Press double standard on display in this WaPo story about the Pope resigning. A leader who rejects a modicum of transparency and prefers damage control, does that sound like anyone we know? Buehler?

    “…
It showed how Benedict, a weak manager who may most be remembered for the way in which he left office, was no match for a culture that rejected even a modicum of transparency and preferred a damage-control campaign that diverted attention from the institution’s fundamental problems….”

I am sick of the attacks on the Church that Jesus Christ founded. For the first 300 years all the popes were tortured and martyred. The next 1700 years had a handful of bad popes who were unable to destroy the church despite schism and reformation, not bad for continuity.Even the most maligned Pope, Pius 12th, who revisionists call the Nazi pope, was vindicated by the Jewish Rabbi of Rome who became Catholic by the Popes friendship and example.Jesus said “The world will hate you,but be of good cheer,I have overcome the world”John16:33 Its easy to forgive because “they” hated Jesus first.

BTW, the initial reason for emergency phone stations was because cell phones did not exist. Almost everyone has a cell phone today. Emergency phone stations are no longer needed.
