Facebook becomes Big Brother, closes pro-gun accounts

Look for the left to use the Overton Window — asking for HUGE anti-gun laws and pretending to “give in” on some points. We MUST beware of thinking we “won” because they do not enact ALL the provisions, leaving us with “some” 2nd Amendment rights intact.

What has no doubt happened is that the liberal gestapos have once again resorted to their tactic of submitting relentless complaints that the “pro-gun” posts and accounts are “inappropriate” and “threatening” and Facebook has a canned kneejerk response of suspension until proven innocent. Facebook is no better or worse than other sites or social media at this practice so I think they claims of Facebook being out to suppress free expression are the results of panic and hysteria and avoids the true problem of the left self-righteously trying to shut down the First Amendment expression of opposing views.

Dennis, thank you for posting the legal terms. I will say from what I’ve read, there’s nothing in here that we “agreed” that points to them being given license to wholesale close down accounts. The only possible problematic sections are the following lines in the section on “Safety” that provides a little wiggle room.

    7. You will not post content that: is hate speech, threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence.

    10. You will not use Facebook to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory.

And even there, these are not that outrageous sounding.
