CNN Website Privacy Statement

This is not a 'news' story, but a 'notice' popped when I hit the link from Drudge about the missing airliner just now. They will legally collect every single thing about you. The sections about Cookies and Tracking are 'interesting' to say to the least. Big Brother Is Watching.

This section is for comments from tammybruce.com's community of registered readers. Please don't assume that Tammy agrees with or endorses any particular comment just because she lets it stand.

Just as a follow up to the ‘opting out’ of advertising, here’s the website you go to do so. Where it says ‘You have a choice’, in the upper right, you’ll see in orange the words, “opt out”. That will take you to another page where an auto run script will examine your browser to see who has planted ‘tracking cookies’ on your system. As for me, I selected all, but still several companies persisted. You have to go directly to them to delete their cookies. This process worked for me, but as you navigate the web, cookies will continue to get planted, so I’ve run this often with zero issues or problems. This is one of those ‘did you know you could do this’ type of information, but it’s, of course, your own decision to try it, k?
