Crew of HMS Bounty abandons ship amid Hurricane Sandy

This is not the original HMS Bounty but named after the original. This is terrible. Hopefully the USCG can rescue all the crew in a timely manner.

You can youtube the dramatic rescue of the crew by the United States Coast Guard. Unsung heros every day.

Site reports, “still one crew member missing and one crew member that did not make it.” Sad — praying for those families.

If you ever get a chance to tour a replica ship, it’s a must see. Took kids to HMS Endeavor (Capt. Cook’s ship) and the Amistad…maybe more (old brain). See history to remember it.

I took a tour of the HMS Bounty when I was a kid, back in 1974. It was anchored in St Pete, FL for many years. Very amazing. The 1962 movie is one of my favorites. The missing captain is from St Pete.
