Contemplating Racial IQ

Wow, it seems that James Watson, the Nobel-Prize winning discoverer of DNA, really put his foot in it when he theorized that human intellectual capacity varies with race. His lectures were halted and there was even a suggestion that he be prosecuted:

Anti-racism campaigners called for Dr Watson's remarks to be looked at in the context of racial hatred laws. A spokesman for the 1990 Trust, a black human rights group, said: "It is astonishing that a man of such distinction should make comments that seem to perpetuate racism in this way. It amounts to fuelling bigotry and we would like it to be looked at for grounds of legal complaint."

Watson is now in full apology mode.

I'm going to mostly skip over the controversial topic itself and touch on our reactions. This flap says a lot about the state of the Western world and the political correctness that drives us.

From a Darwinist standpoint, Watson's comments are perfectly logical:

"There is no firm reason to anticipate that the intellectual capacities of peoples geographically separated in their evolution should prove to have evolved identically," he writes. "Our wanting to reserve equal powers of reason as some universal heritage of humanity will not be enough to make it so."

The concept of all men being created equal is fundamentally religious. It's not a notion we apply to the animal kingdom. We are not shunned for observing that tortoise-shell cats are willful, or suggesting a boy cat will make a better pet than a girl cat. If humans are just another animal, then why should we be any different?

It's obvious that the instantaneous crusade against Watson is dogmatic rather than reasoned. And it's ironic that the dogma of political correctness is often promoted by the same ideologues that mock the dogma of religion.

As far as intelligence itself goes...well, I'm not quite sure exactly what it is. Am I (Maynard) smart? I know I can be pretty smart in some ways and unbelievably stupid in others (trust me on this). There are many flavors of intelligence, and they only become meaningful in a greater context. A lot of my personal efforts go to putting myself in a place where my strengths are valuable and my weaknesses are irrelevant. I think we've all got a niche where we can be useful...if only we're willing to seek it.

The point is that intellect is not valuable in itself. "Smart" people can be ineffective or even evil. Adolf Hitler was a genius, and we know how he applied his intellect.

So raw intellect is just another tool, one of many, to be applied or mis-applied or discarded. To the extent that it's inherited (and that's the old "nature versus nurture" argument)...well, maybe inherited intellect is something like inherited wealth. Is it good to be born to wealth? You would think so, but we find no shortage of counterexamples. The pathetic antics of the rich and famous make it clear enough that wealth isn't all it's cracked up to be.

The backlash against Watson merely illuminates our modern cultural obsession with race. Am I supposed to be pleased with Watson's ideas because I'm a person of paleness, and thus presumed to be intellectually advantaged? Why can't I just think of myself as an individual? And I know there are individuals of all races who are a lot smarter than I am. I'm grateful to live in a world where smart people have figured out a lot of stuff, and their discoveries have been passed along, and now I benefit from them. I'm lucky! We're all lucky! Does the skin pigmentation of the people who have given me so much really matter? Do I get points based on the number of explorers and inventors who are "my people"?

Back in the bad old days, Galileo offended the dogma of the Church when he advanced his theory of heliocentrism. He was forced to recant this heresy, and spent his latter years under house arrest on orders of the Inquisition. We tell ourselves we've passed beyond the era of dogma into an enlightened age. But this isn't entirely so.

To be fair, it's important to remember that the idea Watson expressed could be picked up by old-style racists. This is a very legitimate concern. But are we doomed to be caught between the today's racial obsessions and yesterday's racial obsessions? Does this crazy ideological battle justify silencing valid inquiry?

An analogous question was addressed a few years ago in the movie Gattaca. This postulated a future society in which the "clean gene" people were at the top of the heap. It tells the tale of an ordinary man who aspired to join the ranks of the genetically pure. It promotes the notion that the spirit can rise above the flesh. Maybe it's Hollywood silliness, but I applaud the concept. If we're going to get dogmatic, then this is the dogma I prefer.

Maynard is right about one thing this controversy has indeed brought to our attention: how political correctness keeps us from addressing, and therefore vanquishing, questions centered around complexion and intellect. It very well could be argued that it is the racism of the Western World (and the need for certain Victimologists of Color) who are invested in the 'question' never being excised. We can only do that by seriously contemplating, as an example, Watson's assertion.

We then have these issues to address: Are people with a pale complexion actually 'better and smarter' than those with darker ones, or did the empire building of ancient Greece and Rome, and their subsequent consuming of the Middle East and Africa, begin a pattern of events that kept certain people from reaching their full potential? Are Jews smarter than everyone else (as their contributions to society seem to indicate) or is it their millennia-old commitment to eduction the reason such a small minority of people have accomplished so much?

Does Africa indeed still struggle, not only because of ancient ravages, but the world's colonizing and oppression of its people for the past several hundred years? Educating the "natives" certainly was not part of the English or Spanish or Dutch Master Plan. And while under the boot of 'conquerers' indigenous people are going to be a bit more focused on survival than on an education in the arts and science, whatever its cultural foundation.

The same could be argued for the Middle East, where its own commitment to broader, more expansive education was overwhelmed by religious fervor, which allowed Muslim nations to compete militarily with the Western, Christian, world. A population (especially women) seriously educated always poses a threat to the existing power structure, undermining tyranny and despotism. Today's existing tyrants in the Middle East and Africa, while their complexions mostly match those oppressed, are also deeply invested in the maintaining the ignorant status quo which served European colonizers so well.

We are, though, not allowed to have this discussion because it is too politically incorrect. Why? because we must start with the premise that there are undeniable differences in the world.

And one last point--I find it fascinating the world seems just fine with embracing Holocaust-denying Jew-hater Ahmadinejad, with even American institutions of the mind that his 'ideas', which contradict known fact, are worth debating. Yet, when a world-renowned scientist simply brings up the obvious disparity on accomplishments via continents and the issue of race, it causes a worldwide uproar of shock and unqualified rejection. One more bit of evidence of how ignorance and the investment in the status quo by the the world's Elite (Jew-hating and maintaining the 'question' of African/black potential) still menacingly prevails.

Democrats Descend into Soros Gestapo Sewer

The purely fascist tactic of ritual defamation, condemning dissent, and attempts to silence voices that do not pledge allegiance to the Left, has now consumed local and federal Democrat lawmakers.

In one of the most remarkable and shameless displays of Thought Police tactics, Democrats now carry the water for the Soros Gestapos which exist to squelch public discussion of which they do not approve or does not confirm to their nihilistic leftist agenda.

Make no mistake--this is one of many volleys launched in an effort to revive the necessary and ultimate leftist grab for power--a return of the so-called Fairness Doctrine, which would kill the freedom of market and listener driven talk radio.

San Francisco supervisors condemn Savage

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors today condemned nationally syndicated radio talk-show host Michael Savage, whose program originates in city by the bay, for "hate speech." It was the board's second attempt at a resolution to condemn Savage for his criticism of illegal aliens in the U.S..."This is a dry run against free speech in America by the Islamists and the illegal aliens who are now becoming one and the same," said Savage in August. "It's the same organizational structure. … I am the target of this dry run. They want to see how far they can get in silencing a voice of freedom in the United States of America. They want to see which, if any, governmental agencies will stop them."

"Guess what they learned so far?" he continued. "That not only will no governmental agency stop them in their attempts to kill free speech, they will aid them in their attempts to kill free speech. We have lost our freedoms already.

And this absurdity. Apparently the Democrats in the Senate have nothing better to do than jump into the Thought Police sewer:

Conservative Radio Host Rush Limbaugh in Sights of Antiwar Democrats on Capitol Hill

Democrats took to the Senate floor Monday to demand an apology from Limbaugh for supposedly saying that troops who oppose the Iraq war are "phony soldiers." Limbaugh has vehemently denied a wholesale attack on antiwar servicemen and women.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced that Democratic leaders have drafted a letter to Mark Mays, president of Clear Channel, the parent company of Limbaugh's broadcast, calling on the network "to publicly repudiate these comments that call into question ('antiwar soldiers') service and sacrifice, and ask Mr. Limbaugh to apologize for his comments."

Limbaugh said Monday that efforts by Reid and others to condemn him are merely an effort to divert attention from Democratic failures to change the course of the Iraq war. He added that his critics know they are misrepresenting his comments but are charging forward anyway.

"This is not just the anatomy of a smear. There's much more going on with this than just smearing me. There is an attempt, I think, as they have done throughout my career, to discredit me," Limbaugh said on his radio show.

Make no mistake, I am no fan of Savage, and I consider Limbaugh, as many do, a water-carrier for President Bush, but this is obviously wrong on a multitude of levels. On one hand you have government attempting to intimidate public voices into silence because they do not like a political message. Hugo Chavez is engaging in this very activity in Venezuela with the shutting down of televisions stations he does not like to silence their independent message.

Principles and values are simply slogans when applied only when convenient, or to situations with which we agree.

Nihilistic leftists like George Soros and those who run his sewerline Media Matters know their message anti-American message of socialistic hopelessness will never survive in America if we have avenues where the issues can be freely discussed, out from under their dead hand.

This is nothing new, however. My first book, The New Thought Police, illustrated this tactic and warned of the American left's incresing reliance on fascist theory and application.

See the attacks on Savage, O'Reilly and Limbaugh for what they are--frantic fascist efforts to demonize those who cannot be intimidated into silence. It is an effort by a bunch of Malignant Narcissists to shut down open public discourse before the 2008 presidential election.

Do not let it happen. Let your senators and congressional members know you reject this untoward and dirty descent into intimidation and defamation of opinion journalists by government figures. This absurdity must stop.

CAIR Threatens the YAF

You've heard a lot from me about the Young America's Foundation, a group that promotes authentic conservative ideas and with which I am proudly associated. They are now being threatened by the rabid, freakish unindicted co-conspirator group CAIR, an Hamas spin-off, if they allow an event they're planning with Robert Spencer to proceed.

CAIR is funded by Saudi Arabia, the nation Bush recently announced we're planning on giving $20 billions dollars to in aid. I suppose when a nation a obscenely rich as Saudi Arabia doesn't need to spend $20 billion on its military, that leaves more cash to send over the CAIR.

LGF has the story, with a link back to Hot Air. I am especially impressed with YAF's response.

“CAIR can go to Hell and they can take their 72 virgins with them.”

Knowing the good people at YAF, I'm not surprised they have no intention of genuflecting in front of these rabid dogs who rely on intimidation and bullying to keep decent people from exposing the truth about Radical Islam. The only way to stop this sort of Lawyered-Up Domestic Terrorism is to look it in the face and spit.

An din one of th emore nauseating elements of this ricidulous situation, Charles at LGF is noting the CAIR lawyer who wrote the threatening letter to the YAF is none of the than the counsel for the Democratic National Committee, i.e. George Soros and Howard Dean.

I don't now how much clearer or more obvious God needs to make out current situation.

Scandal at the New York Times?

The New York Post is reporting a horrendous scandal at the New York Times. The claim is that a NYT editor got drunk at an office party and was heard to mutter the f-word. No, not that f-word; that one is perfectly acceptable in enlightened society these days. This is the f-word that gets you incarcerated at a re-education camp, after which you deliver a tearful public apology and pledge to spend the remainder of your life making amends. The word Ann Coulter hurled at Mr. Silky Pony. Its use would represent an unthinkable infraction at an elite institution such as the Times. An investigation was launched, and fresh copies of the anti-harassment guidelines were distributed to all employees.

This reminds me of a friend who works in the Los Angeles Library system. She told me the employees were required initial the various clauses of the non-discrimination policies, thus acknowledging they had been informed of the many things they weren't allowed to talk about.

I don't want to defend or justify rude or boorish behavior, which is of course disgusting. But does the disease justify the cure? We seem to have reverted to the excesses of McCarthyism.

Do you remember when Joe McCarthy decided we should fight Communism by making people sign loyalty oaths? Soon everyone was busily investigating everyone else's past for hints of disloyal behavior. For example, maybe you wrote a book report on Tolstoy when you were in high school, in which case you were probably a Russian sympathizer. The atmosphere became something of a feeding frenzy, and for a while McCarthy was untouchable. But at the end of the day, he hadn't uncovered any Commies; all he had done was make a noble cause look mean and ridiculous. As a practical matter, McCarthy did more to aid and abet the traitors than he did to stymie them.

I hope I live long enough to see today's politically correct elites join Joe McCarthy in failure and disgrace. But I'm not holding my breath.

"Ho"=Fired, "Ching-Chong"=New Show, Tens of $$Millions

Such a strange way for the concerned-about-the tenor-of-our-cultural-public-debate left to act. On one hand, the debate must, must be "cleaned up" (of all that nasty conservative talk of course). An on the other, paranoid, racists and Hate-America-First rhetoric is just fine. And not even for talk radio, but for national broadcast television!

It looks like Rosie O'Donnell's MalNar blather is so well liked by the Establishment Media, they just can't wait to give her another show. All her own. To "discuss the issues."

New show on the horizon for Rosie?

...My needs for the future just didn't dovetail with what ABC was able to offer me," O'Donnell said in a statement. On air she told viewers: "They wanted three years, I wanted one. … It just didn't work."

She didn't elaborate, but sources among the syndicators who would distribute such a show say O'Donnell is considering a plan to revive her solo daytime gig, probably in fall 2008...

As part of her View deal, ABC's Buena Vista is said to have first rights to negotiate for a solo O'Donnell show. But Warner Bros.' TelePictures, which was behind her previous show, is keenly interested, says a top executive who asked for anonymity because of sensitive negotiations.

O'Donnell promised to return as a guest host. She also might return as a guest on FX's Nip/Tuck, though the cable network dismissed rumors she'd star in a spinoff. It's expected a new talk show would focus on issues rather than the celebrities who dominated her 1996-2002 run.

Aren't you excited with how our television airwaves are being used? And here the left complains about how "unfair" and "offensive" talk radio is. Perhaps the so-called Fairness Doctrine, in its efforts to protect us fragile average Americans from being offended or disgusted, should also be applied to opinion-based television talk shows.

But hey, thank goodness Don Imus is gone (remember him?). Apparently, the left thinks his departure alone is enough to offset both the racism, sexism and homophobia in rap and hip-hop, and O'Donnell's generally mean, ignorant, paranoid, intolerant, hate-based anti-American Truther rants.

•She compared fundamentalist Christians to Islamic extremists: "Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America where we have a separation of church and state."

•Commenting about how Danny DeVito's visit to the show, when he was acting drunk, attracted attention: "The fact is that it's news all over the world. That you know, you can imagine in China it's like: 'Ching chong, ching chong. Danny DeVito, ching chong, chong, chong, chong. Drunk. The View. Ching chong.' "

•Suggested the British intentionally caused the crisis with Iran: "There were 15 British sailors and marines who apparently went into Iranian waters, and they were seized by the Iranians. And I have one thing to say, Gulf of Tonkin. Google it."

•Claimed that the World Trade Center's Building 7 was brought down by explosives on 9/11: "I do believe that it is the first time in history that fire has ever melted steel. I do believe that it defies physics for the World Trade Center Tower 7 … which collapsed in on itself. It is impossible for a building to fall the way it fell without explosives being involved. … World Trade 1 and 2 got hit by planes; seven, miraculously, the first time in history, steel was melted by fire."

So, "nappy-headed ho" gets you fired if you're a white male radio talk show host, but "ching-chong, ching-chong," among scores of other offensive, bizarre comments gets you a three-year, 30-million dollar offer to stay with a show (which you turn down), and offers of your own issues-based show. Only if you're a fat, paranoid, leftist dyke, though.

Uh, double-standard anyone? And radio talk show hosts are supposed to be running scared. I think not.

The Soros Gestapo

Funny how my show sounded like NPR for a bout 15 minutes yesterday :) On yesterday's Tammy Radio, I offered up what hypocrites like Sharpton, Jackson and Hillary Clinton want talk radio to be--irrelevant, tranquilizing, and vapid. Why? Because they know, especially at a time when conservatives and classical liberals have no real leadership, talk radio fills that void, discusses and exposes the enemies among us, and provides a forum for the average person to stay informed and active. A free discussion amongst the people is kryptonite to leftists. They cannot survive the distribution of ideas and the discussion of facts, and they know it.

Leftists have always liked Enemies Lists, and today's fascists are no different. For those of you wondering who else is on the Soros Gestapo Talk Radio Hit List, all you need to do is go to one of his many puppet entities Media Matters.

It's not just Imus

...But as Media Matters for America has extensively documented, bigotry and hate speech targeting, among other characteristics, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and ethnicity continue to permeate the airwaves through personalities such as Glenn Beck, Neal Boortz, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Michael Savage, Michael Smerconish, and John Gibson.

In addition to Media Matters, the Soros Industrial Complex includes the Center for American Progress, Moveon.org, Accuracy in Media, the Open Society Institute, and now, of course, the DNC. (Please see Discover the Networks extensive expose on Soros and his network of leftists foundations, think tanks and actions groups. It's an invaluable resource.). By denying Soros' direct involvement in MM, David Brock, who runs that brown-shirt cadre for the Soros gang, acknowledges how bad it looks for one man to be controlling and funding most of the leftist agenda.

Notice, however, Brock's amateurish obfuscation of this 'media matter'--the claim is that MM hasn't received money from George Soros himself. Perhaps that's the case, yet not quite the point. To receive Soros support does not require a check from the man himself. His various entities, foundations, think tanks and compatriots allow this new Wizard of Oz to fund an entity yet provide his Gestapos with some sort of deniability that there is one man behind the leftist curtain spending money furiously to undermine our democratic system.

The evidence is quite clear that Media Matters, the entity now leading the charge to silence talk radio, exists because of support from Soros compatriots and funded entities. This became undeniable years ago, to the point where MM itself stopped denying it receives indirect funding from Soros entities, yet continues the misleading claim that it doesn't receive money directly from Soros himself.

Ah yes, with moral arbiters like Soros and Brock and Al "Tawana Brawley" Sharpton and Jessie "Hymie Town" Jackson what would all us empty-headed rubes do?

Kinky on Cowards

Not only is the attack on Imus a small part of a larger move by the Soros Gestapo to silence talk radio as quickly as possible before the 2008 primaries and election, it is a reflection of the rank hypocrisy of the men who make money hand over fist objectifying and denigrating women (of all colors) with so-called rap or hip-hop, also known as "urban music."

Imus is a straw man in this culture war; a war with an agenda to silence those who are unafraid of the left, who cannot be intimidated into pledging allegiance to the Soros/Clinton/Sharpton agenda of victimhood, hopelessness and malevolence.

In a column for the New York Post, Kinky Friedman has one of the most salient assessments of the situation so far, comparing Imus to those who attack him, and what his firing says of the people who advocated for it. Here's a snippet, but obviously, read the whole thing.

...There's no excusing Imus' recent ridiculous remark, but there's something not kosher in America when one guy gets a Grammy and one gets fired for the same line...

Political correctness, a term first used by Joseph Stalin, has trivialized, sanitized and homogenized America, transforming us into a nation of chain establishments and chain people.

Take heart, Imus. You're merely joining a long and legendary laundry list of individuals who were summarily sacrificed in the name of society's sanctimonious soul: Socrates, Jesus, Galileo, Joan of Arc, Mozart and Mark Twain, who was decried as a racist until the day he died for using the N-word rather prolifically in "Huckleberry Finn."...

Speaking of which, there will always be plenty of Al Sharptons and Jesse Jacksons around. There will be plenty of cowardly executives, plenty of fair-weather friends, and plenty of Jehovah's Bystanders, people who believe in God but just don't want to get involved. In this crowd, it could be argued that we need a Don Imus just to wake us up once in a while.

Sweden First Western Nation to Censor Mohammad Cartoons

In an absolutely outrageous decision for any democratic Western country, the government of Sweden has shut down a website that was showing the Mohammad cartoons.

Sweden views itself, as leftist governments usually do, as progressive, tolerant, and flame-holders for personal liberty. With this act, they expose the ultimate nature of socialism and leftists--the willingness to smash freedom of expression and personal liberty in the name of 'security.'

While Sweden is the first Western nation to officially censor (Islamic nations have done so, but fascism and Islamic theocracies go hand in hand), let us hope it is the last. But this does not bode well when it comes to whether or not the West has the wherewithall to stand up for itself and its values. What could crush western European values now is the same thing that crushed it in the first half of the last century--when leftist socialism infects government, fascism is not far behind. Fascist control of media is the first act, always in the name of 'safety' or 'for the best of everyone,' or to ostensibly maintain 'social control.'

Swedes everywhere should be appalled and up in arms. So far, though, we've heard virtually nothing from the people of that 'progressive' country as it essentially abandons its neighbors Denmark and Norway, and the basic tenets and values that keep the Western world free.

The values of freedom are lovely and nice when one does not have to defend them.When we are challenged is when we find out who we really are. The Germans learned what was at their core in the last century. Sweden, are you to be the first Western nation in the 21st century to surrender to fascism?

Orwell Watch: Britain to Monitor Every Car Journey

Beginning in 2006 (just a week away) Britain has announced that the movement of every single vehicle in the entire country will be monitored, recorded and stored in a database.

As usual, they argue that this is a 'crime detection, prevention' measure, allowing them to track gangs and suspected terrorists. Well, okay then--in order to track them you need to know who it is you're looking for supposedly including license plate numbers, so why not limit your surveillance to those cars? Why every single car in the entire country?

Because the intention, of course, is not to only 'fight crime' but to condition every citizen to accepting the government watching and recording their every movement. The moment this is accepted under any guise, then personal freedom is eradicated. And after insisting this is all about catching the Bad Guys, they admit it will also determine if your tags are up-to-date, your insurance status and other taxable requirements of drivers. In other words, they want to track everyone so they can tax you. Yes, the English will now be paying their government to spy on them--not just those with al-Qaida connections, not just those with criminal histories--every single individual citizen.

Via the Belfast Telegraph:

Britain is to become the first country in the world where the movements of all vehicles on the roads are recorded. A new national surveillance system will hold the records for at least two years.

Using a network of cameras that can automatically read every passing number plate, the plan is to build a huge database of vehicle movements so that the police and security services can analyse any journey a driver has made over several years...

The new national surveillance network for tracking car journeys, which has taken more than 25 years to develop, is only the beginning of plans to monitor the movements of all British citizens. The Home Office Scientific Development Branch in Hertfordshire is already working on ways of automatically recognising human faces by computer, which many people would see as truly introducing the prospect of Orwellian street surveillance, where our every move is recorded and stored by machines.

This is desperately troubling. The argument is made that in tests this massive intrusion allows the police to do their job better. That may in fact be true, but that's not a good enough reason. When it comes to the war in Iraq, we have argued to the world that for too long we sacrificed justice for 'stability.' Indeed, dictatorships provide 'stability,' through intimidation, threat and murder. We do not promise perfection with democracy, it offers instead freedom with the Rule of Law to deal with the inevitable problems that arise with that freedom.

Here, English lawmakers are arguing that there will be more stability with the government monitoring the citizens' every move. Yes, indeed, just as under Saddam Hussein there was "peace" but no justice.

And if you think it can't happen here, it already is. Oregon and California are considering taxing people by how many miles they drive. And for some reason they would need to use a GPS system to connect with your car to be able to do that. Nevermind the fact that where you go and when would also be recorded. Nah, nevermind that, or as Officer Barbrady would say, "Nevermind, nothing here folks, look away, go away..."

In the meantime, it might not be a bad idea to re-read your copy (or read for the first time!) George Orwell's classic anti-Stalinist warning about socialist and totalitarian societies in "1984."

800 Lawyers ready to defend christmas

For those of us who are sick and tired of the nihilistic left working to erase Christmas from our culture, the Alliance Defense Fund has come to the rescue.

Their Third Annual Christmas Project declares, "Merry Christmas, it's okay to say it." Check out their project, and get armed with the information you need to combat the attempts we will see again this year to ban celebrating Christmas from school, the workplace and the public square. Getting prepared to confront the left instead of turning away from these assaults is a perfect example of the New American Revolution.

From the ADF announcement:

The Alliance Defense Fund announced today it has more than 800 attorneys available nationwide to combat any improper attempts to censor the celebration of Christmas in schools and on public property.

"An overwhelming majority of Americans of all faiths agree that we should celebrate Christmas," said ADF President Alan Sears. "This is a time for goodness, giving, and hope--not a time for fear, intimidation, and the disinformation of agenda-driven, anti-Christmas legal entities."

According to recent polls,

* 96 percent of Americans celebrate Christmas (Fox News/Opinion Dynamics, 2003).
* 90 percent of Americans recognize Christmas as the birthday of Jesus Christ (Gallup, 2000).
* 88 percent of Americans say it is okay for people to wish others "Merry Christmas" and the majority of Americans are more likely to wish someone they just met "Merry Christmas" rather than "Happy Holidays" (CNN/USA Today/Gallup, 2004).
* 87 percent of Americans believe nativity scenes should be allowed on public property (Fox News/Opinion Dynamics, 2003).

And if you're not sure how the scourge of political correctness affects Christmas, it's already started in England.

Now that guns are banned, Great Britain worries about sharp objects

And knives are apparently next on the to-be-banned list making the lone swordmaker in Scotland very nervous about his future.

In other news, now that guns and knives have been banished, a gun control group in England (also known as Leftists obsessed with disarming the law-abiding public) has changed its name to "The Campaign to Prevent Hard Object Violence" and have pledged to ban the scourges of forks, baseball bats, rolling pins, crown molding, sauce pans, candlesticks, vases, chairs, tire irons, golf clubs, lamps, BBQ skewers, firewood pokers, firewood, chainsaws, sticks and stones, dog bones, big dog chewies, hammers, flashlights, and frozen legs of lamb.

The Great Unwashed Masses will, however, be allowed to handle Jello. But only plain, none of that imbedded fruit, especially fruit with seeds, which could be used to harm someone. There does, however, seem to be a growing resistance to the ban on "sharp cheddar cheese." A meeting to debate the issue is scheduled next week.

One Dudley (UK) worker, responding to the order to remove little toy pigs from their desk and any other "pig imagery" because a Muslim employee was offended, complained it was "political correctness gone barmy."

Fortunately, the oink prevails as the Dudley Council declared they will not accept "extreme forms of political correctness". Hooray!

While we all still suffer under the horrible barmyness of PC, stories like this should give you hope to keep up the fight, whether you oink or not.

UPDATE:

Like every virus, PC spreads. There is now a report that some banks in England are banning "piggy banks" because they may offend Muslims. It's now being reported that certain banks in England are banning piggy banks because they "may" offend Muslims. Nolonger will the classic piggy bank be given to children to start their savings, and the will be banned from bank advertising. (HT LGF)
