A voter in Colorado finds his voter registration form in trash

This isn't a published story but was posted by a friend on a forum group I created on my personal Facebook account to discuss politics. Here is what happened in his own words:

“So I went to the DMV last week to get a duplicate title and there were some fine fellows outside there allowing people to register to vote; I needed a mail-in ballot because I may not be home for the election so thought, hey, good for me. I filled it out, marked myself down as Independent and went in to take care of my DMV business. When I came outside I noticed my registration and several others in the trash. I pulled them out and upon a quick glance, I noticed a couple of them were either Republican or Independent. So I handed them to one of the guys and said, um, I guess you dropped these? The guy looked at me red faced and snatched them from me. I went home and downloaded the form and mailed it in later that day being fairly confident that mine was going to be filed again in the round cylinder. Moral of the story and lesson learned? Don't trust people trying to get people mail-in ballots or registered to vote; drop it into the locked mailbox or at the post office directly.”
