Hey McCain: Here's the Latest Open Borders News

What are the odds McCain will discuss this lovely piece of news when he speaks at the La Raza conference in San Diego in July?

10-year-old gives birth in Idaho; Suspected illegal immigrant charged with rape

A 37-year-old man is charged with raping a 10-year-old girl who gave birth last month in Idaho.

"St. Anthony Police said they were notified of the young girl's pregnancy by medical personnel after she went in for treatment at a doctor's office," KIFI-TV reports on its website.

One day later, the ABC affiliate says the young mother delivered a 6-pound girl at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho.

KIDK-TV says Guadalupe Gutierrez-Juarez, a suspected illegal immigrant, is being held at the Fremont County Jail. He's due in court next week to face rape charges.

Execute this beast now!

Oh, I also want to know what sort of parents force a 10- year-old (that's a fourth-grader folks, 9 when raped) to carry this pregnancy to term. They, too, should be arrested for child neglict and endangerment.

The Mexican National Anthem

A post by Maynard

This being Cinco de Mayo, commemorating Mexico's historic victory over the French, it's a good time to pay our respects to the Mexican National Anthem.

Don't get me wrong; I've got no problem with the Mexican Anthem. But every now and then, we hear some goofball whining that the Star Spangled Banner is militaristic and glorifies war, and I want to tell them to go bother the Mexicans for a change of pace. I salute Mexico's readiness to defend the home country against the "enemy outlander" who would "dare to profane your ground with his step." Some of our own "sanctuary cities" could take a lesson there.

Anyway, for your multicultural edification, here is the National Anthem of Mexico, translated into English for your reading convenience:

Chorus:
Mexicans, at the cry of war,
make ready the steel and the steed,
and may the earth tremble its centers
at the resounding roar of the cannon.
And may the earth tremble its centers
at the resounding roar of the cannon.

First Stanza:
Let gird, oh Fatherland, your brow with olive
by the divine archangel of peace,
for in heaven your eternal destiny
was written by the finger of God.
But if some enemy outlander should dare
to profane your ground with his step,
think, oh beloved country, that heaven
has given you a soldier in every son.

Stanza V:
War, war without quarter to any who dare
to tarnish the country's coat of arms!
War, war! Let the national banners be soaked in waves of blood.
War, war! In the mountain, in the valley,
let the cannons thunder in horrid unison
and may the sonorous echoes resound
with cries of Union! Liberty!

The Continuing Corruption of Islamism

Terrorism is just one symptom of the increasing depravity of Islamism worldwide. If the murder of innocent people in the name of God is possible and argued for using the foundation of a certain religion, we shouldn't be too surprised to learn that the rot moves to the core. During Ramadan I brought you the truth of the matter when it comes to the abuse of children during Islam's holiest time. Last week we endured the story of Muslim beasts in Yemen and the 8-year-old "bride" travesty. Her parents facilitated the abuse of the girl, and the 28-year-old to whom she was given thought it was all fine and dandy too. But it doesn't stop there. Here is another story of the use and abuse of children in the name of Islam. If Muslims had any real concern about Islam and the image in the co-called Prophet Muhammad, they might be taken a little more seriously if they dealt with the psychopaths who murder in the name of Muhammad and in instances around the world, enslave children.

Boy flees Islamic school that makes beggars of African kids

DAKAR, Senegal - On the day he decided to run away, 9-year-old Coli awoke on a filthy mat...It was still dark as he set out for the mouth of a freeway with the other boys, a tribe of 7-, 8- and 9-year-old beggars...

There are 1.2 million Colis in the world today, children trafficked to work for the benefit of others. Those who lure them into servitude make $15 billion annually, according to the International Labor Organization.

It's big business in Senegal. In the capital of Dakar alone, at least 7,600 child beggars work the streets, according to a study released in February by the ILO, the United Nations Children's Fund and the World Bank. The children collect an average of 300 African francs a day, just 72 cents, reaping their keepers $2 million a year.

Most of the boys — 90 percent, the study found — are sent out to beg under the cover of Islam, placing the problem at the complicated intersection of greed and tradition. For among the cruelest facts of Coli's life is that he was not stolen from his family. He was brought to Dakar with their blessing to learn Islam's holy book.

In the name of religion, Coli spent two hours a day memorizing verses from the Quran and over nine hours begging to pad the pockets of the man he called his teacher...Not all Quranic boarding schools force their students to beg. But for the most part, what was once an esteemed form of education has degenerated into child trafficking. Nowadays, Quranic instructors net as many children as they can to increase their daily take.

Read the whole story and learn a little bit more of the beasts who dare to condemn others, and the world, including our president and the Pope actually argue that this sort of society should be treated as civilized and like all others. Shameful.

"Gringo" Is to Paperwork As "Wetback" Is To Hygiene

Retailer denies sign is a slur

A Casa Furniture and Bedding store in Alexandria has been advertising easy credit with a twist: “no gringo papers” necessary.

A sign outside the store at the intersection of North Beauregard and King streets reads, “Credito sin papeles de gringo.” In English, that could be translated to say “Credit without gringo papers.”

Blanca Granados, the store's assistant manager, translated the message to mean “just 'without white papers,' like Social Security or like that.”

Sure. And the term 'Wetback' is really a compliment for people who shower a lot because they're so committed to good hygiene. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Disturbing the Dead to Placate Islam

Apparently it's not enough for the living to denigrate their lives by pandering to the Islamist Death Cult. Now the English want to destroy an historic graveyard, dig up 350,000 and re-open it as a graveyard for Muslims.

The higher irony with this story--considering the goals of the Islamist Death Cult and if the civilized world doesn't stop its inaction and pandering, it's Christians and Jews who are going to need more graveyard space.

Anger over plan to dig up 350,000 bodies in historic London cemetery for Muslim burial site

It is a peaceful resting place for 350,000 souls - an historic graveyard which now serves as a nature reserve. But plans are afoot to dig up the ancient graves at Tower Hamlets Cemetery - and reopen it as a 21st century burial site.

Officially it would be known as a "multi-faith" cemetery but it is likely that it would principally answer calls for a Muslim graveyard in the largely-Asian East London borough...

The local newspaper has been bombarded with letters from historians and nature lovers declaring: "There is no way we'll allow them to dig up our ancestors."

But the Labour-controlled council's environment spokesman Abdal Ullah appeared to be in no doubt about the feasibility of the plan when he said: "To preserve the respect and dignity for everyone, I think most of the graves would have to be cleared out and we'd start afresh."

Dueling Extremes: Burqinis vs. Floozies, and a plea for Self-Imposed Propriety

Show it, honey!

A post by Maynard

I was checking out this "Opus" comic (take a look, if it's still there), and I was curious about the reference to a "burqini". What might this be? The strip names a website, www.ahiida.com. Yes, there it is, the burqini collection! Finally, a line of swimwear for Muslim women! And from Australia, no less.

A little web research traced the lineage of this apparel back to the 2005 Cronulla Beach (Australia) riots, in which racial tensions between Muslims and non-Muslims turned violent. I'm vague on the details, but the flashpoint seems to have involved a lifeguard whose swimsuit was regarded as immodest.

This incident inspired an Australian woman to invent the "burqini".

Mrs Zanetti, 38, said it had taken her a year to persuade Muslim women in Sydney that swimming "is not a sin". Now sales of the "burqini", which retails for about £65, have soared, largely through word of mouth.

Meanwhile, back in America, I noticed Susan Estrich's FoxNews editorial, "Little Girls in a Sick Society":

When my daughter was younger, I used to despair every time we went clothes shopping. The outfits in the “girls department” weren’t for girls, they were for little women, cut for little women’s bodies, designed to reveal what was not yet there, or not appropriate for showing, even if it was.

Slut-wear is the only word for it; bad enough for women, horrendous for little girls. Now, when I go to the mall, I notice whole stores devoted to selling nothing but that, aimed at the pre-teen set.

So at one extreme we have a culture so structured that it's regarded as sinful for women to swim. And at the other end, young girls are rushed into sexualized roles.

These are not ideologies that can coexist in close proximity. Clearly we're doomed to ongoing culture clashes if our "multicultural" aspirations are to mainstream and normalize both extremes.

But that's the practical aspect. It seems to me the underlying, and troubling, philosophical question is whether mankind is worthy of the freedoms we enjoy in the West. Must we be enslaved or subservient in order to be good? Without a suffocating social structure, are we doomed to descend into hedonism?

The human creature cannot survive in a state of anarchy. Either we are restrained from within (i.e., by personal conscience and moderate social conventions), or from without (i.e., by church and/or state in positions of coercive authority). I'd prefer to live in a world of the former rather than the latter. But sometimes I wonder if my dream is unrealistic.

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!

My sister...My bride!

Maureen McCormick. Hmmm...yep.

Three words as uttered by Jan which will forever have a new meaning.

Brady Bunch Star Reveals All About Lesbian Fling With TV Sister

Wholesome former THE BRADY BUNCH star MAUREEN MCCORMICK is set to reveal the beloved 70s TV series' most shocking secret in a new book - she and her on-screen sister had a lesbian fling. MCCormick's tell-all, Here's The Story, won't hit bookstores until 2008, but publishers are already buzzing about the big reveal. As well as talking candidly about her well-documented eating disorder and drug problems in the book, TV's Marcia Brady will come clean about a romance she had with co-star Eve Plumb, who played her sister Jan on the hit show. A source tells America's National Enquirer, "The most explosive comments will be how the then-blonde, blue-eyed cutie developed a crush on Eve Plumb, which led to some sexual play. "This book will certainly come as a shocker. While Maureen is not a lesbian [of course not!--T], she reveals there were some sexual hijinks going on behind the scenes. "It's bizarre because she played such a virginal character on the show."

"Asphyxia-Balling." Hey! Get Your Minds Out of the Gutter

'Bee' afraid!

Yes, that's right. And we though it was just our mothers who had mastered the "smothering you to death" technique.

Not so.

Surprise Strategy: Bees Smother Enemies

Cyprian honeybees don't smother their enemies with kindness—they just smother them to death, research now reveals.

This novel strategy has never been seen before in insects, "and probably in all animal species," apidologist Gerard Arnold at the National Center of Scientific Research in France, told LiveScience.

Cyprian honeybees (Apis mellifera cypria) do possess stingers to defend themselves. However, their archenemy, the Oriental hornet (Vespa orientalis), is protected from such attacks by their hard body armor. The predatory hornets tend to attack bee colonies en masse in the middle of the autumn, explained researcher Alexandros Papachristoforou of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.

Previous studies revealed Asian honeybees can kill hornets by completely engulfing them, making the predators die from the heat inside the ball of bees—a strategy dubbed "thermo-balling." [...]

Now scientists find Cyprian honeybees can kill hornets by suffocating them, a strategy the researchers have dubbed "asphyxia-balling."..."To kill the high-temperature-tolerant hornet, Cyprian honeybees have developed an alternate strategy to thermo-balling and stinging," Papachristoforou said. "They appear to have identified the hornets' 'Achilles heel' by asphyxiating the predator."

Yeah, so there.

Man Smuggles Monkey Onto Airplane

The man had to take off his shoes, but apparently not his hat. After all, there's no reason to think someone would hide anything under a hat. (HT Pat S.)

Airline asks, 'Is that a monkey in your ponytail?'

Passengers aboard Spirit Airlines Flight 180 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to New York's LaGuardia International Airport had an unexpected travel companion Wednesday: a small monkey.

A passenger who originally departed from Lima, Peru, and connected in Fort Lauderdale had been hiding the small monkey in his ponytail, under his hat, according to Spirit Airlines spokeswoman Alison Russell.

During the flight, the monkey crawled out of its hiding spot, forcing the owner to hold it in his hands, where the unexpected visitor was soon spotted by fellow passengers and crew members, Russell said.

The Port Authority Police Department was contacted by Spirit Airlines, and officials met the owner and the monkey at the gate.

Port Authority spokesman Pasquale DiFulco released a statement saying the monkey was never loose in the airport, as originally reported.

"We've contacted health officials, and man and monkey will be turned over to appropriate officials. He was never on the loose in the airport," DiFulco said

Alleged Child Molester Freed Because No Translator Could Be Found

For get about the fact that the 'immigrant' from Liberia attended high school and a community college in Maryland, and spoke English to detectives. Instead, because of political correctness the court released this rapist of a 7-year-old because they couldn't find an interpreter for his native Liberian language. Oh, and let's not mention the fact that Liberia was founded by freed American slaves, or that the official language of Liberia is...English.

Interpreter Trouble Ends Sex-Abuse Case

Charges against a man accused of raping and repeatedly molesting a 7-year-old girl have been dropped because the court took too long to find an interpreter fluent in his native West African language.

Montgomery County Circuit Judge Katherine D. Savage dismissed the nearly three-year-old case against Mahamu Kanneh last week, saying the delays had violated the Liberian immigrant's right to a speedy trial...

Police arrested Kanneh, of Gaithersburg, in August 2004 after witnesses told police he assaulted the girl multiple times. He spent one night in jail and was released on a $10,000 bond with the restriction that he have no contact with minors.

Prosecutors at first maintained Kanneh could understand the proceedings without translation into his native Vai, a tribal language that linguists estimate is spoken by about 100,000 people mostly in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

Prosecutors pointed out that Kanneh attended high school and community college in Montgomery and spoke to detectives in English...The first interpreter stormed out of the courtroom in tears because she found the facts of the case disturbing. A second interpreter was rejected for faulty work. A third Vai interpreter was located, but at the last minute, that person had to tend to a family emergency.

In recent weeks court officials had found a suitable interpreter, but Savage ruled that too much time had already passed...Loretta E. Knight, the court clerk responsible for finding interpreters, said her office searched exhaustively for a speaker of Vai. She said court officials contacted the Liberian Embassy and courts in all but three states.

The Washington Post reported that it identified three Vai interpreters Thursday with help from the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters, including one in Gaithersburg.

One more highlight of the depravity of political correctness and the sort of system the left has worked for decades to bring about.

The Devastating Social Impact of Massive Immigration

At City Journal, John Leo assesses Robert Putnam's 5-year research into the implication of immigration and social "diversity." The results do not paint a pretty picture, and have even frightened its author.

Bowling With Our Own
Robert Putnam’s sobering new diversity research scares its author.

Harvard political scientist Robert Putnam, author of Bowling Alone, is very nervous about releasing his new research, and understandably so. His five-year study shows that immigration and ethnic diversity have a devastating short- and medium-term influence on the social capital, fabric of associations, trust, and neighborliness that create and sustain communities. He fears that his work on the surprisingly negative effects of diversity will become part of the immigration debate, even though he finds that in the long run, people do forge new communities and new ties.

Putnam’s study reveals that immigration and diversity not only reduce social capital between ethnic groups, but also within the groups themselves. Trust, even for members of one’s own race, is lower, altruism and community cooperation rarer, friendships fewer. The problem isn’t ethnic conflict or troubled racial relations, but withdrawal and isolation. Putnam writes: “In colloquial language, people living in ethnically diverse settings appear to ‘hunker down’—that is, to pull in like a turtle.”

I address the scourge of multiculturalism in my book, The Death of Right and Wrong, and the destructive impact of what I termed 'hermetically-sealed pockets of culture.' The isolation multiculturalism demands destroys the lives of those in its midst, and obviously harms general social interaction. It is why assimilation is so important, not just for society at large, but for every individual who migrates to a new nation.

Read Leo's entire article. He, of course, is a treasure, and his ability convey the importance of the issues we face today is unparalleled.

If the Amnesty Bill Passes...

Don't worry, I have a plan for Tammy Radio. Considering no one in Washington seems to have one clue what's going on in the country when it comes to the Twenty Million Amigos, I figure we can get away with adding three more.

Don, Tammy, and Nikki

Don, Moi, et Nikki (photoshop un cadeau de Kim)

Oops, that's French. But since English isn't an important amnesty issue, I suppose any language will do. And as Prozac would note anyway, Whatever.

Speaking of amigos, here's an email from a fellow that's been making its way around the internet. It's a letter to his senator asking how to turn in his American citizenship to become "illegal." This is a reaction to the senate's amnesty bill from last year, when the 'pay back taxes' concept was still around. Now with that removed at the urging of President Bush, there's even more incentive for all of us to want to become an Undocumented Amigo.

What? They Didn't Know This Was Going to Happen?

MissCleo.jpg

Miss Cleo

I knew I was going to write this. And I know that you knew that I knew. Yeah.

Who knew? An old law shuts psychics

...Alerted to an obscure state law banning fortune-telling "for gain or lucre," the city's Department of Licenses and Inspections is closing storefront psychics, astrologers, phrenologists and tarot-card readers who charge money for their services...

Fortune-telling for profit is a third-degree misdemeanor. The law has been on the books for more than 30 years.

The owner of Psychic, a fortune-telling shop at 2041 Walnut St., sat on his steps yesterday and complained bitterly about the police action. He would not give his name or his lawyer's name. "First of all," he said, "they've got to stop the 129 murders in this city. What we do is entertainment."

He also said the police Major Crimes Unit had shut him down even though he had bought a business license from the city and paid taxes.

"Shouldn't they be cracking down on rapes and murders, not palm readers?" he asked. He also demanded to know whether tea-leaf readers in Chinatown were also being shut down. He doubted it. "They're discriminating against Gypsies," he said, although he said he was born and raised in Philadelphia.

"Look what they want to do with the fortune-tellers," the man said. "We might be coming to the end of the world."

No, actually the first sign of that will be the Clintons moving back into the White House.

UK Arrests Generic Ken Dolls Over 2005 Bombing

ken1A.jpgken2A.jpgken3A.jpg

The three arrested are so generic we can't even be sure they have penises let alone ethnicity, national origin or religion.

Once again, the male equivalent of mannequins have been arrested in related to terrorism. These strange creatures have no countries of origin, no ethnicity, and certainly no religion. Considering this leaves us on our own, once again, to name the enemy, I just have one thing to say:

When will these Commie Viking Protestant Pagans just leave us alone?!!

UK police arrest three over July 2005 bombing

LONDON (Reuters) - British police arrested three men on Thursday in connection with the July 7, 2005, suicide bomb attacks that killed 52 commuters on London's transport system.

The men were arrested by counter-terrorism police "on suspicion of the commission, preparation, or instigation of acts of terrorism" in the north of England, a police statement said.

Two were arrested at Manchester airport where they were due to fly to Pakistan. [Pakistan. How weird--ed.] The third was arrested in a house in Leeds, the northern city which was home to three of the suicide bombers.

The suspects were taken to a central London police station to be questioned. Searches were underway at five houses in the Leeds area and two premises in east London, the police said.

No one has yet been charged in connection with the attacks, in which all four bombers died.

The head of London's anti-terrorist branch said last year police were chasing several leads in Britain and abroad in an attempt to find anyone involved in the planning of the attacks.

The government has said that the four bombers were probably led by Mohammad Sidique Khan, the oldest of the group.

Two of the bombers had attended training camps in Pakistan and they were suspected of having links to militants there.

Terrorism experts say attacks are often coordinated by a handler or a planner, and it was very unlikely that a group of self-starting militants operating without any backing would be successful.

They also say the explosives believed to have been used would have required an experienced bomb-maker.

Muslim Taxi Drivers Religious Issues Apparently "Concocted"

The Minneapolis Star Tribune has an interesting story about their Somali Muslim community's thoughts on the airport taxi issue. For the past five years (interestingly, only since September 11th), Somali Muslim drivers have flatly refused to take passengers with alcohol, or blind passengers with dogs, citing both violate Islamic religious law. Apparently, that's not entirely true.

Airport taxi flap about alcohol has deeper significance

At the Starbucks coffee shop in Minneapolis' Cedar-Riverside neighborhood, a favorite Somali gathering spot, holidaymakers celebrating Eid, the end of Ramadan, filled the tables on Monday. Several taxis were parked outside...

"I was surprised and shocked when I heard it was an issue at the airport," said Faysal Omar. "Back in Somalia, there was never any problem with taking alcohol in a taxi."

Jama Dirie said, "If a driver doesn't pick up everyone, he should get his license canceled and get kicked out of the airport."

Two of the Somalis present defended the idea that Islam prohibits cabdrivers from transporting passengers with alcohol. An argument erupted. The consensus seemed to be that only a small number of Somalis object to transporting alcohol. It's a matter of personal opinion, not Islamic law, several men said...

Ahmed Samatar, a nationally recognized expert on Somali society at Macalester College, confirmed that view. "There is a general Islamic prohibition against drinking," he said, "but carrying alcohol for people in commercial enterprise has never been forbidden. There is no basis in Somali cultural practice or legal tradition for that.

"This is one of those new concoctions."It is being foisted on the Somali community by an inside or outside group," he added. "I do not know who."

Is it possible some inside/outside group, like the Muslim Brotherhood, through their proxy the MAS, are making things up to gain power and condition Americans to accept Muslim "religious" law no matter how ridiculous? The article goes into detail about the MAS connection to the airport taxi issue. They also nicely point out the connection between the MAS and the Brotherhood. Make no mistake, an issue like this is part of the culture war, as Islamists seek to transform the United States into a Muslim nation. As the paper notes:

The international Muslim Brotherhood "preaches that religion and politics cannot be separated and that governments eventually should be Islamic," according to the Tribune. U.S. members emphasize that they follow American laws, but want people here to convert to Islam so that one day a majority will support a society governed by Islamic law."

The airport commission in Minneapolis is doing its best to stand its ground on this issue. While many may miss the importance of an issue like this in the larger scheme, it's imperative Minneapolis stand by its principles of fairness and equity. And that means if yout religion demands that you discriminate, fine, do so, but not at the expense of the public.

The Case of the Disappearing Santa

santaonfire.jpg

Santa a "fire hazard"?

Santa has disappeared in Manhattan Beach, CA., a suburb of Los Angeles. City employees contacted me and said the inflatable Santa that was on top of the fire house was taken down because of one complaint (is there some sort of an anti-Santa contigent in Manhattan Beach?). I also heard from scores of residents asking me to find out what happened.

The first call I made was to the Manhattan Beach City Manager Geoff Dolan. He refused to take my call. Genius. His assistant Patricia was very nice, and when I asked her what happened to the Santa, she jokingly suggested I check milk cartons. Pretty funny, but have things gotten this bad? After all, we're not even talking about that Son of God guy. Just the Elf boss. Who, last time I checked, was not mentioned anywhere in the Bible. While Dolan wouldn't speak with me, Patricia said he suggested I contact the city's fire chief (did you feel that buck passing by you at 100 miles an hour?).

Manhattan Beach Fire Chief Dennis Groat told me he ordered the Santa removed because it was a "fire hazard." Which is slightly hard to believe considering it was the firemen themselves who set up the display. Only after I laughed and then pressed him did he admit there had also been one complaint, indicating, as Chief Groat put it, "the Santa did not match the other winter celebration lights in the city." The man couldn't even bring himself to use the word "Christmas."

Chief Groat insisted, however, it was not the complaint that led to the disappearing of Santa, it was primarily the "fire hazard" aspect. It was just a big, fat coincidence that Santa was removed after the one person complained. But not according to the city employees I spoke with. They all indicated the only reason they were given for the removal was the complaint alone.

In addition to City Manager Geoff Dolan refusing to take my calls, the mayor never responded to an email message.

Bottom line: if you're a resident of Manhattan Beach, you deserve better, less juvenile representation than what I encountered. Manhattan Beach, btw, also has a traveling Santa, who visits each neighborhood on a truck bed. If a Santa on a Roof is removed because it's called a "hazard," how long do you think the Santa on a Truck is going to last? Speak up because it seems Christmas in Manhattan Beach is devolving into some freakish "Winter Festival," sans not only the Baby Jesus, but Santa, too.

Christmas Trees Back at Sea-Tac Airport

That baby born in the manger prevails. He must know someone pretty high up.

Christmas Trees Return to SeaTac Airport

The Christmas trees are back up at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Maintenance staff worked overnight to restore the 14 plastic trees that had been removed during the weekend because of a rabbi's threat to sue over the lack of a menorah in the airport's holiday decor...The rabbi "never asked us to remove the trees; it was the port's decision based on what we knew at the time," Patricia Davis, president of the Port of Seattle commission, said in a statement late Monday.

However, port officials learned on Monday that Bogomilsky's organization would not file a lawsuit over this year's display, Davis said..."We are not going to be the instrument by which the port holds Christmas hostage," [the rabbi's lawyer] said. He said the rabbi had received "all kinds of calls and e-mails," many of them "odious," over the issue.

Well, there you go. Welcome back Christmas trees.

Fox News This Morning

I will be on Fox this morning at about 10:20am ET (7:20am PT) to discuss Sea-Tac airport taking down Christmas trees in order to avoid putting up an 8-foot menorah. A Rabbi said he would sue unless the menorah was put up, and so the airport decided to take the tress down instead.

This story was first reported as the trees were taken down simply because "member of the community complained." Now the complete story is out.

Airport's trees stoking "war on Christmas"

The departure of Christmas tree displays at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport — the Port of Seattle's response to a local rabbi's insistence that an electric menorah also be put up — is accelerating into an international spectacle in the so-called "war on Christmas."

And that is not what Rabbi Elazar Bogomilsky wanted.

"I am devastated, shocked and appalled at the decision that the Port of Seattle came to," he said Sunday. As news coverage about the airport's trees spread from CNN to ABC to the Paris-based International Herald Tribune, Bogomilsky on Sunday began to receive hateful messages from people holding him responsible for the removal of the trees.

The rabbi should have simply asked, and not threatened to sue. I have no problem at all with the idea of a menorah going up, but the bottom line is, 95 percent of Americans celebrate Christmas. This gorwing obsession with everyone everywhere needing to see their representation is the impact of narcissism and its increasing control of people's lives.

Now the rabbi should withdraw his suit and ask that the Christmas trees be put back up. Instead, he's making the talk show circuit. So in a way, he got his way--everything now is about him.

"What we have are holiday trees," [an airport representative] said. "If we are going to display symbols representing other cultures, we have to think what that means and what's respectful and what would make a good display. Maybe it would be 'Holidays of the World.'

"Or maybe it's snowmen."

Holidays of the World. Really, there is only one major holiday in December, and that would be, uh, "Snowman Day."

Unknown Orphan, Possibly Jesus, Sighted in St. Albans

Apparently the mayor and other 'frightened of the ACLU' leaders of St. Albans, West Virginia, have received a lot of feedback about their "a place for the animals" nativity scene, sans Jesus, Mary and Joseph. The response, in fact, has been so overwhelming, they decided to put the baby Jesus in the manger. Well, sort of. We're really not sure if it's the baby Jesus. According to the mayor, it's just "the baby." Oh, and Mary and Joseph are still banned. Heck, it might not even be their child. You never know with all those orphan infants hanging out in mangers.

So now the St. Albans Nativity scene consists of a bunch of animals and a little baby, who could really be anyone, because there are no parents around, forcing you to, once again, use your imagination about who that little baby might be. Hey, if it's Jesus, that 's completely up to you. St. Albans has no opinion about who the baby is, I'm sure.

Baby Jesus Back in W.V. Manger

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (AP) - Baby Jesus will be in the manger for Christmas after all, even if Mary and Joseph won't be there to coo.

Officials have put the infant back into the town's nativity scene after news reports about the omission prompted e-mails from as far away as South Korea.

"The baby is in the manger,"
Callaway said Monday. [Who that baby is, however, is anyone's guess--ed.]

Jesus will be included, but Mary and Joseph are still out. [Wow, that poor couple. Their baby is the Son of God, it's been over 2,000 years, and they still can't get a room!--ed.]

The manger scene, one of 350 light exhibits in the town's annual Festival of Lights, had included shepherds, camels, and a guiding star, but no Jesus, Mary or Joseph. The parks superintendent said Jesus was left out because of concerns about the separation of church and state. But Mayor Dick Callaway said it was more a technical issue and an oversight.

"The purpose isn't to support a particular religion," Callaway said. "It's just to show one more side to the season."

Yes, indeed. Welcome to the Christmas Spirit in St. Albans. I wonder if Mayor Calloway is due for a visit from a few ghosts anytime soon.

Another Sign Multiculturalism Is Working

Not.

Depression engulfs area's Puerto Ricans
Researchers cite poverty, isolation

Puerto Ricans in Greater Boston are in the midst of an epidemic of depression, researchers reported yesterday, with 58 percent of middle-aged women and 38 percent of middle-aged men diagnosed with the condition...Researchers and specialists in the study of health disparities attribute the high rate of depression to the stress of poverty, social isolation, chronic disease, and poor diet.

If you just read the first few paragraphs, you would think the depression is linked simply to poor diet and health. But even those issues are symptoms of the larger problem: isolation brought on the Ghetto of Multiculturalism. It took the Globe, owned by the New York Times Co., about fifteen paragraphs to get to the heart of the matter, why the Puerto Ricans themselves think this is happening--because they haven't assimilated:

The preliminary results released yesterday include more than 1,000 Puerto Ricans between the ages of 45 and 75. The participants have lived in the mainland United States for an average of 36 years, and have a median income of $10,200. And a significant proportion said that they felt they had not adapted to the dominant, English-speaking culture.

Yeah, that just about says it. They make no money because they don't leave their community and still, after 36 years, don't speak English. They're isolated and alone, become depressed, so they eat. Which makes them fat and diabetic, which makes them even more depressed. This is the legacy of the Left and it destroys people's lives.

Good News! Saudi Women Can Buy Cars

A post by Maynard

Yes, it's being reported that an automobile showroom for women has opened in Saudi Arabia. In fact, almost half of the Saudi cars belong to women.

Okay, if you want to pick nits, it's true that women aren't allowed to actually drive the cars. But this is why God made chauffeurs.

Baby Jesus Manger Now "A Place for the Animals"

And for other fun and completely ridiculous euphemisms to help you avoid the fact that Christmas actually has the word "Christ" in it for a reason, I take you to St. Albans, West Virginia. In that town, the Baby Jesus is just too controversial to be included in a town's crèche. Actually, everyone's too controversial, so, well, you'll have to use your imagination when looking at the empty "place for the animals."

Jesus a no-show at ‘nativity'

Every year, people ask the same question about the St. Albans Festival of Lights.

Why doesn't the manger scene have a baby Jesus?

"We try to explain that by law we can't do that. We have been advised by (city) council not to get into that," said David Cunningham, superintendent of St. Albans City Park.

Instead, there is a scene that looks remarkably like depictions of the night Jesus Christ was born. There's a star, a couple of sheep, some camels and a structure that could be taken for the barn where Mary and Joseph had their baby.

"You could call it a manger," he said. "We call it a place for the animals. It looks like two things coming up on the sides with a roof-like structure. What it looks like depends on your imagination. We have never had a baby Jesus or a Mary, a Joseph or wise men."[So, I guess it's just a thing that happens to be there at this time of year for no special reason and could really be anything at all and could hold anything you could imagine because it's really nothing and everything for this winter holiday of lights time here on Earth, even though people in Australia celebrate the same thing and it's not winter there, so maybe whatever the thing is that happened that we will not name or discuss around this time of year isn't related to weather but we but we don't want to think or speak about that. Absolutely not.--ed].

The Toad Less Traveled

lady_200.jpg

Lady contemplates her addiction

The private life of a cocker spaniel is, well, more sordid than we could ever have imagined. This is indeed a cautionary tale for all who will listen.

The Dog Who Loved to Suck on Toads

"We noticed Lady spending an awful lot of time down by the pond in our backyard," Laura Mirsch recalls. Lady would wander the area, disoriented and withdrawn, soporific and glassy-eyed..."Then, late one night after I'd put the dogs out, Lady wouldn't come in," Laura Mirsch says. "She finally staggered over to me from the cattails. She looked up at me, leaned her head over and opened her mouth like she was going to throw up, and out plopped this disgusting toad."

It turned out the toads were toxic -- and, if licked, the fluids on their skin provided a hallucinogenic effect.

"We couldn't keep our dog's addiction a secret any longer," Laura Mirsch says. "The neighbors all knew that Lady was a drug addict, and soon the other dogs weren't allowed to play with her."

In the end, Lady seems to have found a way to manage her problem.

"She seems to have outgrown the wild toad-obsessed years of her youth," Mirsch says, "and now only sucks on weekends."

Wow. Do you think it was her horrible childhood? Low self-esteem? Being teased all the time for being a "dog"? Or perhaps, do I dare suggest it? She just liked the feeling and there was no good reason whatsoever to be a drug addict except for the fact that she was bored, had nothing else to do, it was fun, and knew someone else would take care of her? Lady could have just said no, but she didn't. Say no that is. She did--say no to no. She said no to the wrong thing is what I'm trying to say. She said "yes" to toads, "no" to, uh, no.

Yes, you see, this is the end of the toad, er, road for those who have absolutely no reason to develop any personal responsibility or independence. Lady's childhood was fine, even idyllic. She was confident and happy. Until she put a frog on her mouth. All it takes is that one time. And then you'll be reduced to being thrilled about doing it "only" on the weekends.

Isn't that the way it always happens?

And one last thing--dogs weren't getting high until George W. Bush became president. Think about that.

British Muslim Cop Excused from Guarding Israeli Embassy in London

A post by Maynard

The Sun has reported that a British Muslim PC ("Police Constable") was excused from guarding the Israeli Embassy after he refused to serve on "moral grounds" due to Israel's battle with Hezbollah in Lebanon. When news of the incident broke, an inquiry was launched. Most people understand that the police should be discharging their racists rather than assigning them to tasks in which they won't have to deal with the object of their racism.

Security at the Israeli Embassy is always a matter of concern. In 1994, a Palestinian car bomb injured 19 people and damaged buildings at the site.
