Eichmann confesses; he didn’t do it

Eichmann's prison diary is going up for aution on Feb. 10.

“…He emphatically scribbles an imaginary discussion between his alias “Ricardo Klement” and himself: “…Klement spoke to Eichmann 'was it necessary, the killing…where is the reward. Why did you participate?’…Orders! Orders! Orders! You crossed the line of awareness…awakening demonic forces…murder…state sanctioned by the needs and wants of the government…”…”

Nice alias. Klement means, 'merciful'. I'm guessing that the Church gave that to him (ie, Pope Clement), likely without knowing who he was. Still then, why Ricardo. Is there something that makes you pick an alias like Carlos Danger.

Pope Clement was the fourth Pope 2000 years ago. If you check the Vatican archives, after WW2 there was a rogue Bishop who either knew what he was doing or didn’t, and arranged passports for several Germans. But “The Catholic Church” was NOT directly involved. Like so many lies said about the Jews, the church often is maligned without proof.

Yes, there were a couple of Catholic Priests who helped some Nazis escape and you’re correct that the Roman Catholic Church did not do that. The main help for escaping Nazis via the ratlines were the CIA and the International Red Cross.

The last Pope Clement was Clement VII, 500 years ago. He was not a bad Pope but he served when others acted boldly. Martin Luther and the Reformation had just started, France conquered, ravaged Rome (considered the last sack of Rome’s glory) and placed the Pope in prison, and Henry VIII had his intrigue and established the Church of England. That may be why there hasn’t been another Pope Clement since.
