"

Every day reminds us how important the election of November 2008 will be. This frightening example of 'the new world order' and globalization illustrates how dangerous it is to do business with the devil.

Stormy US-China ties seen amid trade tensions

US-China ties are headed for turbulence as combative US lawmakers threaten Beijing with punitive trade sanctions that could draw the ire of Chinese leadership.

A week of high-level talks in Washington failed to end their biggest dispute, Chinas undervalued currency, opening the prospect of a trade war between the world's richest and the most rapidly growing nation, analysts said. The Pentagon warned Friday that cash-flush China was militarizing under an opaque budget and that Beijing's ballistic nuclear missiles could now strike the United States...

Anti-China trade bills being drafted in Congress "could ultimately disrupt bilateral trade flows, and more importantly, capital inflows from China," warned Bank of America strategist Joseph Quinlan.

"Americas financial sugar daddy" is China, because it has capital "for a nation that abhors savings, worships spending and is addicted to other peoples money."

"While this is a worrisome development in and of itself, even more worrisome is that the United States has decided to play hardball with China over trade at a time when Americas financial dependence on that nation has never been greater," Quinlan said...

Washington is also concerned China is spending its mountain of foreign reserves on its military. An annual Pentagon report on Friday said China could be "planning for pre-emptive military options in advance of regional crises."
