At Army Ranger School, admiration – and frustration – in assessment of women

“It’s an equal opportunity project,” shrieked Elaine Donnelly of the Center for Military Readiness. Her demeaning characterization of the active duty military service of these young women reveals much about Donnelly none of it very favorable. The reason for her scorn is their desire to graduate from the Army Ranger School and be awarded the coveted Ranger Tab. I am more than confident these soldiers don’t want any special treatment just fair treatment. Pass or fail these young women knew they would be subjected to public ridicule and yet they pressed on and did it anyway. That is called demonstrated personal courage which should be lauded and applauded. So I say to these young women I know you will “drive on” and leave nothing on the field and I am proud of you.
